htc hermes - freezing and doing hard reset after rom flash - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

hey,
i flashed a couple of roms from this site. before i flashed the newes hard spl according to the guide from the wiki. also i checked it hard spl installed succesfully, according to bootloader it did.
i am having problems with every rom here: the phone freezes all the time without any reason. nothing works, so i sot reset. then the phone starts new but does a hard reset on its own.

install a stock rom, install hard spl if needed and you should be good to go, the wiki section for the hermes has a list of stock roms.

but i would like to use a manilla rom...

after you install a stock rom and hard spl it... you can install a manila rom..

1) HardSPL your phone
2) Flash a OEM rom, use the AT&T stripped from my my 4hsared
3) Flash the cooked rom you want
If you want to flash a new cooked rom
1) Flash the OEM rom
2)Flash the cooked rom.
This stops random hard resets

where i can get the stock rom?
mind to give me the link to dl....
flash the oem rom mean the original rom is it?

yes the oem rom is the original rom
use this rom from veyka

Device Information Screen

After having WM5 for so long i deceided to take the plunge and flash my Vario 2 with the T-mobile WM6 on their downloads site.
The flash went fine and the Rom works quite good BUT i noticed that on the Device Information Screen it doen't tell me anything. ROM Version, ROM Date, Radio Version and Protocol Version nothing there. Hardware tab Gives me a load of squares and numbers. Identity Tab no imei number or model number and the call duration tab has nothing on it.
Can anyone help?

Thats fairly strange behavior. Have you tried a hard reset? Maybe something just didn't transfer correctly. What Rom did you flash exactly?
Try re downloading and flashing again. Maybe the DL was corrupted.
Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried a hard reset yet but i will try it later tonight. The ROM i'm using is from here http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/
As far i could see the flash went o.k. I'll try reflashing as well if the hard reset doesn't work.
Do you have HardSPL v 7 on you phone? If so you should upgrade the OS & radio only as a general rule.
If you have the factory Boot Loader & IPL then flash per the MFG's instructions.
You can extract the OS & Radio from the Factory ROM using the NBH tool you can get on this forum.
Thaks for the replies. I got it working. I just uninstalled everything and then put it back on. I think it was either to do with one of the htc album cabs or htc home cabs that i installed.

Flashing Roms

Hello...I currently have wm6.1. I somehow have hosed up some stuff (it doesn't even connect to the internet - vzw said I probably need to do a hard reset).
My question is can I just re-flash the official vzw 6.1 rom over top of itself? Or must I do a hard reset and then flash 6.1 back?

If you have 6.1 on your phone all a hard reset will do is reload the OS thats on your phone right now
red button+green button+stylus in reset hole until screen turn gray
follow directions and the 6.1 ROM you currently have will be on the phone as
brand new

How to restore original Boot Loader, Radio and ROM ?

I have two P3600i,
one is running factory settings (boot loader, radio and rom)
another one is running upgraded settings (boot loader, radio and rom)
however, the upgraded one is not stable
sometime it hang during loading of Windows
when the problem exist, it hang forever even I soft-reset
and the only solution is Hard Reset
within 5 days I already hard reset for 4 times
as a result, I would like to restore the upgraded one to original setting
is it possible to do? what are the steps?
just flash with original rom
flashing the original rom will change the os and radio only, not the spl tho. i also have searched the entire trinity forum but no info available for P3600i. any ideas???
as mention before, I have 2 P3600i.
I try to dump ROM from one to another for restoring factory setting.
Therefore, I following below steps.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_HowtoReconstruct
I success dump ROM from non-modified P3600i
(I got those raw files, including ext_fla one)
but fail to convert the dumped ROM to flashable
()
is there anyone know a way to direct clone everything from one P3600i to another P3600i ?

[Q] My DHD won't do a hard reset!

I have a Desire HD and to try fixing my poor gps I installed an older ROM (1.32), to see if that makes any difference. I didn't...
Now I want to send my phone to HTC for repair, but I want to do a factory reset first.
The problem is that it won't reset. I can select the reset, click through the warnings and the phone resets, but it simply restarts.
When I try to reset in the bootloader, the same happens.
Can anyone give me some tips?
In order to install an older ROM, I had to root my phone. Unfortunately, I can't remember the precise steps I followed to root it.
I tried some methods (psneuter/Visionary/ClockworkMod), but I can't tell which eventually did the trick.
Please help!
So you already tried flashing a stock RUU? 1.32 or 1.72 This should be the easiest way to reset your phone including unrooting etc. You can find these here Stock + RUU
Another way if you still have CWM installed and root / s-off / eng-off, you can use fullwipe.zip. easy wipe
But you need a ROM to install from your SD card.
You better go back to a stock ROM before sending in your device, warranty issues!

I just installed the newest stock ROM, and it works like a charm!
Thanks for the tip. Guess I didn't search the forum hard enough
No problem!
You're welcome!

[Q] I think i've briked my defy (just keep restarting)

Hi, yesterday i've installed an clockworkmod for defy from this site, but from the second installation the phone just keep restarting on the motorola logo, i didn't applyed any rom so far, i can use the phone's recovery menu, but it wont install any rom because it fails on sign check, wipe data/cache wont work too, my phone has an official froyo 2.2 from Claro Argentina D:
Thank you.
htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=161717
What are you trying to do? CWM doesn't replace the stock recovery on the defy so you can't use this to install a rom.
You will have to flash an sbf and then follow a guide on how to install the rom you want. Just check beginners guide, where you will find what you look for. The wiki page is also up to date on (almost) every rom.
yeah, but so far i know to flash an sbf, you should do it with an custom recovery thing, that's installed from an working android system, and mine wont boot D:
