Hi there,
I have the O2 XDA Orbit and I have a little question.
When I get a SMS and click on it then I can read the message - okay.
But the screen only shows the name who has written the SMS and the text. When I scroll at the top of the sms I can see the date and the time for example. Where can I set up that I always see the SMS from the top (with the date/time etc)?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently using the Blacck version 2.0 ROM, and I have some issues:
- I can't recept the sms sent notification, I have to go in my Inbox, then the Notification come. I have the sale problem with all of my messages, I have to go to my inbox for receipt them.
- When my TyTN starts, he doesn't ask me my PIN code anymore, I have to go on the Comm manager, and then he ask me the PIN code.
Thanks for your answers.
The first sounds like you simply haven;t set up your sounds and notifications to display the message on screen (Start, settings, Sounds and Notifications, Notifications Tab - then click down to new sms and tick the box for display message on screen).
The second is a WM6 bug. Cold booting goes into flight mode for some reason.
Thanks for your answers.
1) The box is already ticked, and the sound too
2) okay, thanks. Will it be corrected in the next Black release ?
And I have an other question:
When i start a new text message, on the box "To", when I'm typing the name of my contact, he doesn't list me the names.
For example, i want to send a message to my girlfriend, ChloƩ. When I start typing "Ch" he doesn't list me my cobtacts who start whit "Ch". It is a bug ?
Hi guys,
I have a question about the text messages (SMS). When you receive an SMS, it will show you the date when the SMS was received but it DOES NOT show you what time the SMS was received. Is there ANY way to turn this on?
So besides the date, I also want to know on what time I receive my SMS messages.

It shows me the date AND the time on mine, I don't know why it doesn't on your device.
Where does it show the time then? All I see is:
- Name
- Text itself
- Date
- Size of message in Kb
Perhaps my version on WM6 is a bit messed up. You prolly have to Official WM6?
On the list view the time is not displayed, but when you open the individual messages it is.
(Official WM6 ROM)
noticed the side bar? it has extra space going up, when you push the dpad upward it shows the details. maybe they thought it would save some space, because no everybody wants to see the full detail. But I agree with you, its nice to see the date and time, so just scroll upward and you'll see it.

Hi there,i'm looking for a solution about an sms bug i have noticed on my P3600(udk 3.0 ITA WM6 FE)
When i receive an sms and i go to my sms list i see that the system orders them according the time/date of the sender and not the time/date of my p3600.
That means that if i receive an sms now from my girlfriend who lives in Australia(8hours time difference from Italy where i live)and then i receive other sms from my contacts from Italy, the list shows first the "australian" sms and then the "italian" ones!
Is there any solution to fix this bug or it's just that my P3600 gives priority to my girlfriend's sms???
Another issue: does somebody knows who to see the photo of the contact when you receive a sms?
In palm os there is a new app called picturesms but I don't know an app with this functionality for wm.

If the person who sends you a sms is in your contact list and if you have assigned a photo to that contact, when you open that sms, you should see his photo. It works automatically on my device, no more app needed.

When your using outlook, you assign pictures for every contact, when you sync it to your pocketpc it automatically shows the pictures, no extra software needed, saves a lot of space. of course you need to open the sms in order for you to see the picture, same goes with email etc.
but if you really want a 3rd party software try googling photo contacts.
Hi,
I don't like the treaded sms and also the fact that If I have a message from an unknown number, the same number is listed as a part of the Pocket CM contact list. Is there a workaround to this problems.
I don't want threaded messages and listing of messages phone number in my contact list.
Help
For disabling sms Threading see here:

The second part i don't understand sorry.
Cheers
...or settings in Advance Tool Settings
Let me explain the second problem.
I received a message (maybe promotional message) from an unknown sender (someone who is not part of my contact list). Once I have received this message and its part of my message inbox. Now this number from where I have received the message is listed in my contact list with a number of messages received in the contact list. This is one feature that i don't want.
Here something
Thing ab this *.cabs
Thanks to Meshle! Be strong Brother!
Thanks a lot - That will be really helpfull.
I've installed the lite version (without cube) and just wondering if I can change the keyboard when texting, I find the individual keys a bit too small, wonder if a different style keyboard is out there?. Also when writing out the 1st line of the text and upon reaching the end of the screen it does not scroll to the 2nd line but continues across with loss of text already typed to the left...any ideas how it can be resolved?
Thanks
I can view conversation threads with people in my Contact list, but what if I want to review an SMS message I've sent to someone who isn't in my Contacts? Or if I've forgotten who I sent a message to? There doesn't seem to be a 'Sent Messages' folder to browse?
See the "Text Messaging" icon in your tray (near the bottom), if I click on mine it shows all my texts.

Sorry, don't know what you mean. What app are you using?
I have no tray and no text messaging icon.
I am just using the native 'Text Messaging' App - It only shows INCOMING SMS messages.

In my native text messaging app, incoming texts are displayed in yellow bubbles, but outgoing ones are in grey bubbles in the same chat window. If the contact is not in my contacts list, then just the number appears instead of the name.
Hope that helps.

Yes, If I select an INCOMING text, then the conversation thread opens and I see the grey and yellow bubbles you have described, but that only works if I can find an INCOMING text from that particular contact.
When I open the Text Messaging App, I can only see a list of RECEIVED messages (no SENT MESSAGES), so I can't select a SENT MESSAGE. There is no option to view SENT messages.
Or put it another way, I can't see SENT messages to anyone who hasn't replied.
Try sending a new text message to a non-contact (someone who has never sent you a message). Then search for the message you have just sent? You can't find it.
Go to your apps drawer and click on "Messaging" app. From there select "Text Messages". This will open all the conversations you have had. I have several in there from people who are not in my contacts due to craigslist sales and wrong number texts.
Edit: Nevermind, I think I misunderstood you. I don't know any numbers to text that are not in my contacts that haven't already texted me so I can't check what you are saying.

Yes I can.
Top entry in the list of conversations in the text messaging app.
Also, for other contacts, I see a snippet of the most recent message in the conversation, not the most recent received message - so if I was the last person to say something, it shows the start of the message I sent.
No idea what's wrong with your handset to be honest...

OK you are right, sorry for the confusion.
It's just that there is no distinction between RECEIVED messages and SENT messages in this view (They are the same colour, font, background).
I guess I am used to my WM6 device where I had seperate folders (views) for Inbox and Sent.
What I'm asking is - is there any way I can view ALL and ONLY my SENT text messages? without seeing RECEIVED?

Not with the stock messaging app.
Maybe if you were to use a third-party app like Handcent but that's really just a guess on my part as I've never used it myself...
from market - go sms pro . free right now , it has inbox, sent, outbox and all that
hi all,
since buying this nexus i find new things very annoying.
press handset icon
call log appears
click any number and you see a message icon right of number and on top the name of contact
click message icon
in message editor some contacts no name only number appearing
how to fix it?
regards
I don't get the question. Are you saying from the contacts app/call log sending a message from their contact page gives you only the number when you send a message and not the name also? If so, mine is fine, always has been. You might need to re-sync your contacts and try again. If I missed the point, apologies
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
contacts
my contacts are sync with gmail.
1- press call log
2- select any name you dialed or received a call
3- click on message icon on right
4- text editor appears but at times only number is on top
please see attached pix.
regards,
