Can someone help me please.
Like many I was anxiously waiting for the new ROM for my KJam because of A2DP. As soon as it was on the iMate site I flashed my device only to find out that it wasn't included.
Based on experience I figure it will be months before iMate do a new release, so I'm kinda stuck, or am I?
iMate say that I cannot go backwards after having loaded the new ROM, but I read in the forum that maybe it is possible. (I didn't have the foresight to backup my old ROM to SD though).
What I want to do now, if I can, is load up the test Qtek WWE Rom from the FTP site. The feedback there suggests it works well, so I am willing ot try it, if it means I will get A2DP.
Can anyone advise me how to do that (if I can).
Thanks all.
As far as I know you can reflash your rom with any rom. As long as it is divice compateable.
Im fairly new to this.
So find the one you want on this forum or the wiki and reflash the same way you did the last one.
I have run about 3 differnet ROMs on my UNI up to now. I find the latest imate rom very stable.
I have rolled back to the O2 rom currently as I want to play with the extended rom on the o2 rom and put it into the exetended rom on imate.
Again I forgot to back it up.
Hi everybody. I as probally most of u have a Diamond. I've been reading freaqently about Hardspl roms and such since it seems to make your diamond alot faster and better I would like to update/change my rom. As I understand HardSPL is usefull in the way that you can't brick your phone with rom flashing once you have HardSPL flashed. Am I right?
Then there is the choice of hardSPL. I've been looking at OliNex's unsigned 1.40 and OliNex signed 1.38. It seems signed is safer but Unsigned is more open, since you can flash any rom at all. I'm not real sure which one to get since I don't really know what rom seems most suitable for me.
I'm looking for a fast rom, ofcourse, most preferbly a swedish rom but I can survive with english as long as it's possible to get swedish (full and compact) QWERTY. Any suggestions on what rom I should use?
Then Radio I have kind of no idea what that is, can someone explain that real quick?
I guess i'm not the first of making this kindof thread, but please help a guy out. Thanks alot for all hard work so many of you put in to make the diamond more usefull!
Also it would be nice to be able to restore the diamond back to it's original spl and rom for warranty reasons. I have the vers and all written up. I've been looking at swifts rom, and duttys. Are those to recommend and what kind of HardSPL would I have to use to get either of them?

Hi guys,
I've done lots of research and searching but can't find a definite answer to this so i'll ask.
I'm running duttys latest V2 rom, but ever since I've changed the rom from the stock on my MDA Compact IV I keep having random dropouts of sound, this is really annoying as you can imagine! after much readingg it seems to be that the problem would reside with the SPL, anouther reason for this logic is that i've tried all the different HardSPL's and they seem to make the problem more or less freqent depending on the SPL but not disspear intirely. Now the question would be, if I have already installed the ROM I want and am happy with it, could I flash back to the original SPL and keep the ROM? or would this cause difficultys?
Thanks
Damian
Since you already have your desired ROM, you can go back to original SPL.
It should be no problem.
Hey everyone,
Is it necessary to HardSPL before every ROM update?
I have dutty rom but bbc iplayer dosen't work on it so thinking about changing to another one...
Also what is the best way to pick a ROM? What do you compare?
Thanks
No, once you've installed a Hard-SPL it will work for every ROM update. Well, Hard-SPL's that support unsigned ROM's will work for every ROM update. Hard-SPL's that only support signed ROM's will work only on signed ROM's.
As for comparing ROM's; that is very personal.. Most popular ROM's are very much the same if it comes to speed. Differences are mainly in functionality, stability and the way they look out of the kitchen. Read the ROM topics and find out if what they have to offer suits you!
Do you want a tweaked and full functional ROM with a lot of applications cooked in? Or do you prefer a light or naked ROM, so you can save your space for just the applications you prefer and tweak it yourself?
Do you want it to look like a HTC stock Diamond or do you like what some cooks have done with the way the taskbar and TF3D look? Remember that you can install all applications, do some tweaking and change the look of your Diamond yourself.
As for stability, read the member remarks in the ROM's topics! That will give you a clue what to expect.
Just a question from my side which I cant seem to find an answer for (might be using the wrong search syntax). A ROM update should not affect the workings for your cell provider? As long as you know the MMS and other settings you can use any English (home language) ROM and your device will still pick up your service provider without a hitch?
My reason for asking is because I have noticed that even though HTC has released a new ROM past 1.93, if I go to the website enter my serial the only ROM I can download is still the 1.93. Thats why I am asking this n00b question...
just upgraded to the touch diamond from the e650... but there seem to be LOADS more roms for this phone, im just wondering what the best one is or what is the update for my one.
rom ver:1.93.405.1 wwe
rom date :08/06/08
radio:1.00.25.05
i tryed to download am updated rom from htc site by adding my s/n but it doesnt let me, i gues my phone is an inport from hong kong :S tho it have registerd on the uk site :S
would be greatfull if someone can help, best cooked rom and updated standerd rom???
could also have somethink to do with its from orange??? tried to look on the orange website but couldnt find my phone on ther :S
so if anyone knows of a orange rom update too would be good. tho i dont want ****y orange branding
try to download the newest htc rom with Internet Explorer
use this as serial on htc website : ht822gn28022
btw, try cooked roms, they are lot better than stocks and dont ask which one is best coz different people likes different roms
I ordered mine through Hong Kong also (im from Australia), and like you I cant get a 'stock' ROM to download via the official site, and even if you get someone else to download it for you, it comes up as the wrong ROM type when you attempt to flash it.
There is a Telstra ROM floating around that you can download via unofficial means, and I got that to install ok, but it has a heap of bigpond specific links on it.. not to mention doesnt actually work without a Telstra SIM (plus its a boring ROM anyway).
As for cooked ROM's, yes id recommend just choose one you like, they are all decent, some just have better applications or aesthetics which is nice, however if I had my time again, I might think twice, because there is a hard-reset issue that has been floating around for quite a few users... and the fixes havent worked, so I pretty much need to get a new phone now.
before you loose hours and hours trying
try the BsB-o, best rom here
yo adsoxda my diamond was on orange france, from france i cannot use my model number on htc website as well, but i used that one (ht822gn28022) which wasnt come frome my phone and downloaded rom, flashed and enjojed for couple of days before i moved to cooked . Gary dont forget about hard spl and mitty have fun

"best" is relative ... it all depends on what you want - features? Speed? Stability? Fancy animations? etc etc.
I've gone through a few ROMs, and really like Dia Duit's ROM. Very stable, very fast, lots of memory. The only way to find out for sure is to try it for yourself.
Of course it's so!
thanks people tryed a few and useing bsb one, not sure witch revs tho. i install the hard spl befor it too.
meny thanks
Yes, always make sure you Hard-SPL before flashing any ROM, and I'd also strongly recommend to MTTY before any flash, and it'll be a much more pleasant experience flashing and trying different ROM's!
Good luck, enjoy!
I love c_shekhar 's ROM.
Energy ROM the best! =D
