How to access the HTC Music player from the Windows side? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Thanks everybody

I assume you mean to sync music?
Do you know how to use Windows Media Player? From this, you can synchronise playlists with devices, such as your handset.

No. I do not mean Window Media Player. I mean the HTC Music Player which it seem, appears only when TouchFlo is enabled.

OK so you mean to access that from within Windows Mobile, and not Windows on your desktop?
It would be more helpful if you could give us a little more detail in your questions.

i think he would open htc player without tf3d, for exemple using pontui 2.
is it possible?

yea i would love to know that too. I love the HTC music player, but found no way to open it while using pointui. =(

From comments I have seen on this website I don't think it seems possible - unfortunately I think (only think, I don't know for sure) it is tied into tf3d, which is a shame as it works well for me i.e. doesn't skip/jump as much as other players.

iTunes for WM6

Hello People,
Any one know if there is an iTunes for WM yet if so WHERE
Nope. I don't think that will happen, ever.
There are other WM based audio managers, though. And there are a lot of PC based media center servers with a web interface, you can use them remotely from WM.
You might be interested in doubleTwist.
It claims to sync even your purchased songs to a lot of devices.
doubletwist
Interesting... Apple just had another update to itunes. anyone having some problems with doubletwist?
Mediamonkey is a great tool with a lot of features. one of the best: it's free (there's also a gold version which isn't free).
it will also recognize your WM-Based phone and you can easily sync songs.
If you're searching for an "iTunes" look-alike player on WM, search the forum for "Mortplayer" (with iMort skin), "S2P", "Melody" or "Lumen"
Cheers
Lumen is still alpha and doesn't play any music yet.
Hello people!
Are there any news on iTunes for WM-based PPC?
Missing the point...
I believe some of the repliers above are missing the point of the question. The real point behind this question is not whether there is a music organizer/sync app but if there is an app for downloading music straight to your phone just like iTunes does. Obviously since the user uses iTunes on his or her computer an iTunes app would be a great solution but ANY program that you could purchase and download music from would be absolutely great. In my opinion that is the one and only thing that still makes me want an iPhone even with all the love I have for my TP2.
So, if anyone knows of a decent app for purchasing and downloading music for a WM phone(similar to iTunes) that would be a great thing to suggest here.

Windows Media Player filter

Hello, I have been using windows media player for the last couple of weeks because it works well with Voice Command. However all the sound files on my mobile are coming up in the library, even sound effects from games. Is there any way of filtering them out, or set up just one folder for windows media player. The same thing happens with the media panel. Thanks

Yes, that's true. U need to install separatly. Try search option for "Voice speed dial"
I have searched XDA-Devs & Googled, but I still cannot find an answer.
MSVC 1.6 is what you are looking for with voice command.
I have the same issue with WMP. When you update library it pulls every single sound you have on your device. I'm interested in a filter also.
Yea, i would like this too, It seems the only solution is if there was a way for media player to watch just one folder. I'm sorry to say i have no programming or any clue to start with to help you (or myself) with this. Maybe theres a third-party music player that u can find. The only solution i found was to stick all your music on Memory-Card and make sure you dont install anything there.

looking for mp3 player

Hey guys,
Im looking for a good mp3 player, I have Nitrogen but I don't like how it doesnt organise my songs by artist or album or by title. I have all my different albums in different folders and if I wanna hear one song from one album and then another from a different album I have to go back and forth between folders... unless Im missing something with the Nitrogen player.
Also was just wondering if there are similar mp3 players that have something similar to iphones coverflo feature, just think that is a cool feature.
Any suggestions would be awesome.
Thanks
u should google for WinamPAQ
hmm looked at the winamp.but it didnt look finger friendly, is there anything else?
i spent a while looking for a good finger friendly mp3 player for my x1, the clear winner for me was "pocket player" by conduits.
thanks widebhoy, i did some more research and came across that one too, im gonna try it out.
thanks again
Yeah, Pocket Player is definitely the best music player for WM. I love it!
htc audio manager.
* finger friendly
* automatically organizes audio library (by album/artist/whatever)
* fast UI, low battery consumption
Hello
Try MortPlayer, supports MP2, MP3, Ogg Vorbis and WAV, ID3- (V1.0-V2.3) and Ogg-Tag-Information, WinAmp- and MediaPlayer-Playlists (M3U, PLS, ASX, read only), A2DP / AVRCP, Configurable Fonts for Playlists... and much much more.
And for Fingerfriendly using you can download one of the many Skins or create your own Skin.
Pocket Player is good but I think MortPlayer offers more capabilities and is more powerful.
Bye

In the Conduits forums there is a thread concerning this problem. An admin claims beeing able to provide an early beta of version 4.2 which should fix the issue. He (or she) says if someone is interested one should contact him (or her) by email. The email adress is mentioned in the thread. Maybe it is worth a try?
does anybody have a free version of this pocketplayer?
in their web it only last for 30 days, and then we have to pay

That is because it's not freeware. But it is definitely worth the monney.
i think naitrogen is best
using mortplayer since i`ve got my x1. i tried all the others, but mortplayer allways finds the way back to my device... for those like me who have thousands of tracks on the card, mortplayer will give you the effectivist playlist
If you're still interested I'd recommend either S2P or iMulator. S2P has more function and design, but iMulator is faster.
You also have Nitrogen v 1.1, although it's a bit outdated.
nitrogen
www.nitrogen.wmskins.com
If you'd ask me I'd vote for mort player =)
i think S2P is best - it integrates well with S2U2, and new pay version is AWESOME, but 0.83 is still quite good and if u want to make it fingerfriendlier- all u have to do is get a different skin ( some got bigger buttons ), only downside its not as smooth as WMplayer but got nicer autoplaylist capabilities - its only one i found that lets me play all my music from Storage Card WITHOUT small game files , ringtones etc, because u can NOMINATE your MUSIC folder- that feature alone worth its weight in gold IMO
i basically have 5 MP3 players on my SEX1 - WMP, Nitrogen, S2P, plus 2 panels - OnTheRoad and MediaXP , and think that for pure feature plus stability value- nothing beats S2U2 + S2P in that combo u get - FullScreen CallerID, LockScreen, NotificationReminders, Messages Previews, AND Very Good INTEGRATED FullScreen Album Pic + Nominated Music Folder MP3/M4A/WAV/+music player plus whole lot of other things i'm prrobably forgetting , so if u r NOT using manilla ( which have most of these inbuild) i personally find thta manilla doesnt run too well on stock xperia, i think S2U2 + S2P is a must , as a matter of fact : its on my reinstall list right after SPB Software every time i hardreset , anyway- these things are different for everyone , because it all depends on what kind of rom and soft u running and what are your requirements, e.g- both mortplaer and pocketmusic bundle kept crashing on my X1, but S2P and Nitrogen - work well
hope this helps, mate

The very best media player

hi,
i'm looking for an awesome media (video) player for my phone.
i'm looking for a good video player that can play a lot of different file formats.
avi, mpg, mpeg, mp4, wmv, etc.etc.
on my laptop i use VLC, and i really love it.
but i can't find a mobile version of VLC.
anybody has a clue for an awesome videoplayer for my phone?
The latest version of TCPMP plays a whole slew of formats. If you want a media player with alot of functionality, Kinoma Player (shareware) has many different functions. Not sure all the formats it plays.
There's Core Player, a branch of TCPMP that is a pretty smooth video player as well. Finally, DivX has an app for WinMo as well, so you could give that a try.
tcpmp and core player are the best on my opinion
i've looked up tcpmp on the web, and found a page about it on http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-tcpmp-v0-72rc1.html but it doesn't seem to be the right one.
when i instal the cab, the program says on startup "unexpected program error, send crash.txt to the developers......".
so it doesn't run on my pocket pc.
i tought i found the tcpmp website with http://coreplayer.com/ but it costs me 24 bucks.
the free version is very difficult to find.
any ideas?
i found yet another release on this forum.
that one seems to be working a bit....
but the movie quality sucks big time.
the sound is on and off all the time.
the picture is shocking...
it's looks like the phone has to work really hard to let me see half a second each time.
it's like:
the audio........... is not .......... like it's ............. supposed........... to be..............
(and the video is the same).
am i doing sometyhing wrong?
I had to look really hard also for a 6.1 TCPMP. Then on this site there seem to be quite a few different ones. I got mine at http://www.mobilitysite.com/boards/1059593835-post107.html it says it is version 4.0.3. But it is open source so people do whatever they want with it. Mine is pretty ugly to look at, but it has always worked (except for the initial crashing - see below). Would like a nicer looking version.
Which one did you download?
This fixed my crashing "If you are having issues with no video or the crashing issue on the HTC HD2 this may help you, You will need to go into the Video settings and change the Direct Draw --> GDI and it should resolve the issue you were having."
i don't remember which one i downloaded... wnloaded about 5 of them from different sites.
i installed all of them (one at a time) to see which one worked best.
the one i've got is worked the best way... but like i said it's shocky... to say the least.
i'll try the one you just send me.
i don't care for looks, i just care for video quality.
i can't believe that a simple viedeoplayer can be so difficult to find on windows mobile.
isn't the whole idea of mobile windows, the idea that you have a mobile version of windows?
and isn't windows also (largely) used for different kinds of media? e.g. video, music etc...
windows media player is the best...

Brenda, I'll still give you a hand getting prepped for the upgrade if you need, I just haven't had much time today to sit down and work on that
TBH I find it alot easier just converting movies and using the HTC player. The Videora TP2 converter does its job perfectly and I like having the movies in the HTC album. Easy access, smooth playback.

the video player is only pops up when you play a video file on the touch pro2...there isn't an icon, tab, or anything like that...
i can vouch that videora is an outstanding programing for converting video for use on the touch pro2...i have the metal gear solid 1,2 & 3 cut scenes on my device...!!!

looks pretty good... but the thing i'm looking for i versatility (i probably wrote it wrong...).
it has to be able to play avi, mpg, mpeg, wmv, mp4 and a lot more if possible.
is this player able to do that?
looks are not important, performance is!
till thus far, tcpmp isn't good enough (it.... plays..... movies...... like..... this...... ).

How do you play a video file so the HTC play can pop up? Do you click the video file from explorer, RESCO or Total Commander type software? I do not understand.

What movies are you trying to play , I dont think you ripped them right or if you got it from some websites , sometimes the copy isnt good. Dont just blame the media player.

You can access them from the HTC album tab just like your photos. That, or tap them from explorer.
EDIT: Granted they are in the MPEG-4 format you get from, for example, the Videora converter I linked.

i'm not to sure how good the quality of the file is.
all i know is, it's a 700 mb avi file that plays beautifully on my old laptop with VLC running on win xp.
now i'm trying to play that same file on the video player you linked, but the quality is awefull.
the audio stops and starts playing every few seconds, and the video just 1 frame a second (and every now and then, it skips a few frames to catch up with the audio).
i personally just think that nobody bothered to make a descent video player for win mobile. OR (and please forgive me for saying this), the phone simply sucks totally (mostly because it has win mobile on it....).

[Q] Song Order Mixed Up in TouchFlo Media Player

I have a original Rom on my AT&T Tilt2, with 8GB microSD Card. I noticed that when I bring up the media player from TouchFlo and try playing an Album that the Songs are all out of order compared to the Original CD.
I have all my Songs Organized in Separate Folders for each CD and listed under the Correct Artist on my SD card...plus they appear in the correct order when opening the Windows Media Player...but the TouchFlo player seams to mix them all up.
Anyone else experience this, know what's going on, or have a fix for this?
Thank you
Yup, I've noticed this too. Doesn't do it on every album, seems kind of random. Overall, the HTC music player is pretty lame, IMO. I suggest you try S2P.

Yeah...it was random...annoying though...I'll have to look into the other player.
The HTC player is also pretty slow if you have a lot of music on your phone. Another annoyance, the HTC player will lump in all your podcasts and other audio with your albums.
No way to fix the song order though?
Not that I know of. I tried a million different things, both on the phone and with the media player library on my PC, and I never hit upon what causes it.
I finally gave up in frustration. Now that I have about 10-12GB of music on my phone, the HTC player is so slow that it's not much fun to use anyway.
