tytn, wm6, sporadic GPRS connection?

Hi all!
After i updated my unbranded HTC TyTN to WM6 i've noticed that the GPRS (G) icon pops up in the top bar from time to time.
This can happen hours after i last used the phone, If i check for running programs nothing is running. The connection is totally sporadic, i can wake up after 9 hours sleep and find the GPRS connection being "on" for like 5-6 hours.
I don't know if it's sending/recieving anything (don't know where to look for that )
Installed applications (yea, i'm a easy user so only 2 apps)
fit4Cat HTweakC 2.0
TomTom navigator.
Is there any kind of logging program so i can see what program that activates the GPRS connection?

when I start my Tomtom6 Navigator my GPRS/3G network go on and I discovery the activation came from the tomtom trafic configuration, I turn of my tomtom trafic and the GPRS/3G network never goes up again.

That the task manager isn't showing active apps doesn't mean there aren't any running. Like in desktop windows: its task manager has two different tabs (one with apps, another with active processes). Meaning: The ppc-taskman is only showing apps with a windows
You should look for some traffic monitor. Maybe a today plugin is transferring something?

Deactivate GPRS on WM6

Hi, I will use Wlan to go online and not gprs, is there a tool to deactivate gprs permanently on Windows Mobile 6 ?

well i don't know about permanent deactivation,
if i didn't want to use GPRS ever,
I'd probably just delete my access point name from the settings or something...

Data connection enable/disable

Hi, I have WM6Pro with bepe rom. In the comm manager I can disconnect from a data connection but can't enable one with out opening another program first ie Opera or Slingbox.
Is there a cab to enable this in the comm manager settings or using the data icon on the top of the screen, which i'm sure i was able to do on a previous PPC.

Activesync via WLAN with Vista - possible?

Hi everybody,
I am running latest Schaps release on my Hermes.
Is it possible to sync the device, via WLAN with Vista?
If yes, how would I go about? Didn't find any threads, regarding this topic..
Maybe somebody could give me a hint, on how to go about?
BTW, has anyone of you used salling clicker via WLAN as well?

Bluetooth, of course. You should download Windows Mobile Device Center (a new name for ActiveSync) and enable Bluetooth connections in its menu.

Thanks, I have tried that but it hangs when i hit the sync button on my laptop.. Anything on Wlan syncing?

Yeah, on WLAN syncing: there is no WLAN syncing.
And what happens when you hit the Sync button in ActiveSync on device?

w800 and gps

Hi I have a windows mobile w800 with tomtom. it has a built in gps but when I run tom tom it just keeps saying no valid sattelite data. anyone any idea what could be wrong. can I remove the application from the mobile and re-install it. or how do I check the settings?

You have to download satellit data update under "GPS" in your phone. I do that via GPRS.

cheers, I,ll try that once I can get the w800 to connect to my pc, cant even connect with 02 with it even though that the simcard I use. I can phone but can,t seem to connect with anything else

I connect online the w800 to the connected pc with activesinc by usb, then I select "update gps" and ago all alone.
sorry for my bad english,i use an online translator

vista uses windoows mobile device centre instead of activesync but my pc does not detect the w800.

I have updated gps but still not finding valid satalite data.
any idea what settings I should be using?

Is this Tomtom? If so you will have to go to Menu, Settings, Show GPS Status, Configure, then Internal GPS Reciever.
If not, select Other GPS reciever and set it to COM4.
