HTC Rom branding

Just finally installed my first HTC rom. Very cool... works smooth and has a lot more free memory. However, is there anyway to remove their branding on screens such as in the call history? Here are the "green screens" that I have found thus far. They kinda clash with my scheme IMHO

THANKS! Now I have installed the appunlock, but cannot seem to overwrite the "HTC_CallProgressBkg_320x186.bmp" file. Is there something I am missing? Could have sworn I just overwrote it in T-Mobile's ROM

Run the unlocker and copy the files from the map to the windows directory of the phone. See also the word doc.

Try this.
Put the CAB file in a directory and run it from your phone. After this you will find the HTC unlocker in Start / Expert
Which rom do you use ?

just use total commander. put hte files you want on the phoen in a temp dir... then on the phone go to that dir with total commander and copy them to the desired location. they should overwrite fine.

Are you using the Roger rom ?
If so, run the first the cab file below, after that the SDA ApplicationUnlock

I am using the ROM listed a few threads above this. I assumed it was a "generic HTC"

So I did the update above WORKED GREAT...THANK YOU...sorry but I have a but...the text color for out going calls is white, how do I change it to black? The white is really hard to see on the new background color I installed. Appreciate the help, any others have this same need?

So the backgound that was in the HTC ROM was a dark blue background with white font...I replaced the background with brushed stainless background...BUT the white font it hard to read...so would appreciate help in finding out where to go and how to change font to black for outgoing calls.

For those who may need a solid bar version, just extract these files and copy and paste to your Touchflo Vista Wisbar folder on your phone and then Install the 2nd theme through the Wisbar theme manager

It's easy process. Extract on your home computer the TouchfloVista.rar.
Inside you will find a selection of .CAB's & .rar's. The rar's need to be extracted and there folder copyed and pasted to your phone through active sync ie: Touchflo_Vista_WMP to the Windows Media Player folder on your phone. All the Cab.s just need to be placed on your phone as is and executed from there following any instructions you see

I'm not really sure I'd say standard, the only feature I added was the 15 buttons but in saying that all the CAB's are uninstable.

The Touchflo Vista Wisbar foder can be placed anywhere usually on our storage card, it does need the wisbar advance program which you can get and trial at http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/products/pocketpc/WisBarAdvance/
once you have this there is an install section within this program and you will be up and running

Ok sorry i found...

How to Install
1. Download Wisbar Trial and install
2. Extract the VistaWisBar files to a folder on your storage card
3. (on the device) Go into START then SETTINGS
4. Click on Theme Manager
5. click on WisBar theme
6. click on Menu at the bottom and click on Install.
7. Browse to the folder on your Card and you will see the vista theme shown at the bottom window. hightlight and install.
Simple!
Then copy the other cab files to the sd card and run in turn using the file manager

I found a slight glitch. If you are using your own background on the today screen. Right at the top is a very small section of the vista themes default wallpaper showing.

I have placed a zip file on my first posting which will be what you need, this will cover all those who want to use another background picture

There is a phone signal icon in there I'm not sure about the other ones as there not listed in wisbar but Ill look into if they can be made up under custom buttons, just leave it with me

Use WinCE CAB Manager (free trial 30 days) and edit one of mines
Just replace the welcomehead.192.png file and the CAB name

I have fixed them now. I orginaly uploaded 800x800 images but xda-dev rescaled them to 558x558. didn't realise untill I read ur post. Now i have uploaded the pics to a different server so it should be all good now.

i made a windows 7 fake bootscreen
that black square should never be visible on the device
i never tried it because i cant replace the welcomehead.192. can anyone help me? i dont have a cooked rom on my x1. a question: if i delete the welcomehead and replace it... and then hard reset will the new one still be there? that would suck! since now i never played around on the rom files and i dont want to loose my guarantee.

hey looks good, but only 600x600 ??
regarding your Q, yes: a hard-reset pulls everything out from the read only memory (ROM) and replaces all current contents, sort of a clean Windows install on your PC, which will "format c:\" and then reinstall the Operating system (OS)
But don't be shy, Give it a try:
Flash Hard-SPL and then flash my SEX1 W4X.23 ROM
I bet you will not be dissappointed, and you can ALWAYS go back to stock, nobody will notice you ever messed with the ROM

am a avid fan of this site been looking for a x1 dialer to match my phone eg the htc dialer or any other pls help would preffer it in a dark shade since my x1 is black am using some tweaks and spl 3.0 dont know much just how to install cabs and stuff

the icons are for 6.5 not sure if they will work on 6.1 but the cab is attaced:
The wallpaper is cooked into the rom as soon as i can extract it i will upload for you

Have you installed both cabs?

Here's the whole theme with the wallpaper: you need to change the extension from cab to tsk for it to work

it is part of the theme i don't have a theme creator to extract it i've looked through the entire windows dir and the image is not there on it's own i am sure there would e a theme creator somewhere that would solve the issue.

So I tweaked it a bit to remove the text and the arrows Here's a preview:

How-to:
1. Decompile framework-res.apk, navigate to \res\values\
2. do a search for strings.xml files in explorer
3. Drag and drop all the files from the search results into Notepad++
4. Find using REG expressions:
zzz_glass_lock_help_text_2.*
replace with:
zzz_glass_lock_help_text_2"> </string>
(Tip: use the "replace in all open documents" button)
5. Save all files
6. Compile apk as usual

For English, it's under res\values\strings.xml
Do a search in the file for zzz_glass_lock_help_text_2
You can also find other strings.xml files for various languages in other values folders (e.g. values-es)

As JPO and JPA seem to be mostly different in localization I would take a wild guess and say yes.
You better prepare an update.zip with your vanilla framework though better safe than sorry.

Not at the moment, I'm waiting for the official Froyo builds to be released before making mods for them. Right now seems many are suffering from ORD (me included )
Also looking into how the pngs can be added to apks to save some work

This is exactlly what i was looking for...but now ive had it for a few days and reading other mods is there any chance you could make the extended power menu for this aswell? then it will truely be perfection...

I agree.. i love the look of this theme..
If it included the ext. power menu.. I would use it forever.. lol
Maybe this is something that can be done by me if someone tells me how?
Also i am a noob with this stuff.. i have no idea how to install this even with instructions in thread.. So i would like to make this into a cwm flashable zip.. with the power menu added. If it's easy maybe someone could tell me how or just cook it up for me?
