I am from New Delhi, India and I bought a used unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note ( SHV-E160L , U+LTE ) in Seoul ,Korea.
The seller assured that the phone is unlocked....
My 3G enabled Indian SIM card works fine here in Korea on International roaming but was advised by a friend that this model will not work in India.
Can anyone please advise whether this model would work on GSM networks in India ?
In case it does not work can some Custom ROM be downloaded to make it work for Indian Service Providers ?? I am a novice in terms of flashing the ROMS and Kernel versions etc. thus worried ....
Any help/suggestions in the above regard would be sincerely appreciated.... Awaiting your suggestions !!

Yes!! SHV-E160L on stock binary worked perfectly fine on Indian 3G/2G GSM network (Airtel Karnataka).

I think there is no easy unlock method for this phone, the regular 5570 variant. Although there is a "galaxy toolbox" named app by the forum member Doky73, but it's only working on the i variant, because the 5570i has a broadcom chipset. Is there any chance your mini is an 5570i not an 5570? You can find the model number on the box or on the stick behind the battery.

4 days ago I got my Note 2, brand new from a greek Vodafone.
I checked my stock firmware prior to rooting, flashing etc, and it was a JRO03xx ALIJ.
I could not find any firmware like this on any gsm model.
Is it possible that I have an LTE hardware model and branded as a GSM N7100 ??
I asked samsung and they said that if it says N7100 then N7100 it is...
Not possible.
