How to install a "multi" theme on a Prophet?

As I'm new to this I started by checking the Wiki for the Prophet but didn't find anything.
I downloaded the beautiful looking Iphone theme from DeviantArt;

In my mind I expected to find one exe file to run but the theme included quite a lot of small programs. Where do I put all the .skn files and so on in order to make it work!
Can someone please help me with this "stupid" question I would be very gratefull.

There are various threads about making your device look like an iPhone within the General forum. With those threads and the above file you should have no problems setting it up.
Unzip the file and install the today themes. Copy the icons to your device/storage card.
Decide whether you are going to use iLauncher or cLaunch and unzip the application. Check out how to associate applications using your preferred launcher and associate those apps with the icons provided within the pack.
Phone alarm within the pack is V1.56 (1.58 is now available from their website - www.pocketmax.com) but it is 18.50 Euros (Although well worth the money in my opinion). Install and apply the appropriate skin.
As far as I can tell you don't need WA or WAD to use this pack (as Xusso has suggested above). There are no WA/WAD components within the file anyway.
Support on using Phone Alarm is available on their web site.
Information on using cLaunch can be found here.
I have never used iLaunch but it should not be too hard finding instructions on how to use it.
Take the leap and have a go at putting all the stuff together yourself. You will learn a lot about your device and the programs by doing so. If you have any problems ask the board . . . .

Nice one! I am glad you managed to put it together. I notice you have XnView Pocket as well. An excellent freeware app.

It was kind of frustrating to set up CLaunch, but now as I know how it works it easier on my temper! At first I didn't get the start bar black no matter what theme I used, but after a couple of hours on the forum following various threads i found a Theme from Diggia that did the trick. It's amazing how much knowledge there is "out there". Some threads are on "simple matters", like mine, but some are really advanced. It kinda gives you complex for being such a noob at this!
I certainly will hang around and who knows, I might actually learn something!!!!

Ho to Add More Contacts to CphotoDialer

I have 12 contacts on my Cphotodialer. I wanted to know how you could add more. Say what if you wanted 30 or 40.... Would you just make a new registry entry and that's it. Know cpr or xml change? Just wondering. Think it would be nice to have some more.

Just registry entries. Add more pages, under hklm/security/chome/defaultsettings/cphotodialer and hklm/software/microsoft/chome/photodialer ....

I tried to just copy the lnk file for contact 12 and paste it into a different directory so that I could change what it said and then rename it to contact13, but after I do that. Nothing happened in my panel. I updated the registry in both places with a page 13 exactly as the other contacts are in the panel. I want to know what I am doing wrong. If I have to create a new contact13h.lnk and contact13m.lnk files, how do you create a lnk file? thanks for all the help

I am looking for upwards of 20-25. I know that seems like a lot, but I like to have options. I just wish I knew what to do to make them myself. I don't want to have to depend on you guys to the hard work like some people do. I am just thankful to have the knowledge guys.

you do realize it will be quicker just typing in the first 3 four letters of any part of the name and the contact will show up. from home screen.

Yeah, but I still would like the option to choose. Plus, like I said it's nice to have the knowledge. "He who hath knowledge, hath power."

check out teknotiq, he explained some of the information to me about his work with editting .9 pngs... also most themes such as BUUF, Fadte to Blue, Stericson's themes, all have .9 pngs edited... you can check with them as well

They can be changed but they always break, I have never had one loop me at the boot screen. Some look ok and others dont, its just trial and error.

I've noticed the best way to change these .9.pngs is to give them a 1 pixel border. The buttons for instance, the inside is one color and the border should be a 1 pixel black or whatever color of the theme. You have to erase the corners to, if not they stretch weirdly.

hey pud, try editing the clear notifications button and change its color, without it breaking. Then send me a pic. I was stuck on this forever....

I figured out the .9.pngs! The procedure is here! Updated: 02/13/09

If you have downloaded the SDK and Eclipse, you have all the tools you need, If not you should grab them and follow Google's guide.
This process is somewhat a pain in the butt, but worth it. You need to take the .9 off of the file name that you want to change, then drag it into the draw9patch tool from the Android SDK(in the tools folder) Here is some info about draw9patch. Pay attention to the Note in the middle of the page. Once you have your 9patch file edited and saved you need to compile it, the lines will remain on this .9 image until it is compiled with eclipse. you need to open a project, or create one in eclipse, drag the .9.png into the drawable folder, then right click your project folder and choose android tools/export unsigned application package. Once this is done, you want to open the apk with WinRar and pull your .9.png files out. you will notice the lines are gone! That is all, I am sure people who have not downloaded the SDK and Eclipse yet might have problems understand this process, but I will try to help you. I am not a guru with Eclipse but i know enough to get by.

Playing with the SDK today, i found in "SDK\tools\lib\res\default\drawable" all of the .9.pngs have the black lines intact. These could be good for learning the best way to stretch these images. Also the xmls have not been converted to binary, so it might make for some interesting hacks for themes.
Here is a screen shot of the draw9patch tool. The bottom and right sets the content area and the left and top set the stretch area.
I am not sure if i am going to disclose this info just yet (because of the competition) but i wanted to let everyone know its been figured out and we will all know very soon!
i am uploading some screen shots now with some perfect buttons! Anyone who has used my theme knows the buttons looked somewhat messy, well no longer will they be.

looks amazing man! I've been using this theme for the last week and i must say its totally grown on me. Thanks for putting out some kick ass updates

To tell you the truth, I loved your theme. The only reason I uninstalled it was because of the .9.pngs stretched out and looked bad.
After seeing these pics though I will reinstall =)

That's cool but this theme competitions is starting to suck, no one want to share any info due to fear of losing. I'm fearing this comp.. my be counter productive.

are some .9's harder to edit than others? never tried editing the buttons and such but the ones i've tried editing (the notifications bar etc.) seem not to mess up, no matter what i do to them. are some of them just really temperamental?

Not me if i had info like that i would share it because for me i don't care if i win or lose one this not my first comp and second i have been doing this to long.

Good work bro.

For the few .9 pngs I have modified so far I just used the layer blending properties to apply an overlay with some opacity and saw no ill effects. I haven't done many yet, but if I am just changing colors, I don't see why this shouldn't work for all fo them. Since it preserves the original shapes and layouts, just adds a tint to the image.

I am going to type up the steps to getting the .9s working properly. I am going to end up sharing the info, i'm not one to usually hoard info. There is still some learning to do with the draw9patch tool, but at least we can get rid of those damn lines after messing with it in in the draw9 tool.
I will add it to the first post of this thread.

Yes some are very hard and only distort at larger sizes. The buttons are very difficult, even opening them up and saving the file will break it. you don't even have to change anything. Try changing the btn_default_normal.9.png and use the stock btn_default_pressed.9.png. you will see a big difference when you press that button.

I agree, that is why i am going to release the info, its pretty simple but very tedious. Not as bad as compressing the images like i figured out before. But that's only because there is not as many.

This is the first time...well second time i have found something the community was looking for answers to, i am normally one of the herd waiting for the relases...not doing the release myself. i would love to win the competition, but i doubt perfect buttons will give me that much of an edge. =)

I agree. I want to get into the comp but it's not for the money. I'm doing it because it's fun to see what people can come up with and I enjoy a challenge. Besides isn't the comp about who's theme is most aesthetically pleasing, since none of us are releasing the themes to the public until after the comp no one will see those things anyway unless you post up 100 screens shots that is.

I wanted to make a thread for all people with ideas and creativity, similiar to the J & B keyboard thread... plus original Hero Clock thread is a little long.
reason is to have a place where you can ADB push or load up different colored widgets.
Now this is an early early stage of this thread and I plan to collab where possible... so please PM me for any help or ideas etc..
Im not the best at this, but im creative, so hopefully I can catch a few people's eye's (as my signature has) and let's get to it.
I have the PSD files of these clocks, you can open them in Photoshop or ImageReady.. I could use some help packing the clocks if people want them..
feel free to add your own customized widgets, clocks ,etc.. whatever is posted will be linked from the home page, for organization purposes.

Yeah we definatly need these in Hero builds these clocks are SO SICK great work

ok... I did this clock in less than an hour and a half... and I'll improve it over time... but!... this is for the Japanese(or Japanese wannabes(I KNOW I'M ONE!) )... as I said... I will improve it (when I have time)

A little HERO POWER TRIP and vacation now so thats what happened to my thread so maybe in a couple of weeks but for now I'm relaxing sorry to disappoint and thanks for keeping it legit with our clocks

dont want to compete in anyway with any developers... thats why i sought them out about my idea...
trying to start customizing the HERO widgets, Clocks, etc... (with the second hand) on Rosie..
just a different thread for a different customization
im going to see if I can have th4r edit a script or ill edit his script to work in the same way for SenseUI, Rosie, whatever you want to call it
some other developers of the community may partake in this as well...
names will be credited at the top

Here are the algorithms:
Points Plus = protein/10.94 + carbs/9.17 + fat/3.89 - fiber/12.49
Points Regular = calories/50 + fat/3.89 - fiber/5

can you post printscreen of the others applications ?
just to know if it's only a "basic" formula calc or not

Here's a slightly prettier version.
I'll put the code etc up sometime tomorrow, but it basically is four text boxes with a button that converts each to numeric, applies the formula and shows it in the fifth text box.

I suppose one could do it this way but what I do is write the food i eat down as i eat it, then i calculate all the ponts later.
If i have too many points then i know to get rid of the foods with exessive points for the next day.
My particular goal is to eat well without tracking points - to train my mind to want healthy food choices.

Yup, the initial request was for a calculator to use on an item by item basis, which is what I have done.
The delay in releasing anything is that I got distracted by making it also do the old points scheme as well, which is nearly done. Hope to have a new exe file later tonight.
Are there any differences I should be aware of with regards to US and UK calculations?

Interesting hypothesis: Letting users feel free to track the old way and the new way.
Also, the US way to calculate was the formula I gave on the first post.. Not sure what the UK way would be..
Would you still be willing to upload your source for the second and third .exe you created, out of the three you have ? ^>^
EDIT: How about the name WW4WM? Also, I think you should make this 'prettier' and try to get it sponsored by Omarket and XDA Marketplace.

i've included a possibility to have an .xml file in which you can add foods with some numbers and you can select this food in a droplist and then all fileds are prefilled.
maybe you can do something like that.

Feel free to carry on, it sounds like your skills are much better than mine. This was my first WM program and so is very "simplistic".
I'd like to see how other things are done as it progresses.
