Hi guys!
Is there such a program so we can use our device to remotely control the itunes software (I am using a MAC). It would be great if we could see on the screen the itunes library, select a song, determine the volume etc.
That would really be great!!!
Thanks in advance!!
i use Signal from http://www.alloysoft.com/
it works for itunes, wmplayer and winamp on iphone and windows mobile.
Signal turns your iPhone, iPod touch, or Pocket PC into an advanced wireless remote control for iTunes on your Mac or iTunes, Winamp, or Windows Media Player on your PC. Control playback, browse or search your media library, and edit playlists from anywhere in the house - all from the palm of your hand.

The only way I'm aware of is using the SlingPlayer from www.slingmedia.com. There's a product called the Slingbox that can be hooked to your television or PC and will transmit streaming media to your mobile device. It's not free though.
thanks. was hoping for some sort of app such as vlc for the pc.
http://www.orb.com/
you can do it free with orb
There is a free addon to all versions of xp called media connect. It is also installed automatically with WM player 11 as well as vista. It will add UPnP support to your HOME network therefore you can stream software to things like your xbox 360, my nokia n800 tablet, or your dash with pocket player. UPnP is amazing on my n800 it should be just as good on the for pay pocket player. Media connect is totally free, and pocket player has a demo out.
I didn't like Orb very much, with my large collection it was kinda hard to find things. But it certainly works and also of course you can access it over the internet.
thanks to everyone. i got it sorted now thanks
Good morning guys, do you guys have any recommendations for a Media Player especially something that syncs itunes playlist, well at least that's my goal but if not any suggestions would be great. thanks

I can't help you with the Itunes Sync part since I don't use Itunes and never will; however, as for media players these are what I have installed and use pretty regularly
WM Media player
HTC audio manager
S2P really great but no playlist support unfortunately
TCPMP for video's and audio and I use this for internet radio- really great
MortPlayer - aslo really great and skinable with some really nice finger friendly skins available for download.
All of these are freeware and work perfectly on my HTC touch Elf. Unsure if any can sync with Itunes though or even how to sync with Itunes, but all worth checking out in my opinion
Again, cant help with the iTunes part but PocketPlayer is a great one. works great on my dash and looks nice too
Pocket player and pocket tunes are very good.
PocketPlayer defo the best music player, not sure but think you could use MediaMonkey to sync.
Thanks everyone, I really appreciate you suggestions, I'm trying Pocket Player now,
COREPLAYER is the best one for me.
I used pocket player and tcpmp somtimes, But i almost exclusively use COREPLAYER . I know it's not free, but one of the best players out there.
pocket tunes can sync with itunes
Wow, Pocket Tunes, looks hot and iTunes support ooof, I like, I like, I'm so vested in iTunes and kind off like it, my iTouch, etc etc.
Quick Question when i go to a site like streams4pda.com on my phone to try and stream something it opends up windows media player and gives me an error mssg what do i do
anyone? different media player?
For Mpeg Vids
I use "Pocket TV"..The best for me, No lag time or lip sync problems like I find with all the rest.
I wanted to use MX player/BS player with PS3 Media server but the damn media server won't transcode for me for some reason. I'm looking for any other suggestions for programs that don't have some small file limit and that i could use that will transcode all the file formats for me on my PC and stream it to my android. Any suggestions. I've tried so many Air Play it etc that I'm almost out.
Try RemotePotato
Try using Remote Potato on your PC with Windows Media Center (or even if you don't have it). It supports on the fly transcoding and has clients for Android and IOS platforms. I regularly watch MKV's (mostly soccer, sometimes movies) on both platforms and it's pretty solid. All the links and "how-to's" is on remotepotato dot com .
I too searched forever for something - God bless the developer, he really is onto something.

Im confused...how does remote potato allow me to take blu ray/hd movies I have ripped to my hard drive and transcode them into a less network streams over the network? I'm looking at Remote Potato now and there are no specific transcode options
save yourselves a long night by
1. turning off igmp proxy on your fios routers
2. turn off firewall during all of this
3. for the android: some combniation of mediahouse remote media serviigo es file explorer mx player, vplayer (8mb buffer)
4. for pc transcoding some combination of ps3media server (beautiful and ideal if it works, but buggy with no support), remote potato, servioo
For devs I tried to test the stream and connection with planet earth...the intro is high in bitrate
tomorrow im gonna decide what to keep and what to toss based on what works with my ps3

what are you using on your android to watch? i like remote media except for the fact it won't let me 'favorite' certain directories...kind of a pain to get to my desktop by browsing through c->users.....planet earth.
I have windows 8 and it has nice interface for bluethoth, and option to stream music to phone.
Unlucky for us its for windows phone. Is there any app/software so we can use those features on android?

I've been meaning to put some music onto my Note 2 running JellyBomb, but I don't really know what music program to use on my phone and PC (windows 8). For example, the google music app, the default music players, or possibly a music player in the play store. So just wondering, what program is everyone using on their Desktop that's similar to iTunes in organization to sync music to their phones? I tried using android apps that sync iTunes to android devices, but they don't really show the album artwork in the apps. Thanks in advance for any input/advice.

I'm using media monkey. Looks like iTunes but works with Android. Installs on windows, creates libraries, play lists, imports just about all music formats as well as converting to most popular formats. Manages your video, rips and burns CDs. Can act as a media manager both local or across a loan. Too much to mention. Just Google media monkey.

Winamp is my favorite. . I like that or is easy for sorting, ripping and shoutcast is great for streaming. .

I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. I use iTunes to manage my music on my Mac Mini but I just manually drag and drop stuff onto my Android devices.

I used Google Music. It's may not be quite feature rich as others such as iTunes or Zune. It works well on the phone. You can listen to music just on the device or everything on the device and uploaded to the cloud. They will even play songs not on either, if set for all songs. It also has a subscription service.
The music player is pretty plain, which is fine with me. Most people who like stuff like Beats just like how it increases the bass, which also increases distortion. But one can find music by artist, album, genre and so forth.
If you're just looking to play on the device and want more features, PowerAmp is very good choice and cheap.

+1 for Media Monkey. If you Google and install a developmental release, you can WiFi sync with the app in the play store. No media manager is as robust as media monkey and I have tried them all.

I also want to endorse Media Monkey. It's great for all of the things mentioned above and all of the great plugins you can customize it the way you like. The Discogs tagger is my fave.
