Herm 100 no gsm - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hi boss i have herm 100 after flashing there is no gsm pls help me what is the next stage

You must test to flash a new ROM RADIO. (only a rom radio)..

You could try just a radio rom, or even an entire stock shipped rom.

Or better yet, Try the SHIPPED STOCK ROM... Yhis should stabilize any problem areas on the radio ROM as it was supposed to be there. Sometimes the updated stock roms will work too as the CID is the right one. Hard SPL gets you around needing the correct CID but I find it still lurks in the background waiting for problems like this...
Cheers...

try one of the above recommendations...
btw, what rom did you flash? do you have hardspl? what is your current radio?

WM6.1 ROMS - Why remove radio?

I have limited experience with ROM flashing - so please pardon this question if it is dumb. I have searched but have not found a good answer to this question.
I have flashed to the latest Kavana ROM, and find it excellent. However, I still have my original T-Mobile (WM6) Radio onboard.
Can someone explain why the ROMs are being built based on the latest Brightpoint ROM but are not including that Radio version. 03.07.90 I believe is the radio version.
I even saw in a Wi-Fi thread where Kavana had actually recommended to someone to install that Radio on top of his ROM - but yet it is not part of the ROM update.
Is there a reception issue with that radio? OR, is there a problem with flashing radio ROMs?
Thanks in advance.
To be honest, i used to wonder why too, but if you just want a ROM and don't want to change your radio version (in case you actually have no problems with your radio version) then that's why they are split. Some people have side effects sometimes after updating their radio version. And if all ROMS had a radio, then you'd be stuck with whatever radio it came with. Now with the official ROMS they do have a radio included (most of the time) but a lot of cooked ROMs will exclude the radio simply to focus on the functionality of the device , not necessarily the device's connectivity
liverpool:
if you don't like the tmobile radio (who doesn't right?)... you could just flash the latest wm6 rom by HTC which is way better than the tmo rom and slightly better (depending on who you ask) than the rogers rom... which will give you the latest radio, and then flash with kavana's rom to get wm6.1 on there.
you can flash just the radio... but i think i read someone say that it causes problems with kavana's rom so best to just flash the full HTC rom and then upgrade to 6.1 from there.

Keats -- do you know what some of the updates to the radio are between the stock (v4.1.13.34_02.79.90 on mine) and the one included in the wm6 rom from HTC? When you say it's "better" -- how so? I have no problems with either GSM radio or wifi (though my signal strength was much better on ATT...)
not specifically. i think the radio differences just ammount to better reception in general. actual funtional differences have nothing to do with the radio and are specific to each rom.

I've been away but....

Hi Guys,
I've been away for a few month and now that I'm back I'm a little confused.. I'm running the Artemis Touch 4.02 WWE Rom dated 4/8/08, radio version 03.08.90 and prot. 4.1.13.52.
All the update info on the site now seems to have smaller radio numbers. Am I looking in the wrong place for updates to this ROM?? I now have several more Orbits to upgrade..
Richie
Ah, OK. Well that's a shame that Mark has retired. So what ROM now?
missing meschle as well
I also have been away for some time. I like the manilla looks but as I read the threads no one can convince me with a stable rom.
so I guess I have to stick with the old touch rom.
well you can separately install other radio ROM
it wont affect your current ROM

When you're done flashing the official stock Rom, you'll need to flash the stock SPL for warrenty reason. Search the forums its in here somewhere.
If its a 1.93 version Rom your installing, then you'll need the 1.93 SPL
Happy flashing

ROM Upgrade Help

Hello All,
I am in a fix right now . I ordered HTC Diamond from Rogers and got a french phone instead. I really cant do anything with that. Now I called rogers and they say they dont have touch english in stock anymore and dont expect it soon too. I have two choices only, flash with WWE ROM or return it back. I really dont wanna return it back but I am kinda new to all SPL thing. I want to flash it. I have experience in flashing my HTC Excalibur 3-4 times.
I just have two questions to ask and if you can answer them I will get to keep the phone or else I would have to send it back.
1. My current SPL version is 1.93 . So before flashing to a new rom which SPL should I flash it to. There are tons floating around. Can u pin point to me please.
2. Will any ROM work with the SPL?
I will really appreciate your help .
Thank you
UPDATE: I just found out there is a ROGERS WWE ROM on xda. Do I need to HARD SPL it or I can just change the ROM?
Yup, you'll still need to put the HardSPL on to allow you to change the device, as your changing it's region as far as the device knows.
Use this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=101134&d=1216793074
It's Olinex's HardSPL for 1.93 (same one I used), works perfect.
Just make sure you follow the instructions on the flasher.
Thanks for your quick reply Phoenix..
I appreciate this...
Once SPL is done I can flash with any ROM right?
Thanks again...
Yup, no problem and lots of choice lol

which rom update to get? current version 1.37.707.1 WWE

hi guys
as you can see im a total noob to the forums and to updating ROMs on the diamond
my htc diamond is running rom version
version: 1.37.707.1 WWE
date: 06/10/08
radio version: 1.00.25.03
protocol version: 52.26a.25.09H
i find that phone lags a bit and slows down especially when im unlocking with my password.
it also lags a bit when im activating the keyboard to write a sms..
so i guess i was hoping somebody could guide me in the right direction to get the latest rom update, and how do i do it.
i can see there are some custom roms around...so i have no idea whats the best way to proceed..
ive tried to download the latest rom update from the HTC site but it says that my device is not supported?
i dunno, cause i entered in the serial number located under the battery...
so im hoping somebody here can help me out..
thanks!
subs.
More info...
What's your diamond model number? It's under the battery.
You should look into HardSPL and then check out the official ROM's and Cooked ROM's and make a decision on which one you want to flash your phone with. Read the forum's and how-to's for more info...but first you should work out what version of the diamond you have before you go looking for ROM's...also, always HardSPL before you flash!
Good luck.
under the battery it says
HTC P3700 DIAM100
is that what you are referring to?
hi you really need to read this first and then read it again http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211 or you could brick your phone

yeah, ive been reading that and im slowly starting to understand what i have to do...
i would like to do this rom update on my phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=423418
so from what i understand i first have to install a unsigned hardspl, any recommendations on which version i should use?
1.23
1.24 or
1.34 ?
i was going to use 1.24 only because i saw somebody post saying they used it and had no problems, but if i should use one of the other ones because it will work better then please let me know.
after doing the hardspl install i was going to backup all my contacts and then do the rom update.
am i missing any steps?
do i have to do a radio update before a rom update?
I use HardSPL 1.40 and had no problems so far so I havent updated it to 1.93.
I would recommend one of the new roms 2.03 (official or cooked, it depends on what you'd like ).

Install hardspl 1.40 or 1.93 (I use 1.93, but didn't have problems in the short time I used 1.40) hardspl and then install any rom you like. Just try to read as much as you can because chances are, any question you have, someone else has had it and it's on the board for you to read.
ok cool, i will install hardspl 1.40 and then that rom i mentioned
at the moment i dont have any questions, i will follow that thread that explains how to update roms and hope for the best
1 last question, i did do a search but didnt really find any definite answers...
if i brick my phone *touch wood i dont*
will it be difficult to unbrick it?

if you brick your phone, the only option left is to claim warranty.
And i believe the only step that could possibly brick your phone is flashing HardSPL, right guys?
I was in the same state of anxiety when I did my first ROM flashing. Thankfully it all went smoothly.
My 2 cents :
1, Think about what you are gaining by a ROM upgrade. If your phone is working well out of the box and your routine functions are satisfied, you are well off with you stock ROM. I flashed a couple of ROMs and now I am with my stock and I am perfectly fine.
2, Read this -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211 and this -> http://www.modmydiamond.info/ And if you understand every single letter of it only proceed.
Happy flashing
i have a diam100. can i flash it to a WWE dutty rom?
thanks for all the help guys, but i decided to flash my htc with the original rom from the htc site.
for the moment it runs like a dream and has fixed all my lag issues.
so im gonna stick with that....for the moment
It's important that you feel comfortable crossing over......but I have to say, when you decide to cross, it's an exhilarating feeling to know that you can select what ever Rom from, what I think are, top notch chiefs here but also the fun continues by selecting which ever Radio.
Many post on here that say, "I bricked my phone," truly didn't brick anything. They just hit a wall so they panic. Hard SPL really does a good job. So the chances of your bricking this device is not as high as some people think..
