Hi Folks
Running Artemis Touch 4.01 WWE.
I can send a SMS 'text' to one number fine, however when I send to more than one number only the first number ever gets the message.
I got some very annoyed texts at New Year's! Plus I cant share some pretty poor jokes with friends
Has anyone come across this before?

I'm an AT&T customer, and for the longest time with my WM5 loaded ROM I was able to create a new text message and instead of typing in a phone number to send to, I could type in an e-mail address and the recipient would recevie and e-mail with my text message contents. The receiving party would see [mobilenumber]@txt.att.net as the return e-mail address. I've noticed that when I've tried a number of different WM6 ROMs that I've loaded onto my 8525 that I no longer have this ability. When attempting to send it just says that the text message cannot be sent.
I know this is not an AT&T related issue considering that it worked previously in WM5, and if I SIM swap to another phone like my old Razr this works as well. Has anyone else experienced this difficulty, and if so is there some kind of work around or hack to fix this? Thanks.
i had that problem with Schaps 4.20 rom. I loved his rom but needed that feature, so I changed to K's rom and it works fine. Also it works with vp3G's roms.(as far as I know)
Workaround... In the "To:" of the text message enter "121"
In the content just enter the recipient email as follows "[email protected](subject)" then what you want to say.
example
To:121
[email protected](hi) Hello, how was your day?
Hi i have a artemis and its being fine untill i went to orange as my service provider and now its sending a copy off all texts to a random number and dialled it a few times the number is not a contact, this is someones actual number who is getting pretty miffed, ive tried a soft re-set and since installed a new ROM the problem is still at large, any one else had similar problems the sent items folder shows contact name and when clicked brings up this guys number and not the contacts.. any help would be appreciated.
Hey all!
I have a weird problem with my T-mobile MDA mail (Kavana 6.1 ROM).
Its quite a nice story around that problem actually..
I'm living in the UK in the moment and using a Orange UK Top-up card with my phone and had no problems with it till now.
Some update i noted in the WM6.1 was the "Message not sent. Try again?" Error message that pops up when you have no connection etc.
I was at a club yesterday and met somebody from which i got a number. When we exchanged the numbers, i could hear the mobile ringing so the number is defo legit.
When i put in the number i advised a name with it, lets just call it "alex". It happened that i have two alex-contacts in my phone.
One "Alex" (capital A with a german number) and another "alex" (with the respective UK number). I dunno if that makes any difference...
This morning, when I tried sending a message to that respective "alex" the error message "Message not sent. Try again?" pops up all the time and I have no idea why this is.
I sent tons of messages to other persons today with no problem at all ~ I tried sending it from a Samsung i300 or sth today and appeared to be sent, although Im not sure...
Whatever it may be, the fact that this message pops up in my phone all the time has my uppermost attention.
Can such a message pop up when the inbox of the receiver-phone is full?
What other reasons could this have?
Any clash with my contacts, or just a bad area where u just cant send a message to a respective provider?
HELP!!!
Ok, the answer is easy: i have a faulty number (it doesnt ring)...thread can be closed...damn it.
Hi there
For a while nowI've been experiencing problems with text messages not arriving, but they do end up in my sent items.
There is no real pattern to which messages do and do not arrive at the cellphone I'm sending them too, although I do notice that it ussualy are longer messages (i.e. a couple of lines of text instead of just 1 or 2).
I've tried 5 or 6 different roms in the last couple of weeks but I have the same problem with each of them so it is not the rom.
I've read somewhere that too much reflasig of your device can cause strange problems could this be what I'm experiencing? any help would be very much appreciated!
ive noticed this too! usually its quite a large text, along 3 sms amounts in one go. the recipent doesnt recieve the text but it is in my sent items. i didnt know whether it was the rom i was using , my operator or even a hardware issue but i know its damn annoying when sending important messages.
im on O2, which provider are you with?
I'm also on O2 and have occaisionally had this problem on my diamond, atom life and wizard. The way to avoid it seems to be....
1. Use Advance Config to turn on both Message Sent and Delivery notifications
2. When sending a message DO NOT close the messaging app until the notifications have been received. (if the message is more than one SMS long you will get multiple notifications)
For some reason, if you close the app too quickly, the message fails.
I'm on Vodafone NL
Thanx for the replies, I'll try your suggestions! hope it works, it's really irritating not knowing if my GF received my sms
Hey guys,
Picked up a desire yesterday and its great, though I'm having some issues with sms. I notice I don't receive any texts until I send a text first, then I'll receive 2 or 3 texts, timestamped in the past, up to an hour ago!
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.
edit: unrooted on o2
i get a similar problem, i know i should have received a text message but it doeant show up for hours.
unrooted on tmobile uk
Most likely when your phone is connected over GPRS the text don't come through till you disconnect, used to happen on my N95.
So if my phone is operating in GPRS mode, until it decides it doesn't need the internet anymore and disconnects, it won't retrieve texts... right. So any workarounds or fixes for this?
Prety much, after I use GPRS I just made a call and during or after the call my text came in.
Been getting this all day, are people really just dealing with this or is it only a few people that have this issue?
I am having another problem... on T-mobile, my phone won't download MMS messages. It will just say Download error, General Network Failure... After it expired (3days) , I was sent a link to the T-mobile website, where I am able to see it for 14 days.
Another problem that I am having, the phone is struggling sending long text messages... 4 or 5 normal lenght messages 500-600 characters... I am using the Text App provided with the phone.
I have a problem that I dont think is an actual problem I think its just how the phone works, and tbh its a bit rubbish.
If you dont have signal when you hit send (im my office at work I only get signal on a little square of the desk) the phone says "message not sent". Sometime when it gets signal it will send the message, but if it doesnt get signal quick enough it seems to just give up sending.... a bit lame really....
I'm going to post a message up with the T-mobile UK MMS settings so people in future can find it on search. Have a look in 5 mins.
JAmes.
I've got the same issue with my HTC Desire.
My operator is a Belgium one, namely Mobistar.
I've got the impression that when i open the sms box, i start seeing the messages. Don't know if it's the communication that goes wrong, or the 'throughput' in the phone (screen, alerting...).
After installing (and using of course) chompSMS, this problem is gone... yipppie...
