[Theme-RC30] Red/Black ((1.41 compatible)) - G1 Themes and Wallpapers

I have veered away from the Tool theme, and made this just a straight Red and Black theme. The clock is the only thing left of the Tool aspect.
As always, this could possibly brick your phone, so it's not responsibility if you do, etc.
This has been updated to work with JFv1.41 and includes the multi-touch browser.
RC30 only. If someone wants to port it to RC8 and/or ADP1, go for it.
Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?x21yz49xzmq
Version 2: Updated for JFv1.41, and camera issue fixed.
Pics:
1. Main screen. Shows the clock, and pull tab.
2. Icons and highlighted pull tab.
3. Landscape, Google search, folder icon, and highlighted icon.
4. Music player colors.
5. Trash tab.
6. Curtain transparency and bottom.
7. The wallpaper I am using, in case someone wants it.
8. Another wallpaper that fits very well with this theme.
Questions, comments, bugs? Let me know.

I think the front cover image on the "Opiate" cd would make a pretty cool wallpaper.

cant wait! one of my favorite bands aswell. im still waiting for a metallica theme

looks good

Finally a nice red and black theme i cant wait for it

Love the TOOL idea, one of the greatest bands ever

Now this is a theme I can use.
New clock is okay but the one in the first pic is my favorite.
Keep it up!

Bump for release. 1-25-09 2:06AM Central time
And sorry wergeld, but I liked my new clock better. Much simpler, and easier on the eyes. Especially for someone who isn't a fan of Tool artwork.

Ha, no worries on the clock. I am going to get this!
Another idea to try: using the "Eye" as the menu tab.
Great job all around. 2 of my 2 thumbs up!
wergeld

Is there a method posted for converting a theme from RC30 > ADP1

Please post a screenshot of your theme. ty

Sorry, but as the first post says, I have veered away from Tool, and made this just a Red/Black theme. A Tool theme in my mind, and will be made, just not quite yet.
Also, updated for JFv1.41 as of 1-25-09 11:30PM Central Time

Awww, I was loving the **** out of the application tab you had for the lateralus eye, any change of adding that to a quick modded version? Was my favorite part

I dig the new clock, but I am with tehseano about the menu slider. Even the aenima tv flame would be cool.
Great job and I know a lot of peeps are looking foward to a tool theme.
This is now my theme.

I liked the pull tab as well, but as I said in the main post, I wanted to make a universal Red/Black theme. Also as I said, a completely Tool-centric theme is in the works. And I have a lot of homework to do tonight, but if I get the time, I'll make a quick change and replace the Lateralus pull tab and upload a version for that.

Thank you very much! And I'll still be awaiting that tool theme whenever you do finish it, keep up the great work!

For anyone that has downloaded this theme, please go download it again. I updated the file, because of a camera issue I just caught. This new one fixes it.

wont extract!!
Hey, ive been trying to get this theme, i can download it just fine, but when i try to extract the files it tells me it failed to extract ALL the apps and folders and says the path is invalid...all it ends up coming up with is the apps.file, framework.file, and the META-INF folder. Everything elses gets thrown out. Im running Windows Vista 32-bit and using win-rar to extract...i dont get it! ive downloaded several other themes and they all came out just fine...help!

It's just the way it's packed. If you extract the .apks directly, it works. But may I ask why you are extracting them anyway? If you want to flash it to your phone, you don't need to extract it. If you are going to modify my files, use the above method, but give me some credit if you use it in another theme

[Theme] Android Meets Ubuntu-[update - 1/17/09 - final update

Andriod Meets Ubuntu. Theme for G1, based on Ubuntu Linux.
Thanks to Stericson for all his help. Without him, this would not be possible. We were together able to figure out how to change fonts and resize fonts. Also thanks to him for supplying the empty update.zip file.
Instructions: rename to update.zip and rest same as everyother theme.
http://rapidshare.com/files/184949525/Android_Meets_Ubuntu.zip
my final release will not change your fonts. if you guys want my changed version, you'll have to pm me.
Warning - might brick your phone. has been tested on jf 1.31. recommend to have dev bootloader installed just in case.
will post small updates from time to time.
This is the final version for this theme. Time to move on now
awe man, the distortion icons! I love those, I had downloaded them and thought about using them in a theme, they look good
Hey! How did you edit the font for the clock?
very nice work~
Any chance of an ADP1 version?
That looks really good. Is the notification bar transparent as well?
MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is great! love the boot scrren, the ubuntu symbol when you input the password. this is an amanzing themre! Great job!
REAL NICEEEE thnxxxxxxxxx
Theres something wrong with this theme. Once you install it, its like the font stays on the phone. I uninstalled this theme and installed two other ones to be sure, and the font remained the same! i also had trouble browsing through pictures and the name of some of my applications was "....."............???? =/ in order to fix the phone i had to reinstall RC30 which made me reinstall all my apps..big pain in the butt!
Awww... I was planning on doing a Tango theme for Android so it looked more like the default Ubuntu (or any GNOME distro for that matter) installation... It would look significantly different, so I'll probably make it anyways, but...
looks like he renamed the font he is using to the font the G1 uses droidsans.ttf and droidsans-bold.ttf reinstalling a new theme unless it has custom font will not change it back to change it back you will have to reinstall jf rc30 or push the font back.I could be way off but that is how it looks to me. stericson if you read this can you add the original font to your original theme thx
Kron2 is correct. Thats how i did it, anyway for anyone who wants to go back to default fonts, i'll post an update with default font.
yo yo yo, get us the hook up with an ADP1 version if you don't mind. do you have a donation bucket?
theme is nice, especially the change in the unlock pattern, how did you change it? Would throttlelauncher be a source to these new patterns? If so how do you apply them?
Could we see further support/development for unlock patterns?
There will be an update sometime jan 13 or 14. my school started and dont have enough time to work on the theme anymore. I will still be working on it but not as much as before. Also major update this weekend.
ADP version coming this weekend

[Theme] BUUF 1.5 Cyanogen 3.9.10 (8/14/09)

Hi Guys
For all that are unfamiliar with BUUF, it is a set of icons made for the desktops. Hopefully i recreated this experience to our beloved Android. All icons are courtesy of its creator Mattahan, the battery was supplied by Mr. Stylo and the clock was made by Rontz. Everything else by me 8) I really hope you guys enjoy this as I have put in quite a lot of time. Up to date we have 550+ icons changed in this theme and these pics really dont reflect the extensive amount of makeover it has gone through. I want to thank Stericson for giving the community and myself a great new hobby. Necromancer for his ubuntu theme which inspired me and everyone should go d/l it 8) Last but not least, Dave the illest for originally supplying the update.zip and the tools necessary to create my first release. Latest build is built from the ground up. If you use any of my icons go right ahead as long as you give me credit 8)
7/9 Sorry guys its been almost 5 months since i last updated this thing. Been so busy with work and now that I'm finally happy with a stable build out there, I decided to finally start porting this thing over. This has only been tested on Cynogen's build 3.6.5 You guys can test it on other builds at ur risk. 8) This is not a full change over as I have done previously in JF builds. I will continue to release new revisions as i have time to update the current icon set. This update may also require that you are running apps2sd as the update file is fairly large. I havent tested it on a non apps2sd build yet so someone can let me know. For now it will only be one color. as the theme gets more complete, I'll release new colors. Ok enjoy 8)

I'm working on a theme using the icons from GANT (actually GACK, the OS X version of GANT since it uses PNG icons) if dthadamaja doesn't beat me to it
I'm almost done with all the icons, but I still need to add resources like the tab, status bar, battery icons, wifi, a bootscreen, etc. I'm starting from the default RC30 so it won't have any elements of the Windows 7 theme in it, but it will probably have a lot of the default stuff...
I'll make a new post when I'm done, but it will probably end up looking a lot like this since GANT and BUUF are highly similar (but GANT has a bit more gloss to it)
i like this theme alot !1.. keep up the good work
This theme is great! love the flashing.... uuummm alien?? idk what it is but cool. By the Way.... how did u get a game folder?
Installed the theme with no issues..
Some of the icons are a bit blocky (calendar, browser bookmarks, refresh, etc) though. I hope these get fixed as it moves out of beta.
Great job!

Sweet I had my TyTN II all GANT'ed up so this would make my G1 that much better! Can't wait for a release
hey how did you change the unlock pattern for the theme? where were those files located?
is it just in the framework.res folder? and you either tweak the icons given or replace them with your own personal image?
im tryna grasp the whole concept of the phone, im making a theme as well
wanted to try and edit everything, why not, unlike others i have a lot of free time this term in school, so why not
also you said u used the "windows-step by step" instructions to sign and create your app? i am having troubles with the signing of the apk
I was soooooo waiting for the black and white theme but you have renewed my love for GANT. Manhattan the kid that came up with these icons is amazing. I think he was 13 at the time he created the first GANT theme.
Installing as I type DD
okay...so for me this won't boot past the G1 screen...
oddly, i tried reupdating to deepblack and after the alt+s process this themes icons came up....
well, anywho....nice theme
No clue what BUUF is, but this theme is awesome looking. Downloading/Installing as I type this.

Thanks
hey teknotiq, liking the theme, i touched it up a lil... made the colors a lil more closer & brighter....changed the clock color and made the notches clear/see-through (have different possibilities for the clock... 12,3,6,9 not clear, all clear, or grey back with colored notches)... also tried something different and added "open n close" to the menu tab...and changed the delete tab to match the menu tab..
all props to you... just tweaked it a lil bit ( ** i have other square and circle clocks** )
Download update.zip, rename to update.zip, and reboot, you know the drill

First of all great theme one of my favorites. I had the original on my phone for a while.
As for your problem grandamxlr8 this theme is for RC33. First of all do you have root if not you need to get it. I would start all over and get root and flash JF RC33 update. I know theme says JF 1.41 but i used the 1.42 and it worked for me. After you get RC33 then you can flash this theme and enjoy. Good Luck.

Not quite so easy, make sure you get the right services.jar (from a theme that is currently compatible with the 3.6.5 builds). The services.jar have changed to include the reboot on press.power and pull down the status_bar while having the lock screen.
My theme has a good services.jar, and if you want to change additional text: search for edit + xml. ; )
Nice start. Def gonna keep my eye on this one. I like the tray and some of those icons.
Rly good job, hope to see some final job of this if someone can port SMS Widget and Dialer too ( Music and Keyboard are already ported ) Cyanogen Mod and if this theme will be finished im gonna go back to 1.5 from Sense UI .
I posted the following in the "Helpful Thread - Read before clicking new thread" sticky the other day but apparently, I'm the only one who reads stickies on xda. Maybe someone in here can answer my question and I apologize if I offend anyone by posting this in the wrong thread...
*I got a question about installing themes. What is the proper procedure of installing a new theme after you've already installed a theme? The reason I'm asking is because (first of all I'm running Cyanogen's v3.6.5) I installed the HTC Hero v1.4.5 theme yesterday and everything went well. Then I wanted to see what the PrOdigal Sun theme (Orange Cyanogen_Mod V3.4.x, V3.5.x and V3.6.x version 2.8.) would look like so I just flashed the theme onto my phone (without wiping first-didn't think I had to or was supposed to) and I kept getting force closures after force closures. I then re-flashed the HTC Hero theme back onto my phone and everything seemed fine until I opened the drawer and saw that I had the icons of the PrOdigal Sun theme instead of the HTC Hero icons.
Long story short..I had to re-flash cyan's rom again the re-flash the HTC Hero theme. Didn't wanna try the PrOdigal Sun theme again because I wasnt sure if it was compatible with cyan's rom even tho it says it is. Thanks*
whens the eta for a beta version of this theme
i wanna try this out!

ahome is a homescreen replacement, instead of using the regular homescreen that comes stock with android.
he's making this theme thru "ahome" which allows the icons to be at the bottom where the "menu bar" is removed.

[Theme] [Mod] Blue theme CM6

Hi there, this is my first ever upload to XDA so please be nice, i know this is a very simple mod/theme but its my first one and i am hoping to improve.
This METAMORPH changes the unlock, pickup and pickup+hold buttons on the lock screen slider to blue from the default green, this looks better in my opinion!
heres a screen shot http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/5137965017/
I will also attach the screenshot to this thread.
I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong with your phone while morphing this theme.
I will eventually update this with a blue battery replacement for the default cyanogen one. I am in the middle of exams at the moment to this could be a while.
This requires Metamorph 1.9 or higher as it does not include a .thm file, only .xml
EDIT: Version 2.0 attached to thread.
change log:
New battery images added, adds to the blue look.
Congrats on your first morph! It looks nice and is definitely an improvement over the standard green color. Good job.
Edit: Just noticed you included a SS inside of the morph. Great going. I need to start doing that!
