How does the long SMS appear in your inbox?

I would expect to see one SMS as a whole when message longer than 160 characters arrives, instead of this Artemis shows the SMS divided into several parts mostly even sorted out of order in the Inbox folder, is that common behaviour for Artemis device or is there any setting for this?

That's odd, they work fine for me - I just get one long message. Are you sure it's not something to do with the sender's network / phone?
This is on an UK 02 XDA Orbit BTW.

I also have a problem with sms.
But not as above.
When i receive a sms. i can read it.
But when i want to read same sms again later in mine Inbox. I can select it.. Reply , forward, move it etc ... but i can't open it
Only way i can read it again is to forward it so i see mine text..
I have wm6
and OS 4.3xxxx

You don't happen to have Black & Blue v1 installed do you? As this is an issue that's been corrected in v2. V3 is being worked on at the moment so you may as well wait for that to be released before upgrading.
athamas: My long texts are stored in the inbox as one long message, even the same size as the shorter ones surprisingly. UK supplied o2 XDA Orbit with WM6 btw.

Sounds like you have v1, not entirely sure tho as I never installed this one onto my device. If it looks like the screenshots below then it probably is:

Best bet is to wait till v3 is released as like I said previously, he's working on it now and it'll save you the hassle of rebuilding your phone twice!

Downgrading to WM5 question *theme help please*

Hello all, I've recently got into the whole pocket pc phone game not long ago but I've been researching on this phone for quite a bit. When I bought my secondhand hermes it came with the att/cingular wm5 rom, and i thought an upgrade to the newer wm6 would be nice since the UI looks nicer.
but after doing so i noticed a real huge difference in the decrease of performance speed. I've tried many wm6 roms from this forum like schaps, black, etc, also each of their lite versions too.
so i've come to the conclusion that i'll sacrifice the nice UI for performance by downgrading back to the hermes' native rom, which i did and i am now using htc's latest wm5 rom from this thread.

this is has been working nicely for me, speed is much faster than wm6, and i'm not minding the UI too much now that i think about it.
but the thing is it comes with htc's ugly neon green theme that makes it so dang hard to read the white text. i know i can easily change the theme + comm mgr + dialer theme, but i really dont want to add more to the phone than necessary........
so are there any other roms with more pleasing theme available for america/english language and works with att/cingular? i tried looking for this but i cant seem to find any cooked wm5, compared to the dozens of cooked wm6 ones. any input is appreciated!

i tried black satin ROM and it ran pig slow, i went to black majik ROM and its nice and speedy now.

madman, i've tried black majik before and i believe it was still a bit laggy in comparison. is this mod only available with wm6? i would like to stick with wm5 if possible

well, there isnt good way to do it. You can download addons on hermes wiki. anyway if you want a fast, good and stable rom, i prefer the ProBlack 3.0.1. its really fast and very stable rom for me. Ofcourse, if you want to stay with wm5 - you have only one way with themes of dialpad and others - you need to install them.

WM6.1 for i-mate ultimate 8150

i-mate states that it should be out this year but still wm6 is all that they have.

The imate site says WM6.1 is available now for both the 6150 and 8150. I hope microSDHC works too!

i have a 8150 n tcpmp .72 doesnt seem to work
i get an error msg "unexpected program faliure.please send crash.txt to the developer.program will now exit"
can anybody tell me how to get it working

You could try any 'touchflo m2d' rom, i don't think that you could find one that works with good performance. M2D is just too heavy for our Artemis. Well, at least that's my point of view after testing several ROM's.

its that M2D interface which is causing you the performance problems you are trying to get rid of.
installing another M2D rom will give you the same issues
some are better than others, browse for M2D in the thread title of roms on here and see what other user's comment are....but i wouldn't post messages in them all asking what the performance is like because we'll all just get a front page full of bumped old threads

Well I use Achile's Youtube Online version 3 from 1/2/2009 and it looks exactly like this, it's fast & stable. The link is her above on the same page.
Best rom I have tested (with best layout), I just flashed back from the latest 6.5 (which was slow & today screen boring).

I agree that the rom from achilles is the best M2D rom there is. I also detest the today screen from the latest roms, so I will stick to this one.
I'm only having problems with a few things.
- my email and text message sound doesn't play at all when receiving a message
- my memory usage is too high
- I can't install a Hotmail-account
- there is no word completion when I compose a message
- I can't switch from conversation mode to single message mode in my text messages
- messages aren't marked as read until the message is opened in the Windows Mobile messaging program
Does anybody know the answer to (one of) these issues?

Problems/bugs

Well I'm also the happy owner of the TP2... But if have some issues/bugs that maybe some of you have a solution for.
When I restart my phone, sometimes manila doesn't start at all.
So I start it up manually, but then it seems that parts are not working. Like quantity notifications of the messages...
Also the device sometimes gives a message that it cannot connect to the gprs, while I have a network connection and other phones have no problem with the same provider. And then I notice that the H sign is very weird and there's no info about it in the manual.
Here you can see an image, the red arrow points to the weird symbol.

You can only modify the total sound volume and not ring or phone volume. That's not handy because my sms sound is too low.
Is there a tweak to change the soft touch buttons? Like Phone - Camera buttons to change to contact - sms or something else...

This is really ennoying... My battery was low and phone shutted down.
So I connection the power supply, started the phone and yeah AGAIN... stupid Manila doesn't start. No feature started.. I feel like throwing it away now.
Hope someone has a solution to it?

One issue solved...
Well I uninstalled SPB gprs monitor and now manila starts up fine.
I also set a delayed startup for S2U2 for about 20s, so that manila starts up first.

these have nothing to do with htc touch pro2 itself dude!
it's about the rom you installed in it,so pls return to your technician to get a good rom!
it's like you have super good pc,but the windows xp you installed is crap,then your pc will always get this problem and that......
FYI: rom means: OS(wm 6.5 for example)+Radio(GSM etc)+Extrom(touchflo 3d etc)

For the strange color of the "H" icon, it's mean you don't receive grps correctly in the place you are.Try to move to see a change.
For your problem of the TF3D's starting, i have the same problem when S2U2 was installed, see in the forum you can find a special version modified for TP2.
