WM6 Theme Repository?

Has anyone started a list of themes for download... or better yet, a how-to tutorial on making your own?

Google ThemeGenCE. Thats what you can make them in. I'll post some of mine as well as others i've collected tomorrow.

There is some WM6 themes at Kyphur.org...Though the themes are quite old.

Yep kyphur had some great ones. I liked the American Flag one, but the link never worked for me, so I couldn't download it!

Thats sick works well but if you have a theme installed it wont read the launcher from the theme so the stuff in the Luncher.apk from the theme wont show up clock,google search bar and stuff like that. Great idea and if themes can be installed with this its going to be bad a$$.

if you download the apk couldnt you just replace and theme the elements in that and upload it? or is that not something that could be done? i understand that you couldnt redistibute it, but for your personal use no? i opened it up and it looks similar to the launcher...just a thought

That was my understanding. In fact, didn't you do this to the demo version randumaccess?

well it would be easier if the developer got together with Jesusfreke and make it into a big update and incorporated the app as the home screen for a small donation type thing? I would pay again for a update like that then the sky is the limit with themes for this.
yeah i updated the elements like in the normal launcher by the way and resigned the whole app. people would have to know how to put the elements in the app themselves after purchase... not for amateurs. would like to see someone pull off some way to do it easily though.

that means i can do it, and i am working on one as soon as we figure out how to do it without pirating the app, it will be released.

And as far as pirating the app, thats gonna be hard. Its not the actual update.zip your modding, its his apk which could prove to be troublesome. Maybe there's a way to get everyone together who has purchased it & they can share the themed versions??? Just an idea

How do you sign the .apk after you edit it doesn't work with the .apk resign tool.

well i signed the demo with no problem, but i am having a problem with the paid version... cant seem to sign it correctly

there should be a meta.inf file in it that you need to remove to resign it so it takes the test keys. Why not just send baron a pm and talk to him? One idea would be to give him the themes to release through his website.

I asked him about whats been talked about here this is what he said.

Will you ever finish any of your themes? This is a good idea but will you do more than the basic stuff?.

Lol, he's released like 5 themes in the past 24 hours it seems, the concept of his work is nice, there is a lot more that can be done to make it better though. Either way I could care less, I make my own personal, as well as public, use themes.

Eh, as a theme maker its good to see someone doing variety of themes like this. Like it or not, most people don't want to see overblown full themes and are happy with something like any of the the past 3-4 themes RandumAccess has done. Kudos for doing the work, it'll probably save others from getting requests like those.
Its a community, share and create alike. Thanks for making them I say.

Well as I have said in previous posts, i like "simple" cosmetic themes... its not that i cant do them but in my opinion I like them cause the icons arent so different from each other and i like to push out themes as i think of them...
I prefer basic... most themes are overcooked...lol
to me... they are complete...lol

I agree and I am one of those people... I do not like the Overcooked themes myself... which is why i use mainly my own themes on my phone.
There is a point where the theme can make the G1 ugly... especially if not done right... I find flaws in most of the overcooked themes and would rather not deal with that and just push out simple themes.
The more themes the better.

The more the merrier, keep 'em coming!

i think it's at, you spend a few minutes replacing a couple of simple things while the rest of us spend days or weeks perfecting all the awesomeness of the "overcooked" as you say themes and i think that the perfection lies somewhere in the middle. hopefully we have some really great well-done, and some medium rare themes, that come out of this contest we are having. just a few days left for competitors to perfect the themes

I have to throw in my .02 in favor of the undercooked theme. I've downloaded a few of the amazing looking themes and then, 20 minutes later I realized that half the icons on the home pages aren't themed and it just looks... off. I rather themes that don't touch the icons or don't radically change them so when I install a new program it doesn't look like ass when I put it on the home page. Not to say I don't appreciate all the work themers put into them, but I think it's nixed the moment you place a non-themed icon on the desktop.

Sorry for clogging up your theme thread just wanted to know.
Well a theme that has just been altered is a Theme MOD and what you call overcooked is considered complete.
I seen this in another thread about this section being broken up,I really think it would be a great idea maybe add some sub forums. Complete themes,Mod Themes and a section for all the other threads.

I say keep the themes coming Randum!!! I actually really like that you don't change the icons... I love a lot of these themes but the icons always kept me from using them. You sir have changed that for me!

Yeah, I think that we should make themes just like these and then use utilities like BetterCut to change the icons to ones that match.
That's what I do anyways.
Maybe the devs can post their icons in separate packs, too (as if they don't have too much on their plate already with the RC9, RC33 and ADP1.1 builds to theme... =P)

Im not even doing the competition, I have created Overcooked themes and I really did not like them as much as my "Simple" concept.
This popularity about my themes has created so much more positive email and posts.. I LOVE IT!

I'm sorry and i know I'm not a senior member like most but honestly an artist telling another artist to change up his style is just retarded. if you don't like someone else's work keep making your "overcooked" or "completed" themes and accept that maybe there are some people out there that don't like your themes as much as the simple ones.
you both make sick themes and this is no way to treat one another like your themes are better than someone else's because you are only looking at it in your own point of view.
Keep up the good work guys and one day i look forward to be as good as you guys.

After DLing it I'm very surprised... way better than pic puts off... and my clock is still red from the batman theme! Good stuff, thanks a ton! Hope you increase the detail on this and make it one of those complete theme. Your the first person to do a bleach theme and its already a hit

The notification bar, blue tint is really nice

this is sweetttt man. with a little tweak and work this theme could really take off

what would you guys like to see in this theme?
what is the important aspects of the show?
please give me some ideas as to what you would like to see with the clock, statusbar, the app bar, folders...etc.
let me know what YOU the FAN would like...
I will try to create the theme any fan would enjoy! - just need some details and suggestions from fans.

Dude I don't know what Bleach is... I have never seen it or heard of it & I probably won't ever even dl this theme but I have to say, this is easily the best post I have ever seen from a themer on this forum!!! You're attitude is amazing! Thanks for hookin us up with some awesome themes!

My thoughts on Bleach and what I would like to see...

Hey all, A fan wanted to take over this project for me... I will let him take it and see what he can do.
If any objections to this you can pm me... I just figured I would let a Fan revamp this for you guys... The passion for the theme is stronger with fans.
Dont get me wrong, i had passion for the theme but a Fan might have a little more IMHO...
I enjoy working on requests, so keep them coming, please PM me with requests, there could be a chance i have not seen it or overlooked it for some reason... not on purpose, just cause there are a lot of threads i check.

Yea, someone is "re-doing" this theme but I like this one better, just think some icons, a custom hightlight, new font, ect... kinda like the batman theme how Everything is different. (The red digital clock is still on my phone, matches this theme though) I know it would take time but it a potential master peice! I DL some pics, changed the backround, did custom my favs, did some pic frames and its amazing so, please!!!!!

Makes the "XDA 2013 Beta - 1024" XDA theme look more like "XDA 2010". For those who prefer the old fonts and colors, but still want all the new features of the 2013 theme (e.g. DevDB).
Make sure you're using the "XDA 2013 Beta - 1024" theme on XDA to use this userstyle correctly.

Fixes: corrected some colors, made the text smaller for buttons so it doesn't overflow anymore, other minor fixes.
Improvements: more themed buttons, some icons replaced, other minor changes.

Just wanted to thank you for turning my page dark. At first I tried the Dark XDA "Retro" 2010 look and liked it...until I saw your signature and the fully Dark XDA Theme with the Universal Mods. Love this look! It's so much easier on the eyes too after spending so much time in front of a computer all day.
I try never to skip a day of the News board or XDA on Google+ because I know I'm bound to find something cool to learn or to try. And today, my friend, you made the News thread and XDA site more of a playground than it already was for me. Lol Awesome work, sir!!

Also like your dark/blue theme, but the unread threads aren't too easily to find for me.
I don't know if you can understand what i mean, but even if the unread threads are bold, they don't catch my eyes as they do in the 2013 to 2010 theme
@GermainZ I don't know if you'll ever come back here but... here's a little question, would it be possible to move the "subscribe forum" and "mark forum read" buttons as we loose many space because of them ?
