Hey there!
User projection and I managed to find a working solution for the HTC Touch HD's video playback problem. Lack of video acceleration lead me to finding a perfect solution for playing back high quality videos that would take advantage of the high resolution on that device.
When I ended up my seek with a conclusion on video playback, projection came up with an idea to create a video converter that would take advantage of Touch HD's graphic acceleration (which exists) and put it to work for playing back real crystal clear 800x480 videos.
So far it is working as it should (with a few bumbs though, but working) and since X1 and Touch HD are similar as per hardware, I asked a friend to test a video for me on his X1.
Results are fabulous.
Here's the app.

First it is not my idea. Thanks to Marauderz from marauderzstuff.com
It's a way to watch videos with avi, mkv container without long time conversion. Not for all videos, but most popular, I think.
For transfer videos you can use USB Storage Enabler Tool.
You only need to convert container from AVI, MKV to MP4 with M2RecontainInMP4.

Awesome! Thanks for posting and thanks to the developer!

thanks definitely saves a lot of time
Is there any way, either through a mod or app, to adjust the sensitivity or pick up of the microphone in video camera mode on the HOX? I was filming some bands last night and the picture quality was great, but the sound was pretty bad. The stereo microphone setting was even worse. Any tips appreciated.
+1
increasing audio quality is important as well as video. I am waiting some devs realize it and working to make our HOX better.
+1!!
Sometimes I just watch my videos on mute because of the lack of bass
Ultra sensitive microphone as I've noticed too
on xda for android and mistyping like a boss
I found an app called Voodoo Sound on the market, which has this setting for microphones:

Unfortunately it doesn't currently support my kernel or the HOX in general. Have emailed the developer to add our device. Looks interesting.
The camera is producing very poor quality videos with slow-motion enabled, Did anyone have this problem ? is it caused by the CPU/GPU rendering ?
The video produced is completed unsharp and have broken edges (no AA), looks worse than VGA quality.
Here I have uploaded a screen before and after turning the slow-motion recording mode, during the recording:
Before :

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
AFTER(fully focused on the object):
I have noticed this problem with all custom ROMS i have installed with stock and custom kernels/modules.
Currently running ViperX latest, Faux 7
I don't think is customs rooms problems , is from HTC , the original room is the same ,probably becouse slow motion videos usually need lots of resources.

Hi, is there a way that this phone used the entire screen for playing videos? (I don't mean YouTube zoom), I mean that use the both sides of the notch like iPhone X phones or the One+ 6, thx for answer it will be great to get this doubt resolved.
In the pics you can see how it cuts to 18:9 size. And add a black bar.

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Videos are at most 18:9 our screen is 19:9 so it's perfect without notch....
You need to ask in a modded youtube maybe...
Try youtube vanced
Since updating to A13 , all videos shot in 4k or 8k come out very saturated and unnatural, even after a factory reset, I attached a screenshot from one of the videos I shot recently. It's very annoying and almost unusable.
Anyone having a similar experience or has any idea how to fix this

r?
When shooting in 1080 the colors are fine, only when shooting 4k or 8k I get this issue, I thought it was a playback issue from the gallery, but even playing the videos on tv or laptop I see the same issue.
Which A13 stock version are you on?
What version of the camera app are you using?
I don't know of there is a 4k / 8k photo taking mode, however if there is:
Do you get the same oversaturation when taking photos in 4k and 8k?
Is there an AI mode that can be deactivated?
