Got Stuck on Bell Screen after flashing*help pls* - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hi everybody,
I just bought myself a new vogue from Bell today and I unlocked it w/ imcoke 2.31. I followed all the directions and bootloaded was completed.
Then I installed NFSfan's 1.29 Bell rom. I downloaded the newest bell version and clicked on romUpdateUtility.exe and followed the direction after reading readme first. This is my first time flashing a rom..
Now here comes the trouble.. When I am done with the flashing and my phone restarted itself, it got stuck on the blue screen with bell logo on ><
Please help. I tried hard resetting and it didn't bring back the factory rom.
Also, when I pressed power+camera+reset, it does say imcoke's name..
Because it got stuck, I cannot even do active-sync w/ my computer. What can I do? Also when I did a soft-reset,which brings up the htc screen
it says: R:1.59.10a ; D:3nfs
Can anyone tell me how to fix this please? Thank you all in advance.

Did you upgrade the radio to 3.42.50 with the Official Bell 6.1 ROM first?
If not, download it with the link supplied, put your phone into bootloader mode and flash that first.
http://www.htc.com/ca/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=70&act=sd&cat=all
When complete, put into bootloader mode again then flash 1.29
Don't worry, if you can get into bootloader mode, your phone is not bricked, it's just waiting for a ROM image.

Thanks for the quick Help.As you can tell, I am panicking..
I am downloading the file now. How can I go into bootloader mode? Is it the tri-colour screen?
And how can I get that file on my computer w/o active sync working? My computer said it cannot detect my phone.
Thanks again.

It is amazing! The bootloader is loading w/ htc updating rom even when a/s is not working!!
Thanks a bunch. I will report my progress after installing every step.
my phone did have communication error while flashing, but luckily there was a visual tutorial to walk me through. Thank you for your help

Help ASAP... Dash can not flash to any roms

Hey, currently i have kavana rom installed from a long time ago and it seem like when i turned it on this morning the whole rom is messed up.. my two left and right soft key doesn't work and i can't even go to settings or anything.. I try to flash it back to its original tmobile rom but it doesn't work... anyone have any suggestion? i haven't used this phone for a long time and i need to lend it to my uncle so i need a answer asap. thanks!
btw... it keep saying the image file is corrupted!
stuck on HTC screen!!!
i tried doing the hard reset but after i press the send button it just stays at the htc screen. I was flashing the original tmobile rom and i accidently dropped it and lost connection, after that it gets stuck on the htc screen and wont start up... what can i do? is this fixable?
i believe if you go to the bootloader screen you can flash back to the original t mobile rom. ummm use the wiki tab to find the rom and how to get to that screen. hope this helps
Yes it is fixable. All you have to do is hold the camera (sym) button down for about 10 seconds, then plug the usb cable in while still holding it down. You now should see a tri-colored screen. When you see this screen you can flash you phone with the OFFICIAL ROM (the rom the phone came with).
This rom could be found below (in my signature).
Hope this helps.
Also, once you have the original rom on there you can always reflash to the new 6.1 rom or whatever rom you would like.
Try to download the Tmobile Rom from below (in the official rom section) I have this posted in my signature.

i did exactly as you have told me but it is still stuck on the HTC screen. I turned on the phone, held down the sym button/camera for 10 seconds i tried holding it longer and then plug the usb cable back in but it is still stuck on the HTC screen. thanks
Ok take out the battery, then insert the battery in. Hold the button down and make sure the usb is plugged in the computer and then plug it in to the phone.

alright thanks got it to the boot loading screen/tri color. ok as you have read my previous post... now i can't flash it to any rom. it keep saying the image file is corrupted.. i downloaded everything again and it still says the same thing. When my dash was able to start up i ran the CID bypass and then run the rom installer and it worked but like i said, i accidently dropped it and lost connection. now i can't even run the CID bypass cause i can't even start up the phone... what should i do?
Well you will need to flash it with the original rom the phone came with, i.e. if its a tmobile phone, then you must reflash with the tmobile rom... Once you have the tmobile rom up and running then you can reflash with any other rom i.e. the 6.1 rom.
and you can find the original roms under offical roms below.

Oh no problem, once you have the rom all working then you can download the new 6.1 from below. I recommend using it because its awesome. Also once you install this rom make sure you run connection setup under the tools folder to get the network working.
Would I need the unlock code again?
How do I use that T-Mobile download? It only has a single file? Any guidance welcome.

I get the fundamentals of Simunlock v/s AppUnlock etc.
It was SimUnlocked using Unlock code I had got from T-Mobile.
1. It already has the latest Official ROM version on it (i.e. I tried doing it with the latest T-Mobile) and it shows the version I have is the same.
Do I need to reflash it with the ROM that is aleady present on my DASH? Is it worth trying that?
2. Now the step called AppUnlock? Which tool should I use given that I would have the T-Mobile Carrier 6.1 ROM on it (either already or reflash with T-Mobile 6.1 AGAIN)
3. After AppUnlock should I go for the FLASHing guide? Which one would that be?

HTC Diamond bricked?

i have flashed my diamond with the official htc rom
im on 1.40 olinex, now i can only access boot mode.
sometimes if i leave the phone without a battery for like 2 hours, when i turn it on i see the "touch diamond" logo, if i leave the battery for a whole day i see the windows mobile loading screen, but then suddenly the phone turns off
plz if you have any idea about this problem help me
If you can acces bootloader, then your diamond isn't bricked.
Try the unsigned version of olinex' hard-SPL and flash the ROM again.
Good luck!
hey ElCondor, im on 1.40 olinex, i cant flash it because it is protected
how can i flash the unsigned 1.40 olinex one?
Here is a link to the unsigned hard-spl.
Make sure you download "Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip".
Follow the instructions:
1) Download, extract to an empty folder.
2) Run RomUpdateUtility.exe, Have Phone Synced with PC (go into bootloader, connect your cable, then the word "serial" in bootloader will change into "USB".
3) follow steps, check device for prompts after PC shows loading bar. it should go to black screen now.
4) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
5) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (volume down + reset, i.e. press volume down button and reset then keep holding the volume down key until you see tricolour screen) and verify the screen shows 1.40.OliNex.
note: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!
Installing this will hard-reset your device.
Best Regards,
ElCondor
when i flashed the unsigned 1.40 olinex, the device rebooted
windows mobile is preparing your phone for first use
htc logo
phone went off :S
will try flashing rom again
flashed ROM again, now it wont boot up no htc diamond logo no nothing
i can access boot mode (1.40 olinex unsigned now i guess)
is there no way i can boot the rom? what seems to be my problem?

Hi
If you can access the bootloader then your device is not bricked. Therefore download a rom of your choice then connect to the usb when on the bootloader then use a Diamond custom RUU (normally come with the rom) follow the steps. After rom updated make a hard reset. I hope it will run ok.
Looks your symtons are showing like your rom corrupted.
Good luck
i am flashing this ROM
RUU_Diamond_HTC_Europe_1.93.401.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship
the newest one i downloaded from htc. com is giving me rom update error
would you recommend a good rom for my phone?
after flashing and reflashing and hard resetting with the ROM showed above
still cant boot in ROM mode, only in boot mode
el condor sabes, anything ???
should i flash with a new rom, and if yes with which?
(diam100 olinex 1.40 unsigned)
Perhaps try a custom rom?
I found when flashing to an official rom from a different provider (my phones telstra and was flashing 3) I had issues with the rom booting and had to follow a post on here somewhere to get it working, however When I had this problem I could still flash any custom rom with no issues.
Unless its for warrenty purposes then its probably not worth flashing the "original" perhaps flash A.Z.T.O.R. = Alpha Zero Tweaked Official Roms which are close to the original but with benifits of being modded for faster speed etc.
Anyways Im no pro but I know what you are going through and I am trying to find the link to the fix to your problem as I also had the problem. But recommend trying a custom rom to confirm the problem is the same as mine.
For the record now I do not use official roms anymore, with WM6.5 running well for the most part on the diamond its a great step backwards when you revisited 6.1
flashed to SwiftBL-WWE-Diamond-v7.5-Full-16MbPP
still same problem can only go to boot mode
i am feeling there is no solution to my problem ?
is the phone bricked? :S
If you haven't done yet, flash the hard-spl I posted. Just do it, re-instal the hard-spl! Then, flash another ROM, maybe (as said before) your rom is corrupted.
The problem here is, that you first installed the unsigned hard-spl, and then flashed a corrupt rom. In that way, the hard-spl can be damaged too, so flash the hard-spl again and flash another rom should work.
Good luck!
I did :S but to no avail, I will do it again fingers crossed :S !
update: weird, everytime after i flash the hardspl unsigned, it boots up, i can see the "touch diamond" logo
windows mobile booted.. preparing your device..
update 2: windows mobile booted, installing everything
omgomg it looks it might work this time, fingers still crossed !!
el condor !! haha fingers crossed
update 3 :S : windows mobile installed properly, phone rebooted, went again and opened it, then i heard a sound from the speaker and the phone turned off :S
it must work what could the problem be now? last step !
Okay try a hard-reset, maybe that works.
If not, then flash hard-spl again, then hard-reset, then flash another ROM. Then hard reset. Then try again if it boots.
Is your battery enough charged? That could also be a reason.
did not work, wont even boot up
when i said if i leave battery out and such, I thought it might be hardware/heat related
http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/2069847/HTC+Diamond+-+Severe+Crashing+Problem,+maybe+heat+related
could this be it? will i have to send my phone for repairs?
because maybe when WinMo was loaded, the phone started to heat up and it shut down
so basically my solution is not a software fix??
If none of the tips worked, and you have the same problems as described in the site you linked, then you probably have to send it back.
One thing you could do: Try if the other hard-spls (1.37 and 1.93 unsigned) are working for you.
I'm sorry for you, maybe someone more skilled than me (like cmonex or olipro) knows how to solve your problem.
it's alright :S i thank you for all the help you have offered !
( it is customizing right now) but i expect it to reboot anytime now

Help! Sprint TP2 Not Loading After Attempted ROM Update

Hello,
I am using a Sprint TP2 and just tried changing my ROM from Stock to Energy Leo ROM.
I installed the Hard SPL Unlocker and it seemed to work fine. I then went to flash the new ROM and it seemed to load fine, but upon restarting, it locked on the "Touch Pro2" startup screen.
I am thinking that I probably installed the GSM version of the new ROM, so I will need to install the CDMA version.
I am able to get to the bootloader screen and when I go to directly change the ROM from the GSM version to the CDMA version, the RUU seems to be working, appears to be able to access my phone, and starts the install.
My phone switches to the progress bar screen BUT both my PC and my phone stay at 0% until my PC displays an error message (#262).
What do I do to either re-install the Sprint Stock ROM or get my phone to change to the CDMA version of the ROM??
HELP!!!!
Thanks so much.
Why can't you get the device into bootloader mode?
I read a post about someone else that did the same thing, flash gsm rom to cdma device, and he put his device into bootloader and flashed the cdma rom and everything was back to normal.
I have to try a couple times to get to bootloader mode because its hard to hold down the power button, vol down and press the stylus reset, sometimes i get a friend to help and works out fine.
I'm able to get the device into Bootloader mode but it doesn't do anything when I use the RUU (my phone is attached to my PC via usb), it stays at 0% and then comes up with an error. I'm going to try to see if I can load the new ROM from my micro SD card.... let's hope it works...
UPDATE:
I put the new ROM nbh file onto my micro sd card and put it into my phone and entered bootloader, it flashed a quick screen that said "Loading" and then "No image file found!" and then returned to the bootloader screen. What can I do???
More info:
My bootloader screen reads:
RHOD400 32M SS_BC
SPL-0.63.0000
MicroP(LED) 0x0A
MicroP(Key) 0x04
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
TP MFG DATA
468,512 751,806
768,180 206,210
194,825 Calibrated
Hello, just wondering if anyone was able to help me. This thread has had many views but no suggestions. Anything is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Thank so much!
When you flashed via microSD, did you name the ROM file rhodimg.nbh? It has to be named rhodimg.nbh in order to be detected by the SPL.
Yes, I did make sure that the file was titled that. I'm beginning to think that my phone isn't correctly unlocked, so if that's the case, is there any way of applying Hard-SPL via a Micro SD card?
Did the same mistake, and was also having problems to fix, in my case what was wrong was the card was formated FAT instead of FAT32, after reformat/recopied the CORRECT version of LEO and renamed to RHODIMG.nbh/ Volume Down + Power it worked perfectly!
Hope it helps!
SO CLOSE!! I re-formatted my Micro SD card to FAT-32 and re-inserted the card and loaded my phone into Bootloader and it stayed on the white "Loading" screen with blue letters!!!! GRR!!!! Any ideas? Where can I find a ".nbh" file for the Hard-SPL? Maybe I didn't unlock it correctly??

Yeah, looking at your bootloader readout that you posted in the third post, I now see that you don't appear to have HardSPL on your device. As far as I know, there's no way to apply HardSPL without being able to boot into Windows Mobile, since HardSPL needs a SSPL to flash it. It seems you should flash back the stock ROM, but unfortunately the stock ROM doesn't seem to exist as an official, signed download. I'm not sure what else you can do to unlock with HardSPL, other than wait for the Sprint 6.5 ROM update (expected by end of Q1 2010).

If it says something like "rebuilt", "reconstructed", or anything that indicates that it was dumped off the phone and rebuilt, then no. See, you need a signed ROM, and dumping a stock ROM off a device and rebuilding it breaks the signature on the ROM, so a stock SPL won't flash it.
vol dn pwr on
all you have to do is hold volume dwn then power on.

Thank you guys for all your help, I also flashed a GSM rom to my CDMA phone I was scared I had bricked it.. Nobie here but it worked like a charm

Bricked? Telstra Desire, SLCD HBOOT 0.83

I just recently tried to flash the Rom DeFroST using the Clockworkmod.
I can now not boot into the Rom (I get a looping splash, the cool colourfull nexus one X animation) and if I try boot into clockworkmod, it stalls at the Telstra splash (still image). I also cannot browse any files on the SD card, I have to remove it and insert it into the adpater.
I'm really afraid I've bricked it :/ Can someone help me? I can still get into HBOOT.

your phone is not bricked.
did you root your phone first?
I have a Telstra phone and I had to flash an official WWE ROM first, then use gold card to root my phone and now I can flash any ROM.
My phone came unlocked, it was unlocked by the company from whom I ordered it from. Yes I did root it first. Atleast, I assume I did...
I used the linux version of rewvoked 3 and it completed with out errors. It has been trying to boot for approximately 13 minutes now and is still stuck on the animated nexus one splash...
It is now into its 21st minute, I somehow doubt it's going to boot

Unlocked and rooted are two different things. Is this your first flash of a custom ROM for the Desire?
Whenever you flash a ROM for the first time it does take a LONG time for it to process. I don't remember how long, can't tell you if 15 min is to long. You can always re-flash by putting the phone into recovery mode manually and using the USB method for flashing.
Yes this is my first ROM.
That's the problem, the phone stalls if I try and put the phone into recovery mode... :/ Unless that too is meant to take a very long time?
Ok, surely 1/2 an hour is beyond what it should take?

did you read ALL of this before you started (not trying to insult you in anyway, just question) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189

Yes I did, although I did end up following separate guides as my boot loader was 0.83 as opposed to 0.8 and 0.75 or whatever those guides included. Ok, start over. Sounds good... I'll try that, but you'll likely hear back from me!

My boot is .80, I am not sure if it changed when I flashed an official ROM first. I did that to get rid of all the Telstra stuff.
One thing you can try is to flash an official WWE ROM first. Then after you can go onto a custom ROM.

here is the link to official ROM for the HTC Desire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
They may have a radio in them as well. Once you flash one make sure your desire works. Then try flashing your custom ROM. Many custom ROM's need to have the latest radio so make sure you follow the instruction for that ROM and the radio that ROM uses.

one more thing, once you get an official ROM working, go to market and download ROM manager, use it to flash a custom ROM, it might work better for you.
Ok thankyou! But to me a radio is a small transistor based device that uses variable capacitance in order to change frequencies... What is it in this case?
By the way, I thank you for your help, you've been of great assistance!
EDIT: One more thing, that's a lot of roms, which one do I want? Any? do I want signed or unsigned?
Ok I'm even more confused, they're mostly .exe's, how do I use them?
EDIT: It also says they're not rooted, does that mean I have to re-root my phone again?
Having the exact same problem as you, also a telstra phone.
Boots and gets stuck on the "X" colored animation.
If you get it going, please post here what you did

A radio is the software that works your phone, GPS and wifi portions of the device.
use the first ROM on the list. Hold the volume down key and press the power key at the same time, hold them until you enter the recover screen. it will take about 30 sec to process, use the volume down key to select clear storage follow the instructions and this should set your phone back to factory setting (using the last ROM that worked on your phone). Your phone should be working and you should be able to boot-up.
From this point you will be able to connect your phone to your PC then click on the ROM (exe file) and follow the instructions to flash the official ROM
let me know what happens.
Ok so i need a windows PC? I'm on Ubuntu.
My Windows decided to implode after an update earlier this evening. Will probably leave that to download and go to bed. I'll post here tomorrow with how I get on tomorrow morning!

help please

Hello,
I havent been here since my s7 edge, but im in need of some help. I did a update today on my stock sprint S9 and it was updating and got stuck at 35%. Okay cool, so just go into bootloader and factory reset right? No, I boot into the bootloader than it automatically loops back to " system install update" and starts the progressing update and gets stuck again or somehow, it loops into the "power by android logo" if that makes sense..
I'm not sure how to get my phone to work again, but im asking for your assistance. Havent updated or root my s9, so I currently have no idea of rooting or anything here. Also, its not possible to enter developer mode since the phone does not fully boot, but loop. Is it possible to get the phone to fully boot again w/o any rooting, etc? Its been awhile lol.
Thank you for your time, Tuan.

Also, its not possible to enter developer mode since the phone does not fully boot, but loop. Is it possible to get the phone to fully boot again w/o any rooting, etc? Its been awhile lol.
Thank you for your time, Tuan.

See if you're able to get into download mode and Odin the latest CSAB firmware: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1huOYnY6_7Rpjlj-8lDAo68lOJ-_usULs/view

How long did you wait for it when it was stuck?
Grab the latest firmware from the samfirm tool here on XDA (Or link above will be quicker)
Boot the phone into Download Mode "Volume Down & Bixby & Power" from a powered off state
Load the 4 sections of firmware into Odin 3.13.1 (Use CSC not HOME_CSC)
Connect phone to PC USB
Hit start and wait for it to complete
All being well it should reboot the phone into Android

Waited about 30minutes when it was installing the "system update" and it loop for hrs until the phone died. When trying to get into bootloader it loops the system install and updates something instead of going to bootloader.
Phone is up and running. Thank you both so so much, you do not know how much I appreciate the help getting my phone back and running.
Thank you again, Tuan.
