hello,
i could not find a related thread, nor could i find a thread with any info... im sure it's somewhere but the ammount of energy wasted searching is much greater than typing this....
so, could someone please explain how to decode the xml so i can edit....
purty please,,,, with a cherry on the side....unless you really want it on top!
For real, searching? It is a sticky in this section, meaning it is always at the top of the first page. Are you kidding me you couldn't find this thread?
Not trying to make you feel stupid, but c'mon, wasted energy? It was right in front of you, just try looking up (or down) sometimes... it may help in life.
ya, i did look buddy...-.-
i swear, i searched for an hour and a half, i really didnt see it... i looked at all the sticky's a couple times cause i know i seen it before... i dont know it must have been highlited or not.. i dont know,,,, i just didnt see....-.-
sorry for offending the forum for asking instead of finding it myself....
anyway thanx, hope you feel better for correcting me...
thanx!
edit: that thread doesnt explain how to decode them, it merely gives a link to edited xml's and says that it is edited through the binary build..... but thanx anyway
thats because at the moment they can't be fully decoded. only hex edited.
looking forward to the day they are though
ok, purrfect, thats the answer i was lookin for... to bad i dont hex...
thanx man!
ooooops. post in the wrong thread. delete me

if u want help, start by helping urself n change the f*#kin heading
sick to death of noobs crying n whinging n complaining with pls help... pls pls pls pls help
no amount of begging is going to help, be clear, be precise, be concise
oh yeah, rtfw or search the forums and stop begging, its sickening, annoying and frustrating
What an Arse Hole- 'SIMPLE SIMON'
You know Simon 'Simple Simon' you were once a newbie too so get off your high horse before you fall flat on you f***king face
What a jerk, I'm asking for Help, nicely because I thought this was a friendly forum that someone can help me. I did search but didn't find an answer, that what's new threads are for, you arse hole
Yes I've check the notification box, yes its the right type
It plays when I press the play button, but when I received a call or SMS, NO SOUND
Noone is asking you for your precious time if you dont want to damn well give it, bottom line is when you see a thread you don't like, see the door arse hole TAKE A HIKE
I agree the title is going to get peoples backs up considering its only a few sounds which do not work.
Do the sms files actually play manually in media player , are they corrupted?
Try selecting no sounds ok you way back out and then turn them all back on. (might reset any duff reg entries)
Failing that a hard reset will probably be quickest way to sort it?

Well to start with you can tell us what you have installed and have you chnaged any reg keys???
If you dont give information how the heck do you what help.
Please help my phone is broken
How many poeple are going to help me on that one!!! you get the hint! When you give no useful information, you get no useful replies!!!!
What The F**********
If you read my first post I told you what i've install and even uploaded some of my registery files
what else do you want from me!!!!!
Problem that I see is that RickyJune has posted many My Phone won't work - here's no information but I want a psychic to fix it for me because I'm too lazy to research for my self threads.
Everytime I see a RickyJune thread I almost know the first response will be 'please give more information' or something of that nature.
That's so not f***king true

I did search, and if you do a search and come up with the answer I'll be f***king surprise
Secondly I did give you all the info, my signature tells you what phone and OS im using, I posted my registry file that I thought was useful and I told you what software I'm running. and said if you need more pls ask
ITS ALL THERE IN MY FIRST POST JERK FACE IF YOU CAN BE BOTHERED TO READ!!!!!
God you people are half-harden b*****ds
Yeah many people who could help have become hardened to the "Pls Help" posts.
If you search for a particular problem (BTW Use the Google search as well on this forum) and can't find any answers then it's most probable that the problem is just peculiar to yourself.
Have you done a hard reset and do you still have the problem on a 'clean' install?
Oh my God a decent human being
thank you Wam7,
I decided to Hard Reset tonite when I get home, but its the last resort I thought maybe someone had any ideas before I did that, I wish I didn't bothered asking now,

Well for starters you can quit with the triple posting of threads for the same problem... and then a better subject to the thread... And then smaller letters... If you dont recieve a lot of replies from ones with the right titles its because no one has your answer, as its more than likely 3rd party software causing your issue, this is why the hard reset corrected your problem... be more descriptive, im sure you have more than that piece of junk wisbar advance installed on your device.. If you want answers it helps to know everything, ALL software installed, etc....
You know, while I realize that it can be annoying as hell when someone asks about the Touch Plugin, SMS threader, insert your whatever here, especially when there's a thread on that very thing about three lines down from the top, responding to a thread by saying "Use the search function, noob," really doesn't help a whole lot. I just spent half an hour pouring over about 30 god-damned threads filled with irrelevant bullsh!t and flame wars about how the original poster should use the search function. Well you know what? I DID use the search function, and ended up getting post after post telling me to do so. Every time we respond to a post without answering it, it shows up later to screw someone over who's actually been doing what they should. So please, if you must tell some new-comer to search before posting, at least follow it up by telling him where to find his answer, so it doesn't affect the rest of us later.
Alternatively, perhaps the mods could delete these threads entirely. And while they're at it, if they could improve the search feature, that'd be great too, because it totally sucks right now. Can't search "SMS" or "3G" or anything else under three letters, which can be kind of a big deal around here. Doesn't have quotation function. Lots of room for improvement.
Wow. Looks like you got it all figured out now.
You're right, the integrated search kinda blows. Try this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298893
2 letters, 3 letters, quotes, you name it. It's a sticky in the 'Hermes' forum. But should be in all of the forums IMHO.
BTW, make sure you include Hermes in the search term to get Hermes specific results.

Don't worry... It's 3am in my time, and US Public Schools isn't much better!
I have to say that its not just this forum that people insist on stating the obvious e.g. use the search.
I'm a firm believer in the philosophy of if you haven't got anything constructive or useful to say then don't say it.. e.g. don't be a smart @rse, don't post "use the Search" if it winds you up then ignore it and look away...
not working :-(
Wow, you are so helpful, only its a shame you posted about a thread a month old, that you apparently didn't even fully read.
Keep up the excellent work.
Mods might wanna close this one bcuz this guy is about to get torched.

Your question is just like asking someone if you should try sushi. Some love it and some hate it. Why don't you just try it and see. Themeing is not easy but its easier for some people than others.
So I was going through just about all the posts yesterday and ran through the FAQ as well and couldn't find the answer. Anyway to get the backlight to turn on for the keyboard. Realized it doesn't automaticaly turn on last night when I tried to text in the dark =P

Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
there is only one solution for that at the moment, i believe. B4 u boot up Android, while in windows mobile, open up the keyboard so the light comes on. then start up Android. whatever lights are on b4 the boot, will stay on the entire session unless u boot back to windows mobile. ur keyboard lights will stay on constantly, even with it closed.
there ya go, easy, simple, nighttime wrkaround ;-)
ya i figured that =/ thatll suck the heck out of the battery tho. i appreciate the response tho. I was surfin through and found there's basicaly an equivalent to "cooking for dummies" on the forum so im gonna start gettin into developing and see if i can help contribute to perfecting 2.1 for everybody as far as workin on what needs to be fixed. btw off context i was really interested in the overclockin but i cant find where to enter it in the startup.txt so i copy and pasted the code with my desired frequency. did i do it right?

interested in overclocking huh? lol no problem . i could write u an essay detailing it but it might be easier just to just go to the Rhodium Android Project page. theres a section on overclocking and startup txts. If u cant get it going, juss post back here or send me a PM and ill upload mines for u. then all u have to do is make a backup copy of the original startup txt(for just in case). then delete it, the startup txt in andboot folder. then just download mines in there. In the main rhodium android thread ive posted mines up. its a few pages back though..lol also Atmosphere does a good explanation of the overclocking also. let me know when u ready if u cant get it to wrk.
Demandarin, I think you need to do a [MOD] thread on overclocking to consolidate all your info there. Jussayin.

i feel ya on that one. lol It is explained on the Project page but no one really be lookin at it...lmfao that might be a good idea though. I know im all over these threads with the overclockin thing. It seems as if i started a revolution or somethin. Everyone wants to overclock now. which theres nothing wrong with that. its just if people devices start goin on the fritz, they gonna look at me...lmao people have to do the research first on it, instead of just jumping in blindly and then wondering how to take care of issues when they arise. It goes for anything having to do with modifying ur device. good idea though. i just might do that. or someone might beat me to the punch.
