Hey All,
I found a way to add new tabs to the TF3D Program menu
By default there is 24 tabs (tab 0 - tab 23 = 24 tabs)
To add extra tabs in program:
Open Regedit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>HTC>Manila>ProgramLauncher
Click and hold on ProgramLauncher > New > Key
Key value:
24
For each tab you want to add increase the value of the previous key + 1
i.e 25, 26, 27, 28 etc
Howerver even though you can add new tabs, it seems you cannot assign programs to them..Yet!... Anyone got any ideas?

Because Manila is not designed to have more than 24 places doesn't matter whatever you do with registry
If you want more place use Dutty's Manila V2.1 (30 places in programs tab)

When using my Touch Cruise with Manila 2D, I was able to change the number of rows and columns for the Launcher Tab with M2DC, but now I was unable to find the solution to modify Touch HD's Program Tab, and apparently the options is not available to Advanced Config Tool and HD Tweak, anyone can point out to me how to do it?
Thanks a lot.
Yes, I like to know that too. When you use NoProgBack.cab and get rid of the gray cubes the 3 horizontal items are lost in space. It can handle 4 items next to each other with ease. The spin off would be that the tab can contain more programs.
Or, if that's easier: how to make two tabs called Programs...
Regards,
I don't start a new thread cause that's exactly what I am looking for... any news since december ?
I'd also be interested in any means of extending the amount of apps that can be accesed via the programs tab, beyond the standard 24.
If you add a 25th key and other details into the registry a new "option" block appears - but it is unusable.
Has anyone managed to get more than 24 option blocks on the standard HTC Touch HD Orange Rom type of Manila?
From settings tab: Touchflo3d v.1.3.35350.1_1630.38
from WinMo SETTINGS>TOUCHFLO>About v3.0 (Build 32567)
I'm not on a custom ROM and don't have the enthusiasm for using a custom rom.

I believe this is your answer - CookieMonster
Hi
Is there a possibility to view a list over last used programs simular as for the previous version of TF3D like on the Touch HD?
Mabye some tweak or program that would make this possible and easy/quick to use?
I would really like the option to quickly open last previous used programs even though the are closed/not running in the background.
Thanks!
If you click the windows/start button in the top left it shows the last 5 programs used just under the top bar.
you must change the Startmenu via Registry if you have the TF3D startmenu
running, before you can use the tipp from vHatch
HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu
EnableManilaStartMenu = 1(Default)/ 0 (OldWMstyle)

Oh, I thought my answer was too simple, lol. I have the TMO TP2 and didn't need to change the registry at all to have the windows start menu function.
If i want the HTC startmenu, how do i get that? Also, would someone post a screen shot of what it's supposed to look like? please? thanks

Oki, thanks for your answer. Any tip of a easy to use registry editor?
Has anyone been successful with this? No amount of hacking is allowing me to change the soft key for the touchflo 3d home page section...
I have used Advance Config, TouchFlo Detacher and Registry editing:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila
HomeLSKText = Text on softkey
HomeLSKPath = Path to program to run (or blank for default)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila
HomeRSKText = Text on softkey
HomeRSKPath = Path to program to run (or blank for default)
My result:
The text changes but the button will not launch program.
Search for a way to have it work leads me to the same result. could it be the version of manila?
my touch pro 2 is sprint version. I read one other forum where a tmobile version could not get this working either with my same result.
any info would be helpful. thanks
I used only the Advance Config
it works fine with me
Since I just cleared my storage (cause I manage to **** up the touch flo and have two settings and no calendar tab), I will try advance config first without touching the registry.
Ok I just realized Advanced Config does not remap the softkey for the TouchFLO 3D shell. It remaps the regular today screen's softkey. Unless I'm doing something wrong, here's what I did.
1. open advance config
2. press menu (right soft key)
3. clicked "more settings"
4. clicked "key mapping"
5. key mapping configuration for path and text shows up, did the changes.
of course since this only remaps the regular screen's softkey, the change does not show on the touch flo 3d home page soft key (where camera is).
I had a similar issue trying to set up TFDetacher and my Sprint TP2. I ended up hard resetting because it was jacked up. I haven't had a chance to try to fix yet.
I had the same issue, but only with the left softkey. Till now I found no solution.

Problem is that (at least on my TMO unit, but I've seen others report the same thing)
HomeLSKText - Changes Text on the left softkey
HomeRSKText - Changes Text on the right softkey
HomeLSKPath - Doesn't appear to do anything!
HomeRSKPath - Changes application launched by LEFT softkey (note - that is NOT a typo!)
i.e - it's easy to change the left softkey on the Manilla home page, but so far I've not found out how to change the right softkey - though I've seen screen caps here that show it changed, so it is clearly possible.
-Steve
On the sprint version there is no fix as of yet you can change the name on the key, but the activation is still contacts, this is with reg edits and programs i have tried.
Keyswop - changes the phone or Lock softkey.... still trying to find something to change the Touchflo 3d Icons so I can attach different movie players and such to the interface though.

yes, that was my other ultimate goal was to make those other touchflo tabs into buttons rather then 'tabs', that opened programs. personally I don't want ANY tabs, and just keep the touchflo on the home page, but disabling the tabs also disable their overlay features (hence loading from quick programs doesn't load the touchflo version like calendars).
Think the answer for remapping the soft keys in Manila TF3d home are as follows (using windows calendar as an example):
Within the registry.
1) HKLM\software\HTC\Manila
Within that folder see if the following string exists and change the value - if it doesn't then create it:
Value Name "HomeLSKArguments "
Value Data "-manila off"
(without the quotes)
Then next string
Value Name "HomeLSKPath"
Value Data "\windows\calendar.exe"
Then next string
Value Name "HomeLSKText"
Value Data "Calendar"
(Don't enter the quotes above)
This works for me and remaps the left soft key to open the normal windows calendar program. Also works with Right Soft Key simply by changing LSK to RSK - (got my RSK taking me straight to Comm Manager)
Good luck

thanks for the input. at least now I know the arguments path is probably important. However, it still does not work. same results, text changes, but does not operate. =(
nope did not work 4 me, maybe we can have other sprint users try this out to see if they are successful. Are you sure this is step by step in how you accomplished this?
I think I may have figured it out or at least am on to something...
I remapped my LEFT softkey to open Windows Media Player.
HomeLSKArguments:
HomeLSKPath:
HomeLSKText:Media Player
HomeRSKArguments:
HomeRSKPath:\Windows\wmplayer.exe
HomeRSKText
I have a brand new Sprint TP2.

I believe you figured it out. Arguments is not needed though. -manila off doesn't do anything.
So RSKPath points to left... that's really annoying. I remember reading this somewhere, but it was so ridiculous that I never tried it. LSKPath doesn't do anything though. =( Definitely a bug somewhere
yeah the left key can be re-mapped, its the right key that activates contacts and has yet to be changed.

Ahh bummer. I though I figured something out.
But just to be clear:
Only Sprint customers are having problems with remapping the softkeys, and it's only the right softkey.
The Verizon Touch Pro2 doesn't have to reverse the RSK/LSK paths AND can remap the RSK.
Maybe someone should re-title this as a Sprint only problem?
I've also read some tmoble have this problem too.
just curious, what version of manila do people have? (listed in the same registry location).
mine is 2.1.38416.1 and I am with Sprint.
@ dshosu: idk about tmobile but sprint versions has this issue, verizon's dont.
@ tonefour: i have the same manila version.
Mine is exactly the same, I just got mine yesterday from Sprint (2.1.38416.1)
I am using EnergyROM WM 6.5, recently upgraded from Dutty 6.1
I found very annoying and time consuming this "animation" which is active on each menu...
For example: you may start "contacts" then touch Menu (bottom right): the list of options appear, with a 0.5sec delay...in WM6.1 it was instantaneous...
If you edit a SMS or email message> Click "Menu": a list of option (first level) is shown, if then you click on My Text or Insert, then the list pops down and pops up (1 sec delay) with the 2nd level of options...in WM6.1 it was immediate...
I found the animation slow, sluggish and I prefer to remove it and go back to WM 6.1 style (faster).
Can someone point me the way to disable animations in "menus"?
Thanks and waiting.
Saulo
I see this ROM (Energy ROM WM6.5) is equipped with two tweaking utilities:
1. WVGA Tweak
2. Advanced Config
Maybe the trick to disable animations is within this apps?
Thanks and waiting for suggestions
Saulo
I tried using the Tweak Applications for Blackstone, but I cannot see any item or area where I can edit the animation settings...can somebody share his ideas?
Thanks and waiting

I'm on EnergyROM as well (from Nov. 3rd) and I found this: Open the start menu, hit Tools, hit Tweaks. There, you will find something called "Finger Menus OFF" and "Finger Menus ON". When you turn off Finger Menus, you no longer have the nice looking HTC Menus - but the menus appear instantly. But sadly they're very small. But it's better than waiting for the menus to pop up! Atleast for me!
So there's no way to have finger menu without animation, am I right?
registry edit
If you are talking about the HTC Menus, then there is a registry edit which will disable the animation:
Go in a registry editor to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCMenus]
and set
"EnableVSync" to 1 (dec)
"AnimationRadio_LS" to 0 (dec)
"AnimationRadio" to 0 (dec)
and then soft reset. I hope it helps.
Marek
thanks!!
Hi guys.
Okay, so I've cooked my ROM, WM 6.5 28205 Build with Manila 2.5.19222911.0 and Max Manila 2.82a BETA.
It's running great!, But, during my time here I've collected a rather large list of apps / games etc that I usually end up installing. Now even with Max Manila I am still limited to 20 shortcuts on the home screen. So then I have to decide which 20 applications are the most important to have there. But what about when new apps are released? What if I want those shortcuts there instead?
This brings me to my request, I would like to see an app / service that:
*creates an MRU (Most Recently Used) list
*in addition to this list, a numerical value for each app to show how many times the application is used (for ranking purposes)
*takes the above data and integrates it into the registry settings for the 20 shortcuts on the home screen under Max Manila.
The ranking data would mean if I ran program "A" 50 times, and program "B" 20 times, then program A would appear at shortcut 1 on the home screen, and program B at shortcut 2. But then if I install a new app, that i ran 70 times, it would move programs A and B one shortcut over, and the new app would now appear in shortcut 1. etc etc.
Perhaps as a more advanced thing, an option in the program / service to allow the user to choose how many shortcuts to prioritze, in the event that some people only have the 12 or 15 shortucts, or even stock manila.
Waddya think guys and girls? any takers?
