WiFi not behaving correctly

I have connected my M2000 to several WiFi networks since I got it.
All are infrastructure/AP-based and use WEP and MAC Filtering.
They all work fine.
At one of the sites I work at there is a WiFi network that doesn't seem to work with my M2000.
My laptop and all ther other wireless devices at the site work fine.
The M2000 can see there is a wireless network but it cannot tell the SSID, it constantly reports it as "" (blank) rather than its true name. This is not just in the WZC tools in windows mobile, WiFiFoFum also reports the network as having no name. I know this is the correct network because WiFiFoFum correctly reports the MAC of the nearest access point wich is a DLink DWL-7000.
My M2000 says it is connected but it isn't and it cannot get an IP address. The MAC of my M2000 is definitley in the accepted MAC list on the AP.
Anyone else come across this ?

Is the SSID hidden? I've had to turn the transmission of it back on since getting my M2000, else it will not connect reliably.
OK. I think this is just me being dumb.
The Dlink DWL-7000 is an 802.11a/g AP.
Normally I would expect any AP that supports 802.11g to be able to support 802.11b as well, but It looks like it might not, so that could explain it.

Mebbe not you. A quick google suggests that's triband a/b/g
OK. Well I have had a other crack at it today and my M2000 will definitely not join this wifi network and is unable to identify its SSID.
Woohoo!
Updated the firmware on the DLink DWL7000AP Access Point and now it all works fine.

Help needed with wifi connection.....

We have a 3com wireless router at home. The laptop downstairs connects to it through a PCMCIA wireless adapter. My phone also connects to it fine, no probs at all.
However, we have a pc upstairs with no wireless on it at all. I have been told that I can use the phone to "simulate" a wireless connection to the router through its USB connection. I have tried this using the program Wireless Modem on the phone but to no avail. Windows XP keeps looking for a driver that a dont have and is not supplies on the CD that comes with the phone. Any ideas where I can get this driver from, or am I doing this just completely wrong......
Thanks
There seems to be a growing amount of threads regarding the whole WiFi scenario.
I have experienced problems too. I have managed to configure the wifi and it picks up my belkin wireless router but it cant surf.
I am also using XP!
Your problem is slightly different to mine but I will have a go at your problem too.
GOOD LUCK!
Ok. JUst to update, i have found the drivers that install the the phone as a HTC USB Modem but im still having no luck. Im trying to simulate my phone as a wireless card to connect to my router downstairs.
Is this possible???
samething
Ive just got myself in the same situation. I have the XDA2i connected to my WIFI router fine, I can go on the WWW. Im now need to get my laptop into the loft where Im doing some work on an iriver H10 20gb (trying to construct a connection box as they arn't available until Sept!!!) I need the net access to look up pinouts on chips. I don't have a WIFI card for the laptop yet (should be here soon as on back order  )
SO I want to use the PDA as a wifi card for my laptop through the usb port. How do i get the laptop to see the PDA as a network card and configured for this operation??
Cheers

Use phone as a wireless router that connects via HSDPA

Does anyone know if it's possibl to use the phone as a wireless router
that connects via HSDPA so other devices could share the connection?
I have HTC Tytn (Hermes) and I think it might be possible.
Are there application already available that does this?
Thanks!
Hi,
Never tested, but you should be able to share the hermes internet connection and then in the pc connected to hermes share that connection as well.
Is that what you want?
Regards,
I'm posting this from my macbook pro using wmwifi router and connected to HSDPA. My phone is pretty warm though
yes there is, pretty easy to use cab (just follow the directions to setup the network first)

HTC WiFi router. /end
I'm using WMWiFi router and connecting through WiFi. I have a Verizon phone so I also had to install ICS, which WMWiFi router needs.
htc wifi internet sharing
htc internet sharing all the. easier to use than wmwifirouter and free.
Just wish I'd get the HTC internetsharing to work with the Dutch stock ROM.
