Which WM6 on Cingural 8525 (new member question)

Hi all..
I am new here, so be gentle...
I just got my hands on Cingural 8525, which I will unlock using unlocker from this forum.
Also, planing to update to WM 6. Have seen many version of WM6 on the forum. Which one would you recommend for 8525. I would not want to brick the phone in first 2 days of use :-(
So, in your experience which is best WM6 rom for 8525, and the WM6 that have successfully installed.

since you took the liberty of reading up on how to unlock your device...read up on all the different versions of WM6...read the wiki...read this

if you want people to go gentle on you then you have a lot of reading and searching to do... this very question and ones very similiar have been asked 10 billion times...

Flashed a new WM6.1! Great, but lacks Microsoft Office.

Hi everyone,
I have just purchased a vodafone version of htc hermes, the v1605. I have unlocked the phone to be used locally here, and I have upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1. I forgot whose ROM I have downloaded, but the new ROM has no microsoft office, which is one of the main reasons why I bought this phone.
I found another ROM, the TNT 1933 that has the latest microsoft office and a bunch load of other useful programs. But the problem is, I have loaded too many programs and softwares, wasted too much time to customize the phone to my liking, so I don't really wanna flash another ROM again and lose all the settings and data.
So, I was hoping that you can help me to where I can install the program without having to flash a whole new ROM. Thanks a bunch, in advance.

He just wanted the office cab that is why I refered him on the second post because the cab is on there. Just trying to help him find what he is looking for, I have a Kaiser and wife has 8525 so I check both sides...

What's the status on a working WM 6.1 rom?

I know you guys get this question daily, but I'm waiting on 6.1 to get ported to the S630 before I upgrade from my S620. Any promising progress or ETA?

i think a lot of people would like to know the latest status of the cavalier WM 6.1. It might be a good idea also if some of the developers working on the project coordinated together.

I want to cook WM6.1 rom for Cavalier. Anyone can give me help? Thanks

I would love to see a 6.1 rom as well. Even the Dash has one now!

Hey, what is the hitch in trying to develop WM 6.1 for the Cavalier? Is anyone working on this? Does anyone need help? I might have some resources to help. I have an unlocked X02ht coming in the mail for me to replace my dying Dash... I just realized I gotta jump back from 6.1 on my Dash to 6.0 on the X02ht. Seems sad. Please let me help, whoever is heading this project.

This seems to have stagnated. I've never cooked a ROM but I do have a technical side.
Where do we start?
Do we just approach someone who's done a 6.1 ROM for a different device?
Most of the ROM cooking guides seem to assume a ROM of the right version to start with...
Anyone point me in the right direction?

As there's no official WM6.1 Rom for the moment for Cavalier it is hard to create a cooked WM6.1 ROM as you need to port a working 6.1 ROM from another smartphone (my best guess is Excalibur as it has the same form - more or less) and porting is very hard thing to do.

Sorry no it won't. What needs to happen is for a ROM to be ported over to the Cavalier. There are a couple of walk throughs that I'm planing on looking at. If I make any progress I'll post it here, but don't hold your breath.

I heard somewhere- here probably- that we're waiting for a CID unlock before work can begin on a wm6.1 rom for the cavalier. Not being a developer, I haven't a clue what that means but I hope we get one quick, because I want that threaded sms! Anyone here know what a CID unlock is and how the developers can get one?

With HardSpl already active you don't need CID unlock anymore.
HardSPL make the device think that is CID unlocked but in reality it's not so you can flash any ROM you want.

recently i updated my TP2 with a new WM6.5 rom and i have some problems and i don't like it to much.
i'm looking for my original rom WM 6.1 rom ver. 1.19.408.0 (51489) ITA, can someone post me a link where i can find it?

Why not just go to the roms sub forum for the TP2 and use the search feature to look for it yourself instead of waiting for someone to post it for you? You'll likely find it MUCH quicker and not get flamed for asking someone to do the work for you.

I use from Animelover the Clean Black ROM 4.1 (WM 6.5.X) and it works fine.
My only problem is that the bluetooth no more working with my Carradio, that works under T-Mobile and WM 6.1 fine.

I have a HTC s621 running rogers WM6.0,can I use 3VOLUTION SERIES *][WM 6.5.3 STD,to update my phone to WM6.5 or do I first have to up date to WM6.1 using Windows Mobile 6.1 Final - By Kavana.I I'm a newbie at this,thank for any help you can give me,I have got a lot of info and apps from this form already.Great to have people who take time to help and teach each other,thanks,Les.

You can go staight into 3VO Rom. What it does is it "flashes" what is on there, completely erasing the bios and os giving a brand new Rom. 3VO is an excellent choice. One of my top 3.
