[REQ]Looking for developers, Spotify for mobile! - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello. I'm sure the majority of this site know what Spotify is. And I've discovered some great stuff, that maybe could be ported to a WinMo device.
I'm really, really bad at coding, so I don't know if this is possible, but hey, why not, it's worth a try, right?
So, to the subject. Some Swedish hackers have hacked spotify and made a program to connect to their servers and stream music. It's all opensource, altough no GUI is available.
So my request is, port this program to a WinMo device, and make a nice graphical interface!
Here is the link to the program.

Yeah. I've converted it to WinMo (C#). I will build a nice GUI and then release it as open source. Stay tuned.

Anyone who can get this site to work on our WM6 Hermes?

Hi all,
First off, check out this site I was turned on to
(Go to it on a PC though to see how it works...)
www.tv-links.co.uk
It's a TON of tv shows/movies that you can stream for free.
Click on a show... any show, and see how it opens a new IE window and streams. This is where I'm a little hazy on what's happening. I'm not sure what's going on "Html-code-wise" to know why it won't work on my Tytn.
I've tried PIE and Opera, and set them both to be recognized as a desktop, but nothing will stream the content. It does open a new window, but then nothing happens. I'm doing this over HSDPA so I don't think speed is the issue at all.
This would be a great site to be able to get to our Tytn's. Can anyone figure out how to do it, or at least tell me what is happening that is not yet supported by mobile browsers?
the flash player in WM6 is not the full fledged desktop application to my knowledge. this website utilizes some Flash 9 components that just aren't in the mobile version. (again, to my knowledge).

And this is truly a shame. I had tried months ago to view ComedyCentral's Jon Stewart clips, to no avail...for the same reason.
I wonder how long it's going to take for Adobe to give us something for WM devices that works with the new security features they've built into the newer desktop versions.

Hmmm ... Flash Player Mobile, eh? I DL'd the trial, and I'll check it out with Jon Stewart tomorrow.
Thank you VERY MUCH! I hope this works, Diem! If it does, I owe you a beer or two.

[UPDATE] OK, I installed the Flash Player Mobile app this morning, and have tried to view the ComedyCentral videos. FWIW, I still cannot view them. The site still comes up only with links to upgrade my Flash Player wherever a link to a video should be. There does not seem to be any way to DL the flash files to play them locally.
Maybe I'll browse through that second URL left by Diem, and see if I can find anything there that works.
FWIW, I left a Q with Comedy Central, explaining the issue and asking if they would/could do anything to support us users with WM devices ... maybe provide an alternative media format that will work with our devices. I'll post back to this thread if/when I hear back from them.
Also FWIW, I did NOT try to view the URL provided by the OP ... so maybe he's finding success with this app.
Sorry Diem ... no beers for you yet [/UPDATE]
so I am to understand that the flash player that comes with WM6 now is the Macromedia (Adobe) Flash ActiveX 7.0 for Pocket PC, and this mobile version does not rely on ActiveX?
Dont ask me nothing I'm just waiting for a sweet cold Heiniken

Ahhhh, but THAT deal was only good if I got to view Jon on my Hermes. As it didn't work, you'll have to be happy with H2O
So if you want a glass, come on over, I've got a whole tapful
Seriously, I wish Adobe would catch us up with their desktop offerings, or some of these video sites would post in a format we could use.
Oh well ... it is what it is. I've already got plenty of other stuff that works fine, and keeps me using my device for more hours in the day than is good for me.
-pvs
I don't think the videos shown on the tv links site that I posted have anything to do with Flash. Dapzmob was probably the closest by calling Divx. Hope you guys figure out your Jon Stewart stuff nonetheless.
In anyone knows of a player that can play Divx AND integrates with PIE through a plugin, please let me know!

Ventrilo for PPC - CEntrilo XDA project [Needs someone to take on this project]

The current CEntrilo version will only work on older versions of Ventrilo. The developer of CEntrilo has released files related to his software so that someone may take up the challenge to update his program. I have verified that the user name and password are still correct.
Let this thread be dedicated to building a working version of CEntrilo for 3.0 vent servers. We could call it "CEntrilo XDA" unless someone else has a better idea.
Published by geggo on Jul 25th, 2007 in Uncategorized with 1 Comment
hi,
since i dont find some spare time to update CEntrilo, i made the SVN public.
http://svn.g3gg0.de/svn/default/trunk/misc/CEntrilo
username: centrilo
password: behave!
simply get the source, look how it works and create a new, CLEAN tool from it.
would be really cool if you can keep the core platform independent.
i also somewhen tried to make a symbian client, but could not get beyond
connecting and hearing some noise when people talk
cheers

Who is up for this challenge, and what can we do with the above files?
EDITED : Dead links
Vent on CE would rock!
Could just use my phone for games comms and not tie up my PC. Could even see names and stuff on the phone's screen whilst in-game, how neat is that??
Good luck with this project guys!
I fully support this project. I have been pushing in the Ventrilo forums for this for a long time. I will keep watching this thread for this program.
Dagummit!! lol I've been very active on a gaming sites vent server, thought this was a great idea, just to find myself waiting now.. lol Gotta love it!
Anybody actually working on this?
Does anyone know of any progress on this program? I am really interested in hearing how it is coming!
I don't think anyone is doing this.
But if someone would give me a brief tutorial link or something on how to program for wm6 I'd give it a shot. But no guarantee.
What about making an Xfire application for WM?
Im a gamer and it will really nice to have one app like that. I guess it will be similar protocol like Jabber.
Looks like the author of CEntrilo is taking a shot at getting his Ventrilo client working on the newest version of Ventrilo. He is asking questions, so maybe the able minded developers here want to take a shot at this and help him?
http://www.g3gg0.de/wordpress/archives/25
I could be talking to my gaming friends in Vent while I am stuck here at work on my phone, instead of posting this information here.
I am trying to get it to connect to my server. What is the mfcce400.zip file for?
Now that I look at the link I posted, this looks like a lost cause. G3GG0 is not going to make his program work with the 3.0 servers.
There is interest in getting vent to work on Windows Mobile. Why does nobody want to take up this impressive feat? G3GG0's code is right there!!!!!
Hell, create a version that works with Android, make big bucks on the Android market, at the very least.
I support this. Please someone take up this project.
+1. This NEEDS to be done, it'd be fantastic.
It also needs some Speex support. Please someone have a go at this!
Yes please someone
I agree, this really needs to be updated for 3.0.3.
will donate for this one
I also support this project, we all know it would be amazing to have vent go portable!

This has gone quite a long time unanswered, i dont think its going to change
I would like to update.
There is a open source linux ventrilo client that we can port to WM. If someone can link me to some WM programming, I would do it.
Open source linux client:
http://www.mangler.org
The whole protocol is documented so it should not be that hard.
Cheers
Please someone help this guy!

WMWifiRouter 0.91 No-net

Hey guys, so I just wanted to see if I could help a few people out here because this forum and community has given so much to me and I've probably been just mooching, lol
Anyways, I know there's been plenty of debates on whether you should pay for WMWifiRouter, and I was wondering if i could post up the .cab for the no-net version, since the regular version won't work on our dashes. I had to locate it from a Chinese website and change the extension from ".xxx" to ".cab". If I shouldn't post it up or if i shouldn't be posting this thread then delete this, haha. Version 0.91 is the most current one that is legally free, and if you don't know what WMWifiRouter is, it allows you to share your Windows Mobile phone's data connection to any wifi-enabled device, which is very handy. Thanks!
P.S. If you're going to tell me to just go buy it, well who needs a more up-to-date program when the free one works perfectly?

No, the regular version tries to create a wi-fi profile, so it won't install. Something like that lol. All I know is that WMWifiRouter doesn't install on Dashes, at least versions including and before 0.91. Or maybe I'm wrong? lol what version of WMWifiRouter do you have?

You can't get VmcController working? What OS are you using? There are users reporting issues with 64 bit W7.
You could also try to install Windows Sideshow on your WM (Vista PCs only). Works fine, you can add gadgets like the Windows Media Center control.
My favorite gadgets are the Powerpoint Remote and Computer Health gadget.
See http://gallery.live.com/default.aspx?pl=7 for downloadable gadgets, download the CAB here.
YouTube vid here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=towQP4v5nRU
Edit: This works only when using bluetooth...

Would love to see a thread on TouchRC. This thread has just introduced me to it but the whole thing goes a little over my head.
I'm running the 7 RC and when I load up Media Centre it says it cannot run VMC Controller. Maybe it's best for me to wait until it comes out of beta but I'd love to be able to get this up and running!

I've used this in the past. I don't remember it being Media Centre capable though. It's good for Windows Media Player.
Can't get on with the Windows Sideshow MC controller. It's a shame that MS can't produce something amazing for the Sideshow platform. Being limited to bluetooth is a major flaw. WiFi control is the way forward!

That is my question, too.
It is based on the IE9 engine, I doubt. So is it just a different way of UI Design or are there any other additional features compared to the IE9 on Windows Phone?
If I like what I hear, I am ready to invest some time in beta-testing your app.
So make us happy with something special.

Next Browser is based on the IE9 core, but it is meant to be a different experience from Internet Explorer. It is fast and can support up to 10 tabs, and has features like pin to start, and is gesture-based to make browsing simple and clean. You can easily switch tabs by swiping left or right, which makes it easier than in IE. There are bookmarks and history, as well as switching default search provider and even changing the look of the tile.
Please post or PM me your Live ID if I don't already have it, and you want to beta test.
Thanks!

Awesome, glad you like it.
I'm actually really close to finishing Next Browser. The current beta is pretty much useless as I've done so many changes that I don't really trust feedback anymore, because I've been using the newer version that doesn't have most of the bugs the beta has. I'm considering a beta 2. Post if you want to vote.
i thing the bigest problem with browsers on windows phone is that no browser can be set as default...
btw i like NextBrowser i think its better than IE.
