Known bugs:
Button 5 (Press & hold) not functional: Install SJ Sleuth_PTTFix.cab to fix this. Since Button 5 can't launch the Record feature, I've assigned Record to Button 1 and Messaging to Button 5. Goto Settings - Personal - Buttons to customize Button 5 settings. You might need to power off your device to make the changes stick. (Credit goes to: Sleuth. Thanks to fun_key for posting the modified PTTFix.dll. )

Ok two things right off...
1. Schaps Adv Config doesnt work. HTCustom says theres in error when u save settings, but just SR and it all taked effect.
2. How do i get rid of the lines in the messages screen? Kinda annoying. I think they went away when i changed the theme.

Is there a way to make the button 5 (press and hold) work? I really need it as a soundrecorder for my work. Would it would if i installed third party sofware to record sound and bind it to that key?

I can confirm this doesnt work. Nothing can be mapped to the button (tried both Sleuth255's and vp3G's fix). You CAN however map it to a softkey.

Button 5.
Make sure that you have an icon in the Windows/Start Menu/Programs.
I found that if I copy an icon from the Windows directory to that folder it works. But not with this Rom yet.

did you use bepes patched 3.60 base rom?
Anyway, good taste in design, really slim!
I didn't flash it, as I prefer a german ROM, but I like it much.
Suggestion for second version:
1. Make 4MB PP version to get more Programs RAM,
2. Throw Schaps Adv Config out, as it seems not to work
one could install a functional ACT 1.0 as cab afterwards
(suggesting that ACT is cooked in, though)
3. Throw HTC Task Manager out, as everyone could install
any version as cab also
4. Throw camera pics out (if you haven't done yet)
5. Throw games out (if you haven't done yet)
6. Add Bennec83s nicer 3G icon + Battery icons
So you could save even some more memory and make a
megaclean superstorage big program ram version

If you install Schaps 10 button Com Manager the Adv Config will work (no surprise). Is there a particular to advantage to the 10 button Com Manager that's in the ROM now compared to Schaps?

First off great job! Just out of curiousity, how did you know which files to remove, when you dumped the ROM?

is this strickly a 3.62 base?

As stated at first post, this rom is based on 3.62 + Bepe's bigstorage (used XIP from 3.60), no luck with direct patch.

Thanks for the info! Actually I've already tried keybddr.dll from other rom (like v3.60), it makes button 5 works normaly but somehow it screw beam/bluetooth function.

Which vers of Arcsoft is in the ROM? 4.2 or 3.5...

no! it is fixed

if i knew how to cook a rom myself, and had the time, i would have done a rom EXACTLY like this - removing those "tools", media files and setting kaiser style comm mgr and dialpad as standard.
even the "keyboard mapping while in a call"-bug is fixed in your rom!
that is where most of the roms have their problems with.

i think my looooong search for the perfect rom is over now...
p.s.
just in case you continue your work: please keep in bubblebreaker, as i love that game and i have read it here a couple of times that there is no cab available.

I like the theme a lot as well as the tweaks, but I had to turn smarttoolkit off because while it's awesome it sometimes freezes or doesn't respond. Great job on the theme though, it'd be nice if you could reach the com manager from the main screen and if it had a quick launch.

good idea, i can add another line to the bottom of the theme under missed calls, maybe it will say "ComManager" or something like that, but how do i just add a text link to it?

Using it now. Looks great. The only thing is that the time and date look out of place on the left, at least compared to the great look of the right side of the homescreen.
I've also had issues with smarttoolkit but I'll give this version a try.

Hello Aldech, can i just ask, can this theme be used on the HTC Elf (wm6) sorry if this is a silly question

no, it can not, this is only a smartphone theme, it doesnt work on a touch screen win mobile, unless there is a way to implement it that i dont know of

Having problems with smarttoolkit again, can't read text messages. The list of text messages comes up but it won't open any of them. Also if i select messages on the desktop, battery information comes up.

how can i make it so smarttoolkit starts up when my phone starts up?

wired i dont have problems with mine at all, im using the HTC rom and so far smartoolkit been working great for the past 3 days now

Yea, I used the version you uploaded. Its a really nice program but on my dash for some reason it would freeze and certain things wouldn't work sometimes. I'll try it again now that I'm using the HTC rom and the phone is generally running smoother. I hope you keep working on this theme, it's one of the best I've seen.

FANTASTIC THEME!
I am really enjoying using it....
I do have one request/suggestion....
On the home screen, could you make the highlight of what "section" you are in more apparent?
i.e. The switch between Profile, Messaging, and Missed Calls.
If you can make it more apparent which one the cursor is on would be a HUGE improvement. The highlight doesn't seem to be much of a delta between the one you are on and the one you are not on.... The "Messaging" one doesn't even change when you are "on it"

i can but if i do, when you highlight for example profile or missed calls, if i make them bigger, they will be out of place, i will give it a shot when i get home and let you know, and for the messaging part, the work "messaging" is actually just a picture with the background its not really active.

IMO, you might want to look at removing "messaging" from the wallpaper and make it part of the home screen so it can be highlighted by either changing colors or making it bold. That would also open up changing wallpaper but keeping your layout.

I've installed an earlier series of your icons (from V1.50, I think) on my Polaris (P3650)
Only QVGA, so not as pretty, but they work fine and present much better than the bog-standard ones in most ROM's. They consume very little Storage, of course

Great work! Nice.

The whole set was re-compiled to avoid conflicts but I am glad to hear they also work in the Polaris

Just to check for sure. Is this compatible with the R2AA010 roms?
As these have different shellres.192.dll 's
If so... how did you get reshacker to open the bitmaps inside the dll?

You need PE Explorer to edit shellres
But it is basicaly the same (R1, R2...8 and R2...10) at least regarding icons and dialogs

Somehow it doesn't work that charming
It opens the file and makes it easily editable.
But when sending back to the phone it messes up the icon order and it's not working.
When skimming through the dll there seem to be some icons that do not work ..
any idea how/why this is possible?
have attached the original and my version to see if it makes more sense to somebody else..

1- Did you unsign -> edit -> sign the DLL ??
2- Do you have your registry tweaked to re-route batt & signal icons to phcanOverbmp.DLL ??
3- Is you phcanOverbmp.DLL stock or has modded icons inside ??
(phcanOverbmp.DLL icons will override shellres.192.DLL signal/battery icons and other)
4- Have you installed any program which adds HTCvolumecontrol.DLL ??
(HTCvolumecontrol.DLL is NOT presnent on stock Xperia, but it will override your shellres.192.DLL Speaker icons)
5- Sure your cooked 32x32 @ 32 bits icons into your new DLL ??

Yes the start icon is different, but after many many hours of frustrating trial and error tests I can give you a hint:
Better make it 41x36 or it won't look OK
As an example, here I let you my own START logo for the upcoming "X" series "standard" version (non-SE) - It MUST be 41x36 to display properly

Since I installed your icon set, the bluetooth icon of the wireless today plugin doesn't display (I have a white square instead).

Update: 25/04/2010 Sorry everyone due to my current heavy workload, I just don't have the time to focus on this, so with that in mind I'm putting development on HOLD until I have ample free time to resume again!
In the mean time if anyone else want's to continue development with this please feel free to do so!:
Update 15/02/10: Ok guys after putting up the screenshot of the V6 Final with the new battery icon, I can see some of you don't like it therefore I have decided to attach V6 TEST 5 so that you can actually see how the icons really look on the device because IMHO the screenshot doesn't do justice to the new battery icons!
If after V6 TEST 5 the general consensus is that the new battery icon is a NO, then for the Final release I will revert to the V5 Battery Icon and the numerical battery icon!
Also this time when you install the V6 Test 5 cab the START text will be displayed, if you don't wont that then install attached NO START Text patch!

Although V6 is for HD2 users, I think it should be compatible for any WVGA Devices using WWE ROM's so it should work on Touch HD, TP2 and Diamond 2.

*due to the limitation of the wm6.5 handling any icons that reside in the shellres.192.dll you cannot put any fancy folder icon’s example with drop shadows and angles as they look very blocky and poor so I have stuck with the default wm6.5 folders icons although still not that great they look ok! I did experiment with other folder icons which also looked good but decided against it because some of you guys might not like it!!
**I’m not 100% sure that all the CDMA icons have been done as I’m in the UK so those that use CDMA please confirm if it’s working for you if not post screenshot of icon issue and I will try to fix it!

P.S. For those who have the battery percentage not in sync with your notification manager i.e. there is a discrepency of 1% then do the following:
go to registry HKLM\Security\ResOver\Bitmaps and change the DWORD value of "BatteryIconsLevels" from 101 to 102 and soft reset, battery level will now be in sync with system battery monitor orinstall the attached cab fix!

Known issue with some ROM’s when installing this taskbar:
The start logo, signal and other icons do not change this is because this taskbar works well with WWE ROM’s that call on the taskbar file shellres.192.dll in windows folder for these icons, if you are using a ROM that calls on shellres.192.dll.0409.mui if it’s English ordepending on the language you have on your ROM that 0409 number could be different example 0410 etc...then not all the icon’s will change!!!
This can be fixed after installing this taskbar go to windows folder of your device and you should see these 2 files shellres.192.dll and shellres.192.dll.0409.mui first rename shellres.192.dll.0409.mui toshellres.192.dll.0409.mui_z andthenrename the shellres.192.dll to shellres.192.dll.0409.mui in the windows folder of your device using either Total Commander or Resco File explorer soft reset that should do the trick! If this sounds complicated then post here with the name of that file in the windows folder of your device example shellres.192.dll.0409.mui or whatever it is then I can post a cab fix here!

As I use WM 6.5 Rom on my HD so sorry this version of Brians Taskbar is only for WM 6.5 ROM so will not work Dutty's WM 6.1 v3.3, the taskbar .dlls files on WM 6.5 are different from WM 6.1!!
I'll see if I still have the old Brians WM 6.1 Taskbar Icons on my laptop no promises but I'll try to fix the icons and will post it here!

Ok piccolopunto I managed to find the old Brians WM 6.1 Taskbar files and have edited the Start, OK and X buttons! not 100% sure if it will work so can you please test and report back! many thanks!

Hi there... I just installed the taskbar icon and i love it! However is it possible to change the color from green to blue? Like in the signal bar, bluetooth icon and wifi... And I hope there will be an icon when you beam a file. Thanks!

Thanks for testing it! just want to clarify does it install ok and you get graphic icon errors? or it just does not install at all?
Sorry piccolopunto if I was using a WM 6.1 rom I know I could get to the root of the problem and fix it!!
I would recommend you to try a WM 6.5 rom trust me it's now a lot stable then a few months ago it's comea long since then! I'm using miri's v14 wm 6.5 with no problems at all and this is someone who would religously would use only Dutty's ROM's on a daily base not to long ago!!

You did flash a stock ROM first right? I had hard resets until I did that so it must be done.

ya I actually always had another kitchen setup for the newer style so I only needed to make a few adjustments. Plus I had some time off work

1.) You just need to change the StartMenu_Global_320x240.cpr and StartMenu_Global_240x320.cpr files. Theres plenty of cabs for it in this forum somewhere. Should be easy to search for.
2.) eNatives ShowcaseSuite 1.1.0 is included and I have it defaulted to close apps on X. You can find it under tools..I haven't had any issues with it yet.

what I dislike:
1) commanager selection not refreshing (when scrolling remains blue)
2) hard buttons assignments
3) where is the voice command/recorder?
4) dialer background not following the theme
also I don't like showcase and the setting for vibrating on close. my battery already drain fast that simply there is no reason to add one more!

well, links for hard-buttons are in a specific folder and there is the buttons application to easily change them, so this is not major issue. usually I prefer to have these as the original hermes settings and allow people customizing them only if they like...
anyway, this is a great ROM, pretty close to an official quality.

Nice job! This is really close to be one of the best! But I do have a problem.
The hardware keyboard is not working as it should be. First the keys were all mixed up. I did get rid of it with "Advanced Config" (Keyboard from A&T/Cingular to English). But the Cap/Shift key is not working at all! It was fine before this! In Finland we use Ä Ö Å that I can usually find by typing A and push the blue circle and space bar.. It isn't working either!
This must be my twentieth ROM in Hermes. This is the first time I counter a problem like this. I could try to install a pack like this if I would find one in English.

i cooked a file, that change the following into german language:
Keyboard layout
Suggested words dictionary
Spellcheck dictionary
Symbols List
I testet it with any english rom and it works perfect for me.
And NO: Windows will still be in english.
