Unlock At&T Tilt for Optus or other Australian Provider - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi All, I have taken my At&T Tilt to Australia. AT&T provided the unlock code which seems to have worked. Seems is the operative word. I can make and receive domestic and interntional calls. I can send and receive domestic text. I can connect to networks via Wi-Fi. However, what does not work is the data connection to the Optus/ Virgin network, despite me manually configuring the set up per instructions for the TyTn II I was given. It does not make or receive domestic or international MMS. It does not make or receive international text. I inserted the SIM card into another WM6 smart phone, Australian edition of the HTC diamond, and it was able to connect to the internet via the cell phone network. So it is not the SIM card. I have tried some configuration changes without effect. HTC says it is a ROM issue. I would like additional opinions and of course, any fixes. The phone beats all other phones, including the iPhone for my needs so I want to keep it. Thank you.

Maybe it is the radio! Read through the radio thread in the kaiser section and if you can, contact your provider to see what radio they use for their stock ROM and flash that radio or the closest one! read the thread all the way through to see if anyone else is in your area and what radio they are using! Hopefully that helps!
Edit:Here you go click this link...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182&page=5
First post is from a guy in your part of the word! Try the radio he lists or if you have to, maybe you can PM him! Hope you get it working, I would go nuts without my data working! You can PM me as well if you have any more questions!

Could be a proxy issue etc. Internation text/calls would be subject to having international 'access' provided by Optus. maybe register and check out HTC club for any ROM specific to Optus?

Good man! Thanks for jumping in on this! I feel bad for this guy!

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. I have checked the thread and see information on the radios. I am a mere neophtye when it comes to radios. Where can I find the radio's mentioned and then how do I install them?
Thanks.

Any progress on unlocking (changing MSL) on Harrier?

Has anyone been able to modify the MSL on the Harrier/PPC6600/XV6600 yet?
My unit was on a prepaid Sprint account and I would like to activate it on a Verizon account.
Thanks!
I can change the MSL on the Harrier.
however It may or may not work for you, I dont think Im allowed to post that info due to confidentiality stuff.
so dont pm me, and I wont reply with something to try.
cheers.
I have the same issue. I have a Harrier/PPC6600 from Sprint and I want to use it on my Canadian CDMA provider. My provider will not have a problem with the ESN# being clean, but the phone needs to be unlocked to use their PRL. I'm checking with the carrier to see if they can do it or if they purchase their phones elsewhere. If the carrier can do it, great - otherwise I also need a way to unlock the phone.
Thanks
John

see how rhauff gets along,
if it works for him im sure he'll be able to point you in the right direction.
the other thing to try is a bit of social engineering and ring sprint, ask to speak to there Corporate team and just explain to them that the company you work has a couple of harriers and you want to swap the numbers and could they please send the reprogramming details to you via email,
then explain you will ring the back as soon as the devices get to you (as they are currently in transit) and once you have changed the numbers on them.
it will work.. trust me.
Inane, you are just full of good ideas! I'm still waiting for the battery so I can try the reprogramming, it'll probably be next week before that happens. I will let you guys know how it works out though!
Finally got the batteries last weekend, ordered them from 2mangoes on Ebay and got them direct from China! They seem to be good, perfect fit and last about as expected.
Thanks for your help inane, I did use the MSL access code quite a bit. I think it is safe to post here, I have seen it listed, have not seen it forbidden and it is all over pdaphonehome.com.
Here are my result, this is a copy of my post on pdaphonehome.com:
Well, I had searched and didn't find any success on this. I posed the question hoping somebody had solved this but hadn't posted it yet.
Anyway, I was able to switch this over (only partially at the moment!) using the existing Sprint MSL. A Verizon MSL of 000000 would only be required to do OTA programming (PRL & network info).
My procedure was as follows:
1. Program the PPC6600 with Verizon's radio ROM to support their EVDO PRL.
2. Using ##775#, load Verizon's PRL 50430.prl.
3. Using ##MSL#, change Mobile number (MDN) and MSID. I used my mobile number as the MSID, which I think is correct.
4. Using ##778#, under MSL settings, I changed the SID/NID to 26 which is Verizon's ID for the Mpls/St. Paul market. I don't know if this step was required. As I understand it, Verizon may ignore this, not sure.
Ok, that's pretty much it. Called in and had the ESN activated on my account. They REQUIRED me to put a data plan on, I went with the $0.015/Kb.
Anyway, outbound calling works fine, but inbound lands at my voice mail. Txt messaging no go yet, and no Internet. I did enter my username [email protected] and password=vzw, and set DNS addresses, but still need to get a proper IP for PHA and SHA (still have Sprint's numbers).
Any ideas on what I need to change to make inbound calling to work?
EDIT*************************
OK, solved the outbound (long time ago, actually). I set roaming to HO, home only. Now in and out bound work great. I got data connection working by setting, under 3GDATA1, to "No IP".
i-mate pda2k evdo
How about i-mate pda2k evdo, is this setting work fine on this PDA?
Sorry, can't help you with that. I've only worked on the HTC Harrier.
After you entered the ##775#, it asks for an unlock code. Where to you get the unlock code it is looking for?

[Q] Can I make calls on the SM-T217S??

Hello,
I have searched throughly for my questions but didn't find anything unfortunately...
Will the tab 3 SM-T217S be able to make calls? I am talking regular calls not using apps that use data.
I live in a country where there is CDMA network provider and heard that there is no dialer on this tab which is important for me to programme the tab into my country's CDMA network provider.
I also came across a forum where it said the call functionality is there in the tab 3 but sprint has blocked it because the will only give you a plan with data not voice, so does that mean that if the SM-T217S gets programmed to another CDMA provider the call functionality can work normally??
I appreciate any help guys and thanks in advance!

Hey, i was about to purchase this to flash to IUSACELL Mexico, but instead went with the ATT version with SIM card because i have a better data plan with GSM provider than CDMA provider.
But i did some research prior going with the gsm tablet, and it appears you can flash it with DFS cdma soft, and of course if the new plan has DATA/VOICE it should work like a phone and sms and all that, providing you download a dialer and use an external hands free headset (i dont think it has a speaker like the GT3 8").
You wont find much information, all has to be done with trial and error.

Setting up uk m8 for t-mobile trouble

Hi,
I opened another thread regarding safest method to change from unlocked stock os to the T-Mobile release for Wi-Fi calling, possibly in wrong area as somewhat related to T-Mobile, however my main worry is ensuring I will have full 4g/LTE support, I am awaiting a sim card of a T-Mobile mvno, but I've seen several places I'd likely not be able to even use 3g without enabling the bands required, I've come across various guides .
Several said to use ##3424# or something alike(I'm out right now so can't confirm) to get into diagnostics, this does not work, I can however use the *#*#3424#*#*(again might be incorrect code) however this is self check options and to calibrate vibration etc, unable to connect with qpst with this.
Any help would be helpful, I purchased the phone second hand unlocked to use when I visit the US, I know it's unlocked and works in UK, just require it for use in US as I use an m9 as my main phone.
Would be nice to get the Wi-Fi calling function but not important.
Any help on how to go about this would be great.
Regards,
V4mpire

Note 4 N910A from to France

Hello everyone, I am French and I live in France, I bought on the Internet (Amazon) a note 4 thinking that it would be made for France. I received a note 4 with reference N910A, so a phone that is done normally for the USA. On my phone I have android kitkat 4.4.4 and no recent android version is available when I ask for the update. With my phone I have all AT & T applications that do not serve in France. I can call and send SMS, but I can not send mms. I would like to know how I can install a newer version of Android still being able to continue to use my note 4 in France, please.
to upgrade the software you need to follow the directions in the thread below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-att/general/marshmellow-att-server-link-installation-t3407308
for MMS to work you probably need to adjust some setting on your phone. If you call your carrier they should be able to help you put in the correct MMS setting. You shoudl also check if the internet is working so they can help you with that was well if its an issue.
If you can get an AT&T sim card or AT&T MVNO's sim card, like H20 wireless, insert the sim card into your phone and probably can get update from AT&T(of course the phone need to be able to access the internet), at least it works in US. The MMS issue depends on your carrier, you need to ask your carrier how to set the phone to get MMS works.

Question Desperate help needed Z Fold 3 SM-F926B. Cant use any sim.

Need some help guys. I am based in Australia and swapped an iPhone for the Z Fold 3. Went through the usual connection process with my sim and esim whilst connected to wifi. All was well as it allowed calls and received calls when I was home. As soon as I stepped outside my home where it was trying to use the network, it does not work. It keeps saying not registered on network. Tried to manually select network via settings, checked all APN settings from the network and all is ok. Even tried 3 different carrier sims (Vodafone, Optus and Telstra) yet still no matter what this phone will never connect to any carrier network without wifi. From there I tried 3 different firmwares from Sam mobile just in case it had corrupt firmware. Both android 11 and 12 will not work. Need help guys please. Any suggestions?
Did you try calling the carrier or going online to their site and activate the phone? Not from Australia but I think it's worth a try.

Thank you can't leave your reply. May I ask what you mean? This is an unlock phone from what I've been made aware. Upon checking it on The Australian database to ensure it is clear, this appears to be unlocked to all networks. If you can be kind as to provide details on what you mean I am more than happy to follow your instructions and try. Thank you.

Hi there. When I first got my unlocked phone and put in my Verizon sim, it worked right away. However, when I logged on to the Verizon site, it was showing my old phone with the new IMEI and the phone could receive calls but not call out. I called Verizon and asked them to activate which fixed the issue. Can't you call the carrier and ask if they can help you figure out why you can't call when on the cell network?
That is the same error I get here in the States if I try to manually connect to any roaming network (network other than T-mobile, the carrier I use).

It works on T-mobile, but it refuses to connect to any other network, and if I try manually to switch, it gives that same error message you get. Roaming is included in my plan for calls, text, and data, so it is supposed to work, but these phones have issues. I currently have the temporary fix on my phone for the T-mobile issue, so it has stopped flipping to "Emergency Calls Only" and back, but the fix prevents it from seeing other networks now. Whether it is Samsung or T-mobile who has to fix it, it needs to be fixed!
