I saw a review of ETEN M600 in a (italian) magazine: there was a photo showing the wm5-integrated voice command...the problem is: why does my qtek 9000 only have voice speed dial (to call contacts or launch apps) and the lower-class m600 has a full featured program, that can also - as clearly shown in the photo that struck me - read sms (!!), call telephone numbers even if not stored in the contacts database, and many many more interesting actions??
is there a way to extract it and use it on Universal?? I'd really like to have sms read to me (useful while driving), and the radio/bt/wifi turned on and off without having to open it, turn it on and click click click... it takes no more than 10 seconds but sometimes it's annoying!!
any hints about that?? any suggestion??
Isn't this just Voice Command? Why not just install Voice Command to allow you to execute commands like radio on/off etc?
V
MS voice command 1.5 you mean?? but as far as I remember (It's been a long time since I last used it on my old PDA) it can't read sms or so....
It can if you know how
However, out of the box I don't know if it can.
V
I don't understand...you mean that there's a way to have it reading out loud all my text messages?? oh man that would be great!! are you talking seriously or is it just a technical fantasy?? tell me I'm so curious!!!

Hmm! ;-)
Vijay555, do you mean there's a way to discover some more hidden capabilities in Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 UK?
I really would love to have some more functions in this. Don't see any upgrades coming at moment.
I don't know about hidden capabilities in Voice Command itself.
But there are other ways to make the Phone speak and there are a couple of competing speech engines out there.
I'm currently working on a speech program, VJLoquitur, using Flite and some other stuff.
Anyone going to the Modaco meeting this Saturday? I'll be showing it off there, hopefully.

Hi,
I have the BT HTC S620 on RickyWatts 6.1 ROM
I used to be able to use ms voice command which seemed to be built in..
but then it stopped working and now when i hold down home (voice command key) it beeps at me before saying "there is no trained voice tag"
anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?
Sorry if this has already been posted...search doesnt seem to be working...
Thanks,
Matt
when you installed 6.1 you didnt pick Microsoft VC. You picked cyberon Voice Command.
"Difference between these two kinds of voice command is that Cyberon voice uses voice-tags that you record, whereas ms voice command doesn't need you to record voice tags(but spoken language only support English"
look for VCSwitch.ccs in your phones \windows folder. Run it with Resco Explorer. That will enable Microsoft Voice Command.
....stupid thing wont work...
i got this screen when i first booted my device in this ROM
It doesnt let me scroll down to select MS Voice Command

Voice Announcements
I have a question about Voice command and annoumcements. Before I updated to to rickywatts 6.1 I use to get announcements for everything. New text message and whom it was from would be read to me, email headers and whom they were from. Even incoming calls would be announced. Well with the new 6.1, I only get the first one announced after a reboot and nothing after that. I have to reboot again if I want to hear another one. Any ideas on why this is happening. Not just with rickywatts version. I first had kavanas and the same thing would happen. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

did you check your setting on voice command?, what is your announcement routing? are announcements set to always or to free time only? etc.
My Voice Command settings
Yes....I think the setting are set correctly...forgot to mention those..sorry.
Voice enabled - yes
Voice button - record
Availability - Always available
Announcment Routing - bluetooth only
Announcements - Always
Call confirmations - yes
Announce Calls - yes
Announce Messaging - yes
Calendar Reminders - yes
Media Selections - yes
I believe that's all of them unless I'm missing something.

If you have announcement routing set to bluetooth only, you wont hear them unless you're wearing a bluetooth headset , and you'll hear it thru your head set. You should try bluetooth if available instead for the routing and see if that works.
I have tried the other routing choices just to see if it would make a difference, but it did not. I always have my bluetooth on at work. My hands are usually in the middle of a project when someone would call or my emails and text's arrive....so with the bluetooth on, I was able to hear who was calling or what the text or email was about without having to stop what I was doing and remove my phone from it's pouch to take a look. That was with T-Mobile's WM6.0. I don't want to return to that....I love 6.1 enough to learn to live without voice announce, but if someone knows what is conflicting with it...all the better. It might be that the whole bluetooth software(or whatever it may be called) isn't right at all. When a phone call comes in, I should only hear it ringing in my bluetooth....right? Well, sometimes, not all the time, I hear it coming from the phone too. Same with text and email alerts. When I have the bluetooth on, the alerts should only be heard through the bluetooth, but same problem. I don't know.....what's next? Anyone....?
Works without BT
Well...I tried the voice announce without the bluetooth and it works just fine everytime without fail....something new must be wrong with my bluetooth headset because this was not happening in WM6.0....don't know what to next.
thanks,

Yes, I can confirm build 19209 does NOT announce incoming calls. Has anyone tried a diff build that works?
Hi, did you check the relevant boxes (i.e. "phone" in the voice command settings to voice enable them?
On another note, does version 1.621725 support voice dialing and voice activation of apps? Somehow I'm not able to map a button to activate voice command's listening function. Any ideas?

yes and yes.
settings->buttons Button 1 (Hold) -> Voice Command.
has anyone ever tried 1.6.21728 or 1.6.21812?
With my TyTn2, I remember certain ROMs would not work with certain builds of VC. So maybe we can list here the TP2 ROMs and VC builds that we've tried and failed so others can pick up until finally someone gets a combination that's 100% working.
I'll start:
ROM: 1.19.707.2 (51489) WWE, VC 1.6.19209 = no incoming call announcement
I'll continue
ROM 1.19.401.0
MSVC 1.6.19209
I installed a newer version of Voice Command (1.6.21725) and did this little reg change:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3735744&postcount=14
I think it should work with 1.6.19209
Now I have incoming call anouncement (quite loud). BUT the ringer is very soft and the announcement stops after 3 times WITH the ringer very soft. So, you may miss a call.
Anyone knows how to shut off the incoming call announce DURING a call? It is very annoying if you have call waiting and talking to someone and someone else calls you. VC would announce the caller and you can't hear the person you're talking with.
Ok. Here is one for you all. I have gone in and checked everything that applies under msvc properly. My incoming calls are announced, as well as e-mails. It will not, however, announce sms!? Anyone else have this problem? I am running Valkyrie Firestorm 4.8.23506 ROM...also msvc 1.6.19214
Any help would be appreciated.
This is all due to the new Broadcom BT drivers in recent WM6.5 builds. They are much better drivers than the old ones. There is nothing you can do to fix this. MS will need to update VC for a resolution, but since they are planning on replacing it I wouldn't hold my breath.
This is really bugging me, I am used to having VC announce calls on my Diamond. Check out post 82 at this thread:
forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41645&page=9[/url]
It seems as though the original Pro was having the same problem in the beginning. The fix kind of worked for me. This is the last thing I need to make my phone perfect
Hi,
So I compiled all the MS voice command fixes into a thread.
And out came the MS Voice command config app. The mortscript app will back up your current settings and allow you to update them.
If you want to test any of the features posted there that are not in the release version, let me know and i will send you an update to test.
The MS Voice Command Config app.
Hello,
Probably a lot of person is trying to have microsoft voice command working with cooked ROM.
I am using eneryROM and I can t make it work.
I was wondering if theire is other application that do the same as VC ?
The primary feature I am using is
Announce who is calling on my bluetooth headset
email and sms voice on the bluetooth.
Does someone know a similar application ?( or even better have a way to make VC work with my HTC TOUCH PRO2 )
I'm used to the iOS voice app that has an embedded dialer. Is there an analog in Android? Even though I have GV set to ask whether to use GV or my cell number to dial, it seems the only way to dial is to choose a contact from GV app. Using the native dialer always dials from my cell #.
Is there a hidden feature or alternate app for dialing?
You don't need Google voice that's a completely different service. Use google now its much better and it will search anything from any screen by saying "OK google" once you set it up. I'll attach some screen shots for you.

Thanks, but that's actually not the issue - I'm trying to use Google Voice to that it sends my office phone number as callerID when I call clients from the road. Unfortunately, Google's brilliant (not!) use of "Voice" for the name of a service makes searching impossible to find help on the app. (Google Voice Dialing, as in Dialing with the Google Voice cloud app)
I'm actually using google voice for a second phone line I use with clients. It rings on my desktop and forwards to my cell. I would like to be able to dial out from my G3 using Google Voice so that the callerID that gets sent is my office number, not my cell number. As I said, if I select a contact from the GoogleVoice app, it asks whether to dial with the GVoice app (which goes through a telephone gateway with the Office CallerID), or to dial with the native phone app, which would send my cell phone CallerID.

Groove ip should enable your google voice number to be the native caller id.

Thanks - I'll give it a try; that's a VoIP solution though, right? I was hoping for an ability to direct dial (from the gv app). I'm still discovering some of the weird things that work better under iOS than android, and am kind of surprised when it's the native Google stuff that is "behind".
Yehp, it's done wonders as my office phone, you could at the least have it request permission when dialing to which number you'd like to use, just a click away, about the same or less amount of clicks you'd use compared to going into gv, selecting a contact, and dialing. With groov normal contacts, select or dial, await popup for which dialer you wish to use, and bam!
If you go into the Google Voice app on your G3 and then go into the Settings for the Google Voice app, you should see an option entitled "Making calls". In that section you have 4 choices to select from for how you want Google Voice to behave when you make a call from your phone using the native phone app:
1) Use Google Voice to make all calls
2) Do not use Google Voice to make any calls
3) Only use Google Voice for international calls
4) Ask every time I make a call
It sounds like you'd prolly want to go with option 4. That way when you go into the Phone app on your G3 and dial a number to place an outgoing call, Google Voice will pop up and ask you if you want the outgoing call to be placed with either your Google Voice number or your "real" phone number that you got from your carrier. This way you have the choice presented to you for every outgoing call you make from your G3.
I've used Google Voice for years now and this is how it's always worked. I use option 1 for my own needs on my cell phone because I just give everyone my Google Voice number and never give out my "real" cell number except to a few choice friends and relatives, so I always want my outgoing calls to show my Google Voice number to the person I'm calling.
Hope that helps you out.
That works too ^^^^^^^^
The thing is I started using groove when google voice would not allow me to make any calls using the app its self ....
*edit*
I forgot before I said that, yes you can make calls with gvoice, but your caller id will be some other number.
GrooVe IP will allow you to make a call whether on wifi or data (note the full ver is the one that allows the data call) Google's a thing..... and it will also show your gvoice number as the number you are calling from, as well as you can recieve calls to your device instead of just acquiring a voicemail to call back from....
[SOLVED]
Okay, so something that was installed, or uninstalled, as I was fiddling with the phone caused GVoice to lose its hook into the calling processes. Uninstalling GVoice and then reinstalling (from the Play store) re-attached it and now it seems to be working correctly. Thanks for everyone's suggestions!

Just a clarification for future searchers - yes, this is supposed to be how it works but somehow my phone stopped doing this. No matter what the setting was, dialing from the phone app dialed with the cell number, and choosing a received message or missed/placed call from the Voice app would dial using the Google Voice interchange. It was weird and, apparently, very unusual behavior.
