Is it just a mater of using the base RC33 theme and dragging and dropping the folders from one to the other (xml edits included)?
I have a personal theme i have made for ADP but want to change over to RC33. Can i just copy the res-drawable folder in its entirety from the ADP theme into a RC33 theme? Will the xml edits etc work ok that way?
thanks
you can ^^
have a lok here:

I modded a 1.42 Theme from BUUF where I changed the Clock, some Icons and modded the boot screen.
Does anyone know if these 1.42 Themes can be used on Haykuro's Sapphire 5.0G build, and If so Do I need to remove all the Ringtones/Notifications again?
They won't work.
Ask them to write a 5.0G version.

If you have a slight knowledge of how Themes work you can easily port them over.

I have thrown together a quick update file that can be used to either restore the stock 1.5 ADP theme (JF), or to build themes. This will save people from having to download the 40MB full update.
JF ADP 1.5 Theme Template - Rapidshare
I also uploaded it to MediaFire (don't think they have a max amount of downloads).
JF ADP 1.5 Theme Template - MediaFire
I don't think there will be any issues with this file, but let me know if there are.
edit - updated with permanent RapidShare link - thanks tehseano!
Hey I have a zip folder w meta inf and system folders..
All of the other files besides apps n framework folders and their respective .apks have been removed
If I sign it is that all I need or all u did?
Also a properly formatted update-script. But, yeah that's all I did.
I can upload a permanent rapidshare link. Give me a few minutes.
EDIT: Here you all go
JFv1.5 ADP1.5 Theme Template - Rapidshare
Thanks! I can now port my customized theme to Cupcake!
This is just so you can go back to the original theme if you don't like a theme you downloaded right? and so you don't have to reflash the jf 1.5.
Am i correct? Thanks

That or so you can build a theme for distribution that is much smaller (11MB vs 40MB) for distribution.
i think this should actually be a sticky, so themers start using this instead of full roms.
daveid - you are amazing! =) I just ported my Megaman theme from Haykuro to JF in less than 2 minutes lol. I wish someone would develop a theme template for Haykuro's build. I'll continue to use his build and especially continue to build themes using Haykuro's version (even though it's apparently more time consuming when compared to using this theme template) because there seem to be far more JF themes than there are Haykuro themes at the moment.
thanks for this.
do i only have to replace the app icon (which is it within the apk files) and zip it again? then rename du update.zip and flash it?
or is there anything else?
additionally, how to rename apps not within this pack?
Exactly what i am looking for. thanks!
how bout ADP1.5Hr3 default? or is it the same?
I was waiting for this since i'm working on porting for JF builds now and the dudes builds.
If these builds stick for a while i have big plans for some new stuff.
Anyone test this on JF 1.51 ADP1?

i havent tested this to skin revert on adp151, but i did reflash a theme that was based directly off of this template (with major framework-res.apk changes). i had no issues.

Just did, works perfectly.
please help
ok i have been looking around and i really just want a theme tht is very basic with a transparent status bar/near transparent if someone could write me and elp with this i would greatly appreciate it
Since people want smaller updates for themes I have reworked the Theme template so that HTC_Music can be installed as well as HTC_IME vk keyboards for those using apps2sd (located in system/sd/app)
NOTES:
This is just a template, you need to add all your files in the proper directories
The Readme.txt file in the app folder is a placeholder Replace it with HTC_IME.apk or whatever other program you want in system/sd/app so that you don't clog the system/app folder
Don't forget to sign before using. Do not delete any folders or it will not install.
This is for people with system/sd/app only. If you have your data in data/app I can try to make another but you will have to test it yourself!
If you are not making a theme for this or porting one DO NOT USE it since it is not meant for anyone to install without loading a theme into it.
Here is the file.

Thank you for this beagz. As always great work
Thought I'd start a generic thread for UOT Themes as I did a couple for the stock 4.6.8 rom. These aren't great, but at least they're a change from the stock, so maybe others with talent can do some as well.
I've attached the Red and light blue themes I've created. If you want to use them as starters, just extract the settings.uot file and go to http://uot.dakra.lt/ and choose file upload, settings to import these settings. From there you can alter the boot screens and colors as you like. You'll need to make sure you set everything for MDPI and use the framework-res.apk and Systemui.apk from your phone (or the rom you use on your phone).
The two zip's I attached are for the 4.6.8 rom, so don't use them on apex or CM7/9. You can however import the settings and use your own framework-apk and systemui.apk to make a version that works with your rom.
Please share any new themes or changes to these themes you have... They can definitely be streamlined because some of the items don't apply to our phone so more people working on these would help us all. It would also be nice to see some full non-uot themes in this forum, but this at least is a start.
Hi, man.
How can i change the lockscreen? motorola one is too ugly
select new lockscreen from uot kitchen didn't work for me
everything else work in uot kitchen i don't know why
Was wondering if anyone out there knows of a way to take a theme chooser (apk) theme and turn it into a zipthemer theme. I know you can extract the apk just as if it were a zip file but I don't know what images go into what packages for zipthemer. Essentially I have a theme that was free that I love but I just upgraded my ROM to pa3.94 which doesn't have theme chooser anymore so I'm hoping there's a way to create a zipthemer theme with the extracted theme chooser theme. Anyone? Thank you in advance for any help.

There are several ways to do what you want to do, regardless from the fact that I hate roms without theme chooser and I have the strong suspect that this feature or similar will be officially integrated in KLP 5.0, hopefully, but:
1) you can create a vrtheme.zip, this way you only need a deodex system/app and the images will be flashed into the apk's, so non need for theme chooser
2) an easy one is UOT kitchen, you can create a basic theme composed by framework and systemUI, ofc you want to flash the output from the kitchen with a custom recovery, so no need for theme chooser..I don't know how is the support with android 4.x.x, but since it's very popular I asuume it will support latest android release (not sure for 4.3 specifically)
3) you can use exposed framework, just google "xposed framework" it will give you a lot of results, pick up one and start learn how it works..indeed it's basically a series of modules (apk) that allow you a series of customizations, among them, theming ones (battery, background, statusbar icons..etc)
4) but I understand this is probably out of your skills (just assuming, no offence), you can theme framework and systemUI to obtain what you want..you said the theme it's free, so you can do this, but it's very complicated, it implies xml edits, not just a right collocations of png's
5) You can also build a rom from source, and cherry pick the theme chooser code both from cyanogen git or aosp git (from a rom like slim rom or purity that has theme chooser as a feature in their code)...ofc, this is a dev job, I did it once on aosp, and it's not easy at all...theme chooser is more than two apk's, it requires a lot of framework edits, both in smali code and in the apk itslef, and a series of edits in setting.apk...very long way, very complicated, results are not 100% stable if you don't know exactly what you're doing..I mention this way of obtain what you asked just for the sake of the question.
..that's all I have to share for now..I personally use (when it's needed) vrtheme system, it's fast and clean, and allows you some xml customizations, but speaking frankly I eneded up using only rom that support theme chooser. Hope this helps:good:
ps. if you need further explanations, just ask me here, I'll help you as much as I can, but for now, take a look at the links below
