I just bought my dash, first smartphone ever, and I seen the Kavana video on youtube and found this site. I flashed the Rom onto my T-Mobile Brand Dash and it looked great and I love using the side slider bar. But when I tried to text the keys were laid out differently and I'm not savvy enough to fix that myself and I tried searching but I'm not to great at finding the answer by being a brand new member and a new owner of this phone. Also I tried to use the internet and it said I have no conncection and I heard people say just put in my current ip settings that I use on my desktop but I pay t-mobile 20 bucks a month for their unlimited internet that I would like to keep the same and I don't know how to get that back as the primary and default browser and I would really really really appreciate any step by step process in how to get a correct version of Kavana 6.1 that works perfectly with my T-mobile dash with the t-mobile internet settings already installed or set. I flashed the phone back to the t-mobile 6.0 rom so I can still use it but if I can get an answer onhere i Would love that so I can use the sleek layout of kavana.
Thank you very much.
I found the keyboard thing, I think
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2074399&postcount=1148
After looking around I found this and I haven't tried it but I'm assuming that will fix all of the keyboard problems but the only thing as of right now that I think I might need help in is the whole internet thing. I'm not good at setting ips or anything dealing with it and I just want the standard settings that it came with when i bought it from t-mobile when it comes to the internet.
Thank you.
start > accesories > connection set up. select us, then tmobile then reboot.
when i go to start then accessories theres nothing about connections in this older. if you mean go to start then settings and then connections there a whole bunch of diferent folders. you have com manager, beam, bluetooth, dial up, gprs, proxy, vpn, wifi, sms, usb to pc. where should i go
download v23 of rickys revised kavana rom
if u download and flash v23 of rickys revised kavana rom with opera, u will find the connection setup under accessories. this is also the folder in which you'll find the internet sharing program.
pretty sure its in all the kavana and ricky roms.

exactly, if you use the connection setup and the link that you found for the keyboard you should be set.
thanks for the replies i will try these when i get off work
i keep getting the 270 error when trying to flash using rickys 23v. I used the sda unlock and that worked fine for the kavana 6.1 but it doesn't help on theopera one

Try using the SDA Unlock again and then just run the auto included with the ROM it should guide everything through for you. Make sure that you get the almost white screen and you should be good to go
i ran the sda and succesfully unlocked it again and then ran the auto thing from ricky and got to the white screen and it gets to 3 percent and then says error 270 corrupted

Very useful thread, thank you. Before I do any of that can I have your and others honest opinion should I flash to the v23 of ricky's version of kavana? I got the kavana 6.1 original on here and I was able to get the internet working and the keyboard working and so far everything looks good. Is it a whole lot better to get the opera ricky version?
Thanks.

Here here!
i really this rom update but one of the things that didnt work for me was my voicemail. everytime i tried callin it.. it wud ring a couple times.. that jus end. sometimes it wudnt even ring. it wud jus say call ended.
PS. i have tmo
does it connect to your voicemail? If not call t-mobile and get the local number and reassign it to your voicemail.
Ok, before I actually post my question, I did search the forum and I cannot find the answer.
Anyway, I'm running WM 6.1 and I for the life of me cannot locate my 5 faves. Anyone know where its located? Or do i have to contact T-mobile and have them resend it? Thanks for the help
You searched the forum for MyFaves and didn't find anything?
Wow, I just searched that and found a bunch of stuff. I don't know what you're searching, but try telling us what ROM you're running and maybe we can help you.
Otherwise search for Ricky's ROM. It has a MyFaves app. YOU DO KNOW THAT YOUR ACTUAL MY5FAVES APP IS NOW,GONE? DON'T YOU?
It is not part of these hacked ROMS. It is only on your T-Mobile Stock ROM.
You'll have to make due with what "MyFaves-like" programs that have been made as mock-ups of the original. Like I said, "seek and yee shall find...."
too add to the reply, the myfaves is not needed- it is just a convenience thing. You can change your faves on the tmobile website, and the Ricky rom has a place to keep your faves if you want it to look like the faves program tmobile uses. But as far as usage, you do not need a faves program just because you have the service- your billing will not change at all
Can anyone point me to these? or a cab to get them? as they are not included with the Beta I have
I'm also looking for these but it seem like most of them are not working correctly with all the newer built of wm 6.5

Does anyone have the extraction from a T Mobile Dash for My Faves? I have a Dash that was flashed with a ROM when I had access to XP. Now that I have no XP access and I now have a MyFave Plan I can't flash to the original ROM, and well would still like to keep my cooked ROM. If anyone can post a .cab for it that would be much appreciated.

Except those links don't provide a working solution, the link they point to doesn't exist anymore.
pm me ill e-mail the cab to you, its too large to upload from my phone right now via opera and my loptop has a nasty virus on it at the moment.

While cruising around looking for some info on running OpenVPN on WM 6.5, I came across this post.
http://forums.untangle.com/off-topic/13421-openvpn-ppc-windows-mobile-2.html
This developer has created a port of OpenVPN that seems to work well on WM 6.5. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it going... I looked at the installer.rar file, but it seems like we need to build the CAB from it.
If anybody can figure this out... it would be greatly appreciated!
bump, I installed it but it doesn't even show up when I click on the icon.
Why are you asking on here? The link is for a forum where the software was uploaded. Why not ask on that forum???
