Bluetoothing Images - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to view thumbnails of images in a folder and then be able to bluetooth them from there, since HTC album doesnt have a send via bluetooth option and both file viewers I have dont display thumbnail previews (the std file explorer that comes with Dutty's 1.8 XTREME ROM and the latest resco file explorer)
I'm aware of the preview image function in the std file explorer but it seems pretty useless without a D-PAD as there is no way to highlight a file without fully opening it.
Sorry if this has been posted before - I have been searching all morning for an answer and can't seem to find anything.

bump
anyone any ideas?

Have you tried the built in picture viewer. Not htc album but the winmo one? That allows to view thumbs and then send. Or theres an extension for the basic file explorer that previews images on here... cant remember the name but you could search for it.

the winmo picture viewer is exactly what i was after, hadnt tried that one, thank u v much!

Hello to All
As you noted, the version TT7.915.9196
includes that can navigate to pictures GEO Tagg
With this guide, you can use the function without having to use HTC FootPrint:
Create a folder named GEO-PHOTOS in ROOT
your SD
Open your camera and take a picture with the "GPS Photo"
Copy your photos in the GEO-PHOTOS
Start the TT7.915, navigate to ... and your picture will appear!
This all works on my HTC HD and it works
To find your photo, if you have to save the picture in SD,
out by the function of the camera, you will find the photos in My Document / My POI
That's very interesting. Should be usefull, but still there is no posibility to save current position.

wow - works like a charm, thank you very much
Perhaps worth mentioning for the uninitiated that (I presume) you will need to have GPS Photo enabled in the registry to be able to take those pictures in the first place.

Dear alesscam,
I have installed TT7.915 successfully on my HD. It works fine. Gets GPS fix quicker than TT7.10. I am keen to get the geo-photo function working.
I did not use the cab file to install, but copied all the files into the existing Navigator folder (from TTV7.910 install). Could I have a missing registry entry?
I have followed your guide and created a GEO-PHOTOS in the root of the HD memory.
I have GPS Photo enabled via HD Tweak.
I made sure that the GPS was on and had a fix prior to taking a photo with the on board camera.
I copied the photo to the GEO-PHOTOS folder.
Started TT and went to navigate to - Photos.
tapped the icon. No photo is displayed.
What am I doing wrong?
You mention SD. Exactly what are you referring to?
When I look at the folder where the photo is, it contains my photo as well as a file called thumbs_geo.dat I think this the geo code data required by TT to locate the picture on its map.
Thank you for sharing and looking forward to your help.
Best wishes,
David

Not sure if you got it working already. You are suppose to create the folder in ROOT of your memory card and not HD memory.

[TIP] Hide unwanted images / music in Gallery / media player

Hi folks,
Been trying for a while to figure out a way to exclude images from my Gallery3D app (the one taken from the Nexus One) as well as certain audio files from my media player. Things like application images, battery icons etc as well as audio from SatNav were being picked up by apps that I really didn't want to have 'seeing' them.
Anyway, the way to exclude a folder is to insert a .nomedia file. You can create this using any text editor on your PC. Open a new file and save it as '.nomedia' (making sure to save it as 'All files' rather than '.txt' if using Notepad). Then copy this file to your phone into the various folders you want excluding.
Et voila! You may need to restart your phone.
Sounds like you can also use a terminal application, although I've not tested this:
cd /sdcard/(dir you want to exclude)
touch .nomedia
I saw a similar thread relating to audio, I just thought it's worth mentioning it works for Gallery too - everytime I searched this forum I couldn't find anything.
Original info: http://androinica.com/2009/08/28
Hope this helps.
rich
Instead of txt file you can also create (empty)folder called .nomedia
Good knowledge Benko! Thanks.
Nice tip. Going to use it now.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Nice tip! Thanks!
I can now keep my "Private" videos on my phone

[Q] Edited InternetPortal-en-US.xml ...now the internet tab won't even read the file.

Ok, so I recently posted asking about editing the internet tab on the touchflo. After a lot of searching I found the answer. So, after finding the file I attempt to edit it. Nope...it's write protected do my XML editor can't save...nor can a text editor save. So I copy it to the desktop (and stupidly didn't make a backup copy before doing all this following...) I edit it. Hooray, I think I did what I wanted. So I copy the desktop file, paste it in the manila folder on my phone...****! I didn't make a copy of the original. Well, that's gone. Hope it worked...
...it did, kinda. Well now touching the internet world icon will open skyfire like I told it (or maybe because skyfire is the default system browser, and the xml is no longer there telling it to use opera) but it brings me to the standard error 404 kind of screen. Something about it not being able to find /search//home.
Furthermore, I wanted to get rid of the standard permanent bookmarks on the internet tab. I deleted the youtube link, basically everything but facebook just to get started. Well now the internet tab only shows youtube...one of the ones I deleted. WHAT THE HELL IS MY PHONE READING FROM? Clearly it isn't reading the InternetPortal-en-US.xml
Someone please help me out. This phone is pissing me off.

HTC Desire HD - Text viewer for large txt files

Hi everyone, I thank you in advance for helping me on this matter:
I recently switched to HTC DHD from E71, and I have a big problem with viewing the attached file with DHD. Standard viewer and QuickOffice won't even open it, and the other solutions that I came across if they can open the file the search function is unavailable, or inadequate.
Since I am a doctor, and this txt file is a national medical formulary, it has been an invaluable resource for me in everyday practice. I used to view it with LCG X-plore on E71 and easily search for the name of the therapeutic with an easy find-next option. Now, on much more powerful device - the HTC Desire HD, I can't even open it, and if I can, the search function is not as nearly functional as it was on good ol' E71. I believe that this must be just me being newbie in Android, and my question is following:
PLEASE recommend me a simple TXT viewer capable of opening the attached LARGE TEXT file (1,7MB) with FIND and FIND NEXT functions.
Thank you!
R
PS cool reader hangs on second start, and iReader also doesn't do the job.

Docs To Go doesn't support .txt files.
Edit: Try this, http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=xplore&page=download&platform=android it's an explorer but makes a very good text viewer for large txt files.

help me please for video

hey any one can tell me that how to hide video?????????????
or any sofware wwhich hide video from galary????????????????
Explain what you want in better words, please. I think i won't be the only one who does not understand what you posted.
I think the guy wants to know if there is any way to hide video from the gallery.
Simple. No or at least not to my knowledge anyway. Gallery reads everything that is image and video related, no matter what it is and shows it. You could use other apps and just not include that folder, but nontheless it would still be on there.

Okay, this could be. If, i would advise the same.
Well, since Android is linux based, you put a . in front of the file name (e.g. -> IMAGE066.jpg to .IMAGE066.jpg) - it won't show up in ES File Explorer, but not sure about the gallery.
Also you can transfer the files you don't want to see into a separate folder (e.g. Secret) and when you open gallery, you hit Menu and select Show/ Hide albums and deselect the Folder you don't want to see (maybe sense 2.1 or newer ROMs needed).
Third alternative: use B-Folders
Stick stuff you want to hide in a separate folder and put a file called .nomedia in the folder.
Your stuff shouldn't show up anywhere then.
Alternatively don't store porn on a phone you share with your mum.
