Mapping Hardware key to a letter - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hello all,
I need to map a letter, say 'i', to a hardware key, say the Green Button. So when I click or double click the green button its like I pushed the 'i' key on a QWERTY keyboard.
I have tried AEBplus and it seems it cannot do this.
I have a HTC Touch CDMA model.
Thanks,
livens

WM 6.1, change key mapping Back to End

My End key (the red button) stops working. Does anyone know how to change the key mapping so that I can use a different button (let say the back button) as the END/Stop button. The phone is working fine however, I can't end the conversation because the button is not working. It's driving me nut. Please help. Thanks

AE Button plus will do it. You can set it to any key you want, with single, double, or triple press, or even a long press. It cost 7.99, but much cheaper than a phone.
maybe I need to go this route. Thanks
Does anyone know which button is which number? Like to change the wheel into a volume control is it key 6?
I'm an idiot... not in the kaiser forum... damn search lol

Hardware key mapping

Hello,
I can't read anywhere why it's not possible to set hardware key mappings for keys other than phone answer.
Also using HButton I can't assign functions to home, back, end, vol up,vol down, ... is there a way?
Where can I read more?
AE Button plus works perfect for back key, volume key, green and red key

Weird keyboard behaviour

When I hold down the Menu button at the home screen, it brings up the keyboard. Is there a purpose for this?
Not sure but it does it on the HTC Tattoo too aswel as on my Desire.
Yep, this should be OK, I think this is for when pressing a text field doesn't actually bring up the keyboard for some reason..

FN Key not working correctly

Hi, I have a Rhodium with a strange keyboard layout. In the lower left corner ist the yellow FN key. Some other keys have additional yelloy sign, e.g. "N" has "\", "M" has "/" and so on. To my understanding I need to press the FN key first followed by the N key to get the \. This doesn't work. Pressing the FN key doesn't light the LED (the LED for the Shift key works OK) so I believed the FN key might be damaged. Now I found that pressing FN + H works like Backspace and FN + Y deletes the whole line. So FN is working but it does something I don't understand. Does anyboday have an idea how to fix that? I looked into the et9 files in the Windows folder but that didn't help me.
Regards, Michael
I assume you have custom rom on your phone... if so you might need to install a fix. do a search for hardware keyboard fix. sounds like you have the t-mobile version?

Why does my physical keyboard stop functioning?

From time to time the physical keyboard stops responding. None of the buttons work, not even the search, menu, home, and back buttons. The touch buttons do work. The only way I have found to fix is to reboot the phone.
I have exactly the same problem from time to time. Normally after unlocking the phone. It seems if I leave it for a while (locked) it does start working again, but a reboot does fix it always.
okay, my keyboard is still functioning, but I choose to post here instead of making a new thread for my concern is also keyboard based.
Does everyone have uses the ALT key for entering numbers consecutively? I also do but quite a pain because unlike the SHIFT key, when I press it twice, it toggles CAPS LOCK, my ALT key does not toggle 2nf functions (blue keys) only when I double press. Is this normal? should I type fast to be able to get 2nd functions consecutively? thanks

My alt key enters a blue key on the first press(one time), double pressing the alt key toggles blue keys instead of regular keys.
On my phone pressing Alt twice locks it and you can tell because the cursor changes. There are a couple of combinations. You can Alt lock and Shift lock at the same time. Again the cursor changes to show this.
Mine doesn't. I see the cursor change, but if i press a key or two, it will turn off the toggle....geeze and it's not defenitely a hw issue...
But if i toggle the alt key, i can type blue characters but i need to be fast..
EDIT: I think I have solved the issue now....I replaced my onscreen/virtual keyboard by the default one.....and now I can type 1234567890 without pain....I installed a 3rd party keyboard and think that triggers the issue. If someone could replicate, that will be appreciated. Thanks for everything.
