Selling Tytn with WM 6.0 on it

Hello there all, I was looking for a little advise. I am planning on selling my tytn on ebay and Iam running one of the copies of wm 6 on it. Sholud I start over with ver 5.0 or just sell it the way it is. I just don't want anyone here getting into any trouble over it. Thanks for the advice.

I have seen these sold on ebay before with WM6 preloaded but they didnt mention who made the wm6 just that it came with it preflashed, I am sure you dont have any problems if anything it will actualley be worth more to people that dont know any better to get it themselves.

My two pence worth
My suggestion would be to make it clear in the auction that it comes with WM6 pre-loaded, but that you can convert it back to WM5 before posting if the winning buyer requests it. That way, best of both worlds!
Besides, you know of ANYONE interested in Windows / WM who wanted a LOWER version number once a higher one was available?!? We'd buy a Fiesta over a Ferrari as long as it was badged as an Enzo v2.0....

I have seen some auctions get removed for selling phones like the hermes with wm6 on it since it technically hasnt been officially released yet..

I have also seen some that have went for a pretty penny with wm6 on it and thought about selling mine just because of it LOL

I friend of mine just bought as 8525 which WAS advertised as having WM6. He bought it for about $500 cad. shipped.
When he got it, I told him how to look into the WM6 version. It had Black 2.5 on it.

I will go out on a limb and guess it is at that link in his sig on rapidshare - called Shadowmite_ROM_v1.rar (or something like that)

Flattering though it may be, if it were me I'd be contacting the seller and "suggesting" they not be selling it with a WM6 cooked ROM. IMO, it puts XDA in a precarious position. I found one running CUSTEL's ROM a couple weeks ago and the listing was subsequently cancelled after I notified him of it.

I know people who purchased phones from distributors in Europe with LVSW ROMs pre-installed

And may i add knowing Shadow he might just come out with the best ROM we have seen so far. But thats just a personal hunch from my experience with his work back in the Palm days

I'd be tempted to notify that seller that there are atleast 2 porkies on that auction, but Im sure they already know.
1. The main listing it is described as new. (later its described as lightly used)
2. Its described as still under warranty.

IF your ROM is nothing special and you don't distribute it, how come this guy has a copy?
You wouldn't be selling an 8525 on ebay now would you?

i think wheather or not someone sells a modded phone running wm6 should be between the author of the rom and the seller not anyone else. there are some people out there that would just rather pay for someones time rather than taking the risk of flashing a rom themselve. further more the amount of crying some members do about noob questions being asked i dont see why anyone should care other than the seller and chef. if it was your rom and you had an issue with someone selling there phone with it on it then you should contact the seller. i have sold several phones with roms on them other than the ones i have cooked and i make sure i donate money to not only the cooks but others as well. you are not the ebay police and there are plenty of sites to links to roms for these phones xda is not the only one i h8 to burst your bubble. and by the way if you werent paying attention the roms have been removed from xda if you remember. so he didnt get it from here so no reason why M$ should be worried anymore. obviously shadowmite doesnt care so dont consern your self with things that dont consern you. im not trying to be a **** but people such as yourself are not bending over backwards to help people mod there phones so if someone is nice enough to offer it you shouldnt bother them. feel free to pm me if you would like to have a further discusion no reason to bring this back up in the forum to bring any unwanted attention.

Honestly though, with these dang threads around here asking questions like "Why is everybody around here a-holes?" and such, it's good to read light-hearted humor. I think we can always use another ROM chef around here~! It'd be cool to check out your dish as well.

I'm selling my JasJam in a few days time and it will go with i-mate's own ROM in it; everything will be as it were: IPL, SPL, OS, ExtROM and Radio. Luckily with the latest radio ROMs all traces or previous adventures with SuperCID and all can be wiped.

is there an offical 8525 wm6 upgrade available

sorry totaly confused with all the links in the forum. Is there an offical rom upgrade to wm6 for the 8525. going to htc americas website there is a rom available update but is it actualy wm6 they dont say. Thanks in advance

I don't think that AT&T has released this officially as an upgrade yet. I don't think it's on the HTC site as an AT&T/Cingular upgrade.
But, there are reports of new 8525s being bought with WM6 already installed from AT&T. This is probably how the upgrade made its way here - someone dumped it out of a phone that was shipped with it already installed.

Newbie Alert - New Compact III German style &%*(^

After we purchased the T-Mobile Compact III, they told us that it would not switch to english. Now I am here and being flooded with Too Much Info. Could someone help out a poor sucker get this thing backed up, reflashed with an english version and maybe find a free GPS program? The only thing keeping me from running some of the stuff that I have found is backing up my current ROM. I want to be able to put the T-Mobile ROM back on the thing just in case....
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and probably by many service members here in Germany who will soon end up in my shoes.

Maybe my question was not clear....
I may have not stated my question clearly. I am looking for the T-Mobile German ROM that comes with the T-Mobile MDA Compact III here in Germany, or a way to back up the ROM on my Artemis...
I want to have the factory ROM on hand in case I have to reflash it back to original config... Once I have this or back it up, I can flash which ever rom I need. I do not want to end up with a brick that I cannot try to return to the original config.
Any help would be appreciated.

Growing Pains
Well, I have flashed my MDA with several ROMS to see which one my wife likes best. Risky, I know, but ya gotta please the missus...
I was disappointed that the WiFi was disabled in the german models, as it would have saved alot of money for us... O2 Germany's MDA's are WiFi enabled I found out today.
I am also disappointed that the GPS is very hard to get working. T-mobile cannot explain how to do it, and I am making that my next project.
For those who read this thread and decided that I was wasting space, sorry. I have read through about 45% of all artemis threads over the past 48 hours and my brain is thoroughly scrambled with TMI.
So far, Artemis Touch full version is the one that my wife likes, and I like it too. We tried the O2 ROM, but it is not compatible with the T-mobile network for some reason...(lol) Since I am still new, I have not learned how to flash a ROM using an .rar file yet, but with more thread reading I should be able to learn this as well.
BT Rom would not flash either, stating that it was the wrong model number. Found that in a thread as well... Next up... GPS...

Zuka Z8888 LTE anyone?

Hey.
So I got this phone a few weeks ago, it came from a friend of a friend, who had gotten it somewhere probably in Asia. I had been trying hard to root it, which I achieved through many "universal" root apps combined, sorta kinda.
But now I struggle to find matching ROMs. Indeed, as much as I've googled ans searched the name of my phone, nothing but obscure chinese selling websites came out. No trace of it on xda. No trace on any english or french forum as far as I can tell (I'm from France by the way, bonjour!).
So is there a chance some of you might enlighten me regarding ROMs or the phone? It's running on Android 4.4.4
The phone itself is quite decent by the way, at least for the price I paid
