I am planning a upgrade from WM5 to WM6 and I wish to keep all my SMS, is there any solution can bring my SMS from my existing WM5 Tytn to WM6?
Thanks!
try to search for "Jeyo SMS Backup"
i used it for the same purpose
worked well
cheers,

very easy
backup your messages before you upgrade with PIMBackup
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705
save the backup file you created to a storage card or anything else except your device memory
after finishing upgrading to WM6, restore your messages using the same program and the backup file you created
many thanks for quick replies
hope the official rom can be released asap

HERE YOU GO
"TEHENE MI ZE"
Thanks
Thank you!
PIM Backup works just as good and does call logs, appointments, etc.. might want to look that one up too.
I know ppmbackup but it has a problem: in order to backup sms you need to backup all kind of messages you have, including e-mails. I think "jeyo sms backup" backup just the sms's.
Uh, you can backup or NOT backup whatever you want with PIMBackup. Might want to look into it. It's a great program.
PIMBackup is a lot better than SMS Backup and have many backup options. Just select the right options and it will make the selective backup for you nicely.
Get the latest one PIMBackup 2.5
Whether supports PIM Backup start with parameters, for example, with parameter " - MakeBackup "?

hey guys,
ok so the jeyo sms backup - when i hit restore it pretty much freezes after about 80%. have left it for hours but it isn't DOING anything. any ideas what could be wrong? the backup definitely completed successfully, backup size 363.7kb.
If Jeyo SMSBackup doesn't work for you, you can try PPCPIMBackup. Just do a search. It's a lot better than Jeyo's, faster too. You can also backup your contacts and other PIM data aside from SMS.

I use SPB backup. Not sure if it does it all but it does the full ROM and you can select any folder and such to restore so should be possible

+1 The best for me
thanks mate
thanks mate i will wait n see if i get any more replys and try some stuff thanks again man
I use Spb Backup also, but firts of all, I backup the desktop each night on a NAT server (including Outlook)
sktools full backup and than you can restore whatever you want.
taking in consideration that I flash my device with new ROM's once to twice a week, it always takes me a couple of hours to tweak my device as i want it.
So, can there be made a script with which I can specify which apps I want to install (when the device is prepared for its first use or even better when it is started for the first time so I can see which of the apps I want are already in the ROM) and where (either to the device or the storage card)?
If it can be done, can anybody help me with some pointers?
U can try SASHIMI
take a look here [REF] How-To: automate backup (inc. Manila conf) before a ROM upgrade using SASHIMI
and here [UC] User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using Sashimi
