mouse?

I have heard on some smart phones you could get a bluetooth mouse to pair and function with the phone. Does anyone know if this is possible with the dash?

Not that I heard of. What phone did you hear does this?

It's for the Anthena 7500 if i remeber it's more like a UMPC than a phone?

Yeah I couldn't find the thread I had read earlier. This was the closest I could find. I read somewhere that someone did get a bluetooth mouse to work with Excalibur. However now I can't find the article. He said the only problem he had was finding a mouse pointer program.

I was experimenting with something similar to his earlier today, although I desired the reverse method of control. I noticed that XP MCE device manager had a HID that was called Bluetooth Remote Control.
After a little search, I discovered a free application called Bluetooth Remote Control for Windows Mobile.

I installed the application and was quite surprised that I could control my XP MCE laptop's Media Center as well as Windows Media Player with my HTC S620 (modded Dash). The application even utilizes the HTC display to display song information and also there is no line of sight requirement.
What I really wanted was to be able to control the PC's mouse and keyboard with the Smartphone. Not view the PC but just use the phone like a mouse and keyboard. The application has this ability (Screen Control) for PPC's but not completely for Smartphones. I was able to scroll up, down on a web page or application but that was all.
I installed FakeCursor and configured SmartToolKit to launch it from an extended keypress. Now I was able to move the mouse pointer on the laptop, a bit, and enter data via the HTC keypad. However, Fakecursor stopped sending data after it reached the edge of the Dash screen so I could not completely navigate the laptop.
If anyone is looking for a free remote control for audio/video application the application mentioned above would be a good start.
Any tips about the best way to use a Smartphone Standard without touch to control a PC would be welcomed.

you can easily change it by the following steps...
- use any reg editor program
- goto HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CClock
- change SK2TEXT from "Set" to "Comm Mgr." (no quote) or any word you like e.g. Wireless Mgr., Comm Manager
- change SK2URL from ":MSCLOCK;AppRunToHandleNotification" to ":MSWRLSMGR" (no quote)
- exit reg editor program
- soft reset
this method can use with other menu in today screen
...

thats great, but I want to define the windows mobile lock screen to one softkey. Now it is set as softkey when I press the start button, but I want the link e.g. at CClock. Does someone know the application name of the windows mobile lock screen?

try this ":MSQuickApp" (no quote) it will set your softkey for 'Quick List (Power Off, Lock, TaskManager, Wireless Manager, Profiles) '

look for a software name keyswop...that shud allow u to change the softkey

ok so that program would work for the basic softkeys....does anyone have any suggestions on how to assign a diff key to the lock screen? I have a Kaiser and if I could assign it to the PTT key it would be awesome...

Disable automatic screen rotation

Hi folks,
I have searched all over with no answers.
My rom (mightyrom war) has auto screen rotation enabled in multiple apps and all it does is kill performance for me and interfere with s2u2.
There is nothing in my settings or apps to change this.
Does anyone know of a way to KILL auto rotation and only allow it to work with the keyboard opened?

get on your registry and go to
HKC\software\htc\htcsensonr\AutoRotation = "1" (change it to "0" )

This doesn't work for me - at least not for my purpose. The ROM I'm using doesn't auto-rotate based upon which app is running. I want it to always stay in landscape - unless I manually rotate it (I have the arrow key next to the power button set to rotate 180, via keyboard config).

This doesn't work. I tried disabling all the oem_misc.dll devices. I2C1 seems to disable rotation to portrait when closing the keyboard, but also crashes it! :-(
Well, if all else fails, you can always physically intervene. I decided to just hot glue a rare-earth magnet onto the edge. It holds the little magnet inside the screen up so that the phone always thinks the keyboard is open. This finally sticks it in landscape.

Magnet is right there, it's very small. I colored it black with a permanent marker so it's really quite tolerable. They sell very small ones at radio shack.

You wouldn't happen to know what it is/if it's any different for CDMA version would ya? I went to both HKEY Classes Root, HKEY Current User and HKEY Local Machine, I didn't see a HKC, also I didn't see an AutoRotation entry closest I saw was GSensor.

I am trying to find a keyboard with both the letters and numbers on one screen. I need to be able to enter both without pressing symbol button or shift to change keyboards. Do you guys know any APK's or program that would allow this? I have tried swift key and perfect keyboard and they didn't work.

I don't know of anything like what you want, and this should probably be posted in the themes and apps section, or the question section, but definitely not the Development section.

Swiftkey works fine. What did not work for you?

I am curious too as to why SwiftKey doesn't work for you. If you long press on a key either the single additional options will post or like the below will happen. View attachment 1746389

This one has a free version, but I don't know if you can add the numbers on the front keyboard on the free version. I know you can on pro. It looks like the aosp keyboard. You of course can customize it. Its worth the $3.

It is customizable as far as colors and layout, etc. I like it a lot! the numbers can by one tap change to punctuatuins, and arrows, etc.

[Q] Quick Remote - Universal Remote

Hello
As some of you know, the app Quick Remote on G3 is a little different from the app on the G2.
In the option of 'Universal Remote', the remote I built for my Air Conditioner is'nt working.
There is someone that it works? the 'Universal Remote' is working good (Such as with DVD), just the air conditioner mode is'nt.
By the way, I saw a thread on the same issue.
What can I do?

when it comes to learn the codes of a/c remote u have to know that some single buttons have multi codes for each .
like the power button has 2 functions = 2 codes = 2 buttons to learn ( ON + OFF ).
Mode button has 5 functios =5 codes =5 buttons to learn on the universal remote ( Auto + Cool+ Heat +Dry + Fan ) ......etc
thats why its too hard to create a universal remote for air condition
but u can do it if u want like i had did ☺

u have to creat several button at lg g3 for each button on the original remote and learn codes for each function alone
