which program to manage contacts?
for me it's "Inesoft Phone 4". Have a look on this prog - it's worth!

Got to be contact breeze, all it does is search for the contact you want and gives you the option to dial, sms, or email etc..
Options to increase font size kepad type and info display (name, name& no. etc)
There is a vga black keypad for it and the search method is really fast T9 predictive type entry.

Hi, Palm 750 does have an app search contacts from Today screen. This app is great, so no stupid search in long contacts list. Does anybody know how this app from Palm is called?
HTC Home quick contacts tab is great too.
hmmm if i open my keyboard and start typing the name of the person i want to call that will open the dial pad and it will allow me to call that person.
that's the way palm app works, but our keyboard is a slide out...

Change or Hide Contact Pictures

Is there a way for me to change the default pictures or maybe hide them?
Also, is there a way to add a scroll bar to that list? I miss being able to skip to say, the "M" names in a few seconds.
I am wondering the same thing. I miss navigating the iPhone dialer because you can just tap on the alphabet and it'll bring you right to where you wanted to be.
*A shameful self bump*
there are other contact managers in the marketplace, you could give them a try. i havnt really messed around with any, so i cant really recommend anything.
what i would suggest is to use your groups, manage your friends in a friends group, family, work and so on... that way you dont have to scroll through large number of contacts... the nice thing about using groups is that you can quickly send mass texts or emails...and if you use google voice you can have different voicemails based on the different groups.

[Q] Declutter your Android Calendar

UPDATED
I have done some more playing around and found that if you change the setting in Facebook itself to "Hide Declined Events" this also hides them in the exported calendar URL.
Problem fixed!

Hey Team
I have looked all over and found lots of treads on changing what shows up on your phones Calendar but none are quite what im looking for,
what I want is for the Android Calendar to show only the Facebook Events I have accected or not resonded to yet and my standard Google calandar.
What I have tried:
Syncing with all of Facebook: This brings the Events you have accepted and Not answered yet but it also bring every single friends Bithday over, filling you calendar/Agenda with junk
Exporting the FaceBook Cal via URL: This brings over the events without the Birthdays but has ALL events even the ones you have declinded
Does anyone know a way to get the accecpted events (and the not yet replied if possiable) without the BIrthday reminders?
Thanks heaps
P.S Can a MOD please remove this if you think this will not help others,
Thanks

activesync contacts not stored on device for offline usage

Hi there,
I am using the 10.5 Tab S wifi-only with unofficial Cyanogenmod. As backend I am using a Horde groupware server with Activesync support. Everything seems to work fine, but I have a problem with my activesync contacts. The stock contacts app doesn't display any contacs, although I selected to display all contacts (including local and exchange contacts). Someone could assume that the exchange contacts aren't synced. However, when I use the magnifier icon to search for contacts, the result list does in deed show my exchange contacts. Furthermore, as soon as I turn off wifi the search doesn't work any more. So it seems contacts are searched online only and no information is stored locally.
Any idea how to solve this?
Here some screenshots:
