All,
I posted this on another thread but I got no response so I thought I'd give a shot here...
I'm pretty far along with a program I'm developing for release on this board (DnP - Dock-n-Play) that plays an animated today screen with TF3D style Clock, Weather Icon, tasks and notifications while docked and on power -- the normal state for my phone while I'm at work is to have it craddled (docked) next to my monitor. When undocked the program auto-terminates -- although a daemon continues to run in background to relaunch should you re-dock.
I want to have an option to display the current weather as an icon similar to the good work A_C does with his fantastic S2U2 aaplication... I have sample code for pulling weather from a number of sources so that is not the issue... what I need is how to find (in the registry I'm assuming) of what the currently displayed weather location is in TouchFlow3d.
If anyone knows the key to getting to this information can you please respond. -Thx

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
When I was changing my weatherdatabase I found keys in the registry.
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila; there is a key Weather.Current.City.

Thanks! That was what I was looking for

I just updated my "flagship software" for Phone Edition.
(sorry for the one month of delay time)
Many many improvements, new features and fixes.
Now you can replace the default balloon message of the upcoming phone, use the fullscreen message, see the caller's photos in any size... or turn the Pocket PC completely off into the Silent Profile.
More fixes for the standard PPC2002 and WM2003 Phone Edition versions.
You can customize the view of taskbar with all default icons are still visible correctly. The only solution for Phone Edition.
Plus: skinable interface, icons, images, messages in the full version, just it going to change the name to the Phone Profiles Seriously.
The Lite Version is free update for current users.
Test it. There is a few different O/S now. Be sure it works with your device correctly.
The Trial Version works 7 days without limits.
More screenshots, descriptions on the new Home Page:
http://www.jgui.net/phoneprofiles/index.html
Read there how to customize your images, icons, message.
I open the contest for the best and fun icons for Phone Profiles.
The winners (3) will get the full version. Until the end of February.

Hi all,
I've got the HTC Home Plugin up and running now, and would like to make 1 change if possible...
Can the favorite-contacts tab be changed to use photo's instead of just the names?
to clarify: I'd like the tab to look something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I don't understand your question. HTC Home Plugin's Favorite tab should work the same way as you described. Tapping an empty box should pop up Contacts app from where you can choose whom to display among Favorites.
So, the problem can be
1. You chose persons from Contacts who has no photo attached. In this case the plugin can show the name only.
2. Your installed Home Plugin is buggy - if so, try another one; there are a lot avaible in the forum.
Good luck!
Yes you canĀ“t specify the photo in HTC Home - you have to do this via pocket outlook contacts. than htc home should use the photos instead of the name
You're correct! Very sorry to have posted this, I thought I saved a photo with a certain contact, but apparently that went wrong. I assigned the photo to the contact again, and now it shows the photo!
I have a few backgrounds that I'd like to rotate with the same homescreen. Is there a way (scripting maybe?) to rotate the background? Even if it's once per day or something. tried looking for something that'd do this or a way to do it and so far have come up empty.
I found a program called ThemeChanger that will rotate a background, except I've noticed is that although the default background (as configured in the theme xml file) works flawlessly, if I go through Start>Settings>Background and select another background image that I created (using the same exact detentions) the backgound is positioned directly above the bottom mru plugin. Also, the background to the mru is white, which looks horrible. I've tried setting the bgcolor to black, but that didn't seem to work. Here's an example:
Homepage using "Default" in Start>Settings>Background, displaying the images configured in the xml file:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Homepage using alternate background image as set in Start>Settings>Background. Notice how the highlighted areas no longer match up with the information.. the image is positioned from the bottom, above the mru.
Yes, I have a thing for guys in ties.
Thanks!
bump. anyone?
WM6/Rogers fixed the issue. Yay.
So I was messing in the settings somewhere and enabled a setting that when the screen goes off, it goes back to my homescreen on unlock. Meaning say i'm sending an email and set the phone down and screen goes off...when I turn it back on, it goes to my homescreen and not to the email I was composing...I have looked for 40 mins and cannot find it..
Anyone have an idea where this setting is???
Thanks in advance.
You sure that setting exists in Launcher Pro? I just looked through every screen in LP's preferences and couldn't find a setting to match the behavior you speak of. Maybe it's a ROM specific setting?
Yeah, this definitely isn't a Launcher Pro setting. Can you tell us what ROM you're running? Perhaps a modified lock screen, too?
I specifically remember checking the box but cannot remember where. I am running Fresh 3.3 on NA 4.1.9
Thanks for looking, guys...if its not LP...I wonder if it was beautiful widgets...or reg settings...its so annoying.
Edit: FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!

well thats just the typoclock widget. I would like to see a live wallpaper that functioned as a clock be pretty cool i think
yeah, found it not long after i posted that (the clock that is). i just like the idea of the clock on every page and not eating up widget space.
That would be cool, anyone find it?
You could try and make one yourself with OwnSkin. Look for the app in the market. You can create your own live wallpapers online. Just post it when you're done, of course

OK so I threw together this live wallpaper as a proof of concept. Only took 10 mins and it was my first time using the software. I put a battery percentage on there too, but it got hidden by my dock. So yeah, it's definitely possible.
that looks pretty interesting. i signed up, i'll mess with it later. right now, too tired.
