and dump the part_1_RAWFS.bin
also i replaced the new wince.nls...
after that...
i dont know how to make a new xip.bin to replace the old xip.bin
may you change the wince by the following..and form a new flash.bin for me??
http://rapidshare.com/files/217560758/wincenls.rar.html

If you need me to appear, just say my name out loud 3 times on a xda thread, like this:
"Spocky12, Spocky12, Spocky12... pof"
No seriously, I read messages posted to my threads and I also answer every pm I receive, you really don't need to post a new thread to contact me.
As for wincenls, I'll have a look when I have some spare time.

@bun_0806
Ha ha, I saw you pleading in the Chinese LG forum. They shouldn't have let you down. Because translating a rom or replacing wince.nls is what they always do. Hope spocky12 does it for us.
Thank u spocky12 for being helpful when needed.

Newbie Questions: tons of them : mostly mkrom RomKitchen

Hello All,
Firstly, I would like to say how great this website is and tip my hat off to all the people involved in maintaining this site.
I am very new to the whole XDA modification scene and have a ton of newbie questions. I know some of these questions have been asked before; however I still have not grasped the concepts fully. I have tried to restate the questions asked before so that I (and hopefully other newbie’s ) can fully understand how to modify XDA’s.
Any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.
So here goes the questions:
When creating a customized ROM (using MKRom) my understanding is that one has re-create the initobj.txt and the Default.reg. Is it possible just to install all the applications you want, and then download the initobj.txt and the Default.reg and place them in the cfg directory for the custom ROM?
If this does not work, how does one know what to edit in these files?
When MKROM request a Rom image, is it requesting the backup ROM IMAGE? Will any image do?
When backing up a ROM, what option does one have to select to backup the operating system, settings and programs inside the ROM? Does CE do all of this?
What is CE, Boot, GSM stand for in the boot menu?
If one wants to just create a new boot image, what is the simplest way? Does one have to create a whole new ROM?
If one wants to just have the unlocking software, what is the simplest way? Does one have to create a whole new ROM?
When creating a Rom using RomKitchen, it asks you add Add your own ROM files? Is this your backup rom?
In RomKitchen one of the readme files asks for:
bootimage.bmp,_initobj.txt,_initdb.ini,_default.reg,xipchain
Is the default.reg and the initobj.txt in this directory have to be pre altered for the new programs one wants in the Rom like the way the MKROM wants them? Does the setup program create them for you?
Is the bootloader.nb0 file specific to the boot loader you have?
Very confused what is exactly needed in the /CFG directory.
In the CFG directory do you place your backup Rom dump?
Hi ...
Do you call these as newbie questions ??!! ... I can hardly wait to see your advanced ones
If I got you right, you want to "create" your own ROM instead of doing like most of us by "cooking" a new ROM in one of the kitchens like www.yorch.net
I may advice you to move this thread to the "Hacking it" forum which I see it a better place than here.

WinCE CAB manager
Hi,
yes ive been playing around with wince cab manager all week.. i did manage to understand something in it but i need some explanation on things like:
1. CM_Networks - what is this use for
2. CM_ProxyEntries - when i see on this characteristic, i saw different input of "characteristic type" like for e.g. for VODA Ita is "HTTP-{A8BCF750-A9BC-4cc2-B10B-22D89F4C9D5C}" while for telstra i found that it has 2 types, "null-corp-{39C79ED0-5C5E-4745-B4FA-71C28CB50ED2}" and "HTTP-{18AD9FBD-F716-ACB6-FD8A-1965DB95B814}" and for O2 PAYG "WAP-{18AD9FBD-F716-ACB6-FD8A-1965DB95B814}". also i need to understand what is "SrcId" and "DestId" and what should i put in it..
so basicly this thing makes me confused and don't know which one to follow. I'll guess someone has to post a thread of "How-To" steps to create Operator CAB files and explain in a bit details about the "numbered things" like {A8BCF750-A9BC-4cc2-B10B-22D89F4C9D5C} , {18AD9FBD-F716-ACB6-FD8A-1965DB95B814} , {7022E968-5A97-4051-BC1C-C578E2FBA5D9}, {ADB0B001-10B5-3F39-27C6-9742E785FCD4} etc.
Thanks for those who reply and thanks in advance for those who's willing to help newbie like me..

ROM has my old Ringer!!

I am trying to dig through an old summiter ROM to extract ringers but can't find the ringers. I am looking at the ROM using WinRAR, but there is some NK file that is the largest of all; are ringers in there?
That is noob I know but I haven't broken up a ROM since the old Summiter days, and am lost.
What tools are there to break up a ROM to see the indivudual files in them?
I saved you the trouble as I keep those on my SC. Here's summiter's wavs and themes.
(I'm such a pack rat, keep every ROM Summiter, Faria, Molski and the rest of the rat pack ever released (and many that never made it to being released)
Enjoy!

How to edit a .nv2 file [LG KC910] ?

Hello ! Sorry for my bad english, i'm french.
I visited a lot of forums and website, but i have never found a solution for my problem.
I would like to know how to edit my .nv2 backup file of my Lg renoir KC910 to re-writre some caracteristics but i don't know if i have to use a special software or anything else..
If someone can help me (rahkisi too !), it's very important for me and i already spend a lot of time to find a solution...
Thanks ver much !!!!
Up Please, i really need your help !
I have tried to change my IMEI in the .nv2 file, and i successed, but when i try to restore it, it's always my old IMEI number and not my custom number who appear, why ?
Thanks in advance
have you checked out mygreatphone.com
The site has a whole bunch of custom firmwares for the kc910 and detailed steps on how to modify specific attributes along with downloads for the associated tools to do
Hi, thanks for your reply.
Yes, i already check this website and it's true, it is very interesting but for a french student, it's not easy to understand ALL the forum '^^
I found a lot of information about IMEI, but nothing specificaly for the KC910...
For exemple, i know now how to change the .nv2 file (Hexadecimal editor) but after upload my new file to my phone, my custom .nv2 file was probably deleted because when i backuped the .nv2 to check if it's already my custom file, it's appear that it's a new .nv2 file with the original IMEI..
I don't understand how the portable can re-write the original IMEI file and where he find it...
Again, i'm sorry for my bad english...
Thread closed.
Discussion of changing your IMEI is not allowed on this board due to the possible legal implications.
