After installing same cab, I noticed that when i press and hold the end bottom, although it is set to lock the device, it just moves to the home screen.
if i manually choose to lock the device, it also does not work.
if i lock the device with the password it works. does anyone know what the problem is?
thanks
Hi lucianoci,
There is a bug with the HD which means that you can't have password lock and long press end key lock working together. You should find that if you remove the password you will then be able to lock the phone by pressing and holding the end key.
Another "bug" by the lock-feature is, that "power saving" reduce the brightness and after an unlock the brightness didn't increase again.

Hi,
In general I am very happy with my new TP2, however, I keep forgetting to press the lock button (hold down the call end buttoun until it vibrates) prior to pussing the power button and putting it in the case.
Does anyone know of a way of adding this function to the power button, so that it automatically locks?

If you use S2U2 you get this functionality, I don't know how to do it with normal screen lock.
Dave
Or if you use Throttle Lock you can use a pattern to unlock your device, and you can set it up that when you push the powerbutton it gets locked with the pattern, or that when you push the powerbutton it will wait a x given minutes and then your device get's locked with a pattern.

i have this on mine dont know how i got it take it came with some app i have installed
Anyone know how to fix this so that the phone's standard lock autolocks? Tried throttle etc but I still really like the simplicity of the normal phonelock, just need to get it to do it by itself.
Homescreen plusplus (Batterystatus) has this option. You can select lock on standby, it uses normal wm lock app. Used it on my Wizard, not sure if it's compatible with the TP2...

Use TouchLockPro as locking utility. Automatically locks at power on and unlocks by light sensor. And you can configure a key unlock sequence. And with a slide to answer solution, you can only lock the hardware keys at incoming call.
if you simply press the power button that switches off the screen and locks all buttons.
uilt-in WM feature.
If you set a password it also automatically locks it
how do you enable ALL BUTTONS UNLOCK ?
in older devices there was an option somewhere in the keys section, now only the power button turns the phone on,. i want all the keys to turn it on, since i use the s2u2...
thanx

When not removed from ROM you will find it as \Windows\keylock.exe
Otherwise try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5875933&postcount=5
I am still looking for auto lock at suspend. I don't want to install a program bringing with it 100.000 functions.
I dont see the point in adding extra features to a lock screen. its there to keep the screen locked and thats it lol
Anyways, try 'lock device GUI'
It just adds the function to lock the device when the power button is pushed (Sleep).
Keeps the old lock screen, only adds function
Yea check out LockDevice. I use it and it works great..

DeviceLock.cab Works As Well...
I had similar issue. So I installed "DeviceLock.cab" and added it as a Quick Link on HCT Sense 2.5 Homescreen. Now I just have to click on the link to lock the device. Once the screen if off the keys don't matter.
Also used "Lock Screen With Bottom Slider" for easy access.
I can't post links, but if you search for quote phrase, you should be able to find a download.
Hope that helps.
Try smartlock. Works perfect! Just install the cab, then it can be found in: Start/Settings/System

I like my device locked after pressing the Power button.
The screen goes off and I want my device locked.
Where in the prefs do I setup?
By default, every time you press the standby button, it is locked already. When you wake the device, you always have to do the downward swipe to unlock...
So, what's the problem?
If you mean the pattern code then it is a choice when you set the pattern up.....I think default is set to 3 mins.....change it to immediately.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thats exactly what's not working. I push the power knob. And my device just wakes up.
I can't find any settings in the pattern preferences either. THAT'S my problem
Wohoo. Just found it in and undersection of cyanogen prefs.
Is there a way to change the lock button on the right to more of a soft lock.
every time i hit it, i have to enter my pin in again. so it would be nice if the button acted more like the screen timeout.
Any ideas?
You could turn off your lock password?
I can't. The phone has to be connected to our exchange server, which requires a pin at the minimum.
I don't know if you have owned a blackberry, but if you press the lock button it doesn't require your pin to be entered until a set amount of time, but still sleeps the display and doesn't allow input.
There is an app on the market that may do what your looking for - "Password Delay Full". There is also a free version but I don't know what the differences are, I figure it's better to get the paid one to support the devs!
There is a built in lock delay right?

Yes, with this option you can set delay upto 30 min. for the screen to lock out after it has been turned off.

That doesn't work. It says "Lock screen 'X' minute/s after screen automatically turns off."
That means if you leave your phone there with the screen on, it will lock X minutes after the screen turns off by itself. If you press the lock button, only way to unlock is with passcode. My Sensation didn't do this, hopefully there's an easy option on this phone.

Right, I have the same problem and am looking for a solution. HTC Sense has this working properly, but on Samsung the power key does the full screen off + lock rather than just screen off and let the lock delay lock it.
Very annoying. I'm guessing that a Samsung TW update or a new ROM could fix it.
I find it very easy to hit the lock button by accident, particularly when turning the phone horizontally or when passing it to someone to show them something. Is there an existing or a possibility of a tweak where the screen locking would only happen by, say, a double press of the lock button?
New to HTC and dealing with an unrooted phone, coming from a slew of Samsung devices.
It appears the phone will only lock once the timeout has been reached. I'm used to the devices locking with the power button, but it doesn't work this way on the M9 and I don't see the option to change it.

Go into setting > security > lock phone after - change to time you want. I have set to immediately and locks when power button is pressed.
See attachment photo
:good: This mostly does it. It will lock either when you press the power button or when your display times out. I liked how the Samsungs handled it in that you had a choice of screen timeout, lock timeout, and lock with power button. So I could have my screen timeout in 1 minute, lock automatically in 3, or lock immediately if I pressed the power button.
