Quick question about icons at the top of the screen - HTC Excalibur

I've noticed a lot of you have different icons at the top of the screen instead of the default icons.
I am currently on Kavana's 6.1 ROM and have the regular white, colorless icons indicating signal, battery, EDGE, etc.
I was just curious if these differences I have seen, are due to a different ROM or if you can actually edit these.
I have searched the forums, but apparently I have been searching for the wrong things because nothing is coming up.
Thanks so much for your help!

Those icons are from the Rinku Iconbar. NRG made a version that is dash/excalibur friendly. Just search for the nrg rinku iconbar cab.

Nrgz also included it on his mini weather cab as a option on the home screen layout as sliding panel weather color top bar.

Thank you both for the info!!!

How can I change the pinpad?

I have installed Shamanix`s WM6 Ultimate v2.1 ROM, and I really like it.
But, as in many recent WM6 ROMs, the Comm Manager and the PINpad are I think HTC Touch style. Anyway a style I do not like very much.
I like the PINpad that is for example in (some of?) Schap's 3.54 or 3.57 ROMs. I think it's Kaiser style. See the attached screendump.
So I'd like to change them. For the Comm Manager replacement I use Schaps_Kaiser_CommManager.CAB. Works great.
But how can I change the PINpad? As I read the phcanOverbmp.dll is responsible for that. So how can I obtain the phcanOverbmp.dll that I'd like? I haven't come across a CAB yet however that changes the PINpad.
Any input is appreciated.
here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322463
Thanks, but that's exactly the style I don't like. But it was my mistake, the pinpad/dialpad style I prefer isn't the Kaiser style, is the standard WM6 style with the rounded buttons. There are so many ROMs with various pinpad/dialpad/comm manager styles floating around that it's hard to keep track which is which. But thanks anyway for pointing me to that link.
Here you go.. it is from my Ultimate v2.0
Pinpad should be same as dialer now, but you will loose color warning in the battery icon!

Thanks for the cab!
I don't care about the colored battery icons, since I use Lordsmiff's Battery Level tool which basically does the same just a whole lot nicer IMHO. I have attached it in case you don't have it.
Cheers.
BTW I really like your ROMs!
I ran the Pinpad fix, and it just tweaked by battery indicator. My security screen looks like WM5 still, not WM6.
Also, are there any other WM6 dialers that aren't Kaiser-style? That is all I can find when I search.
Thanks.
Thanks, I will try it..
Anyone? I have searched, to no avail.

Change TF3D Tab color

I´ve modded my HD with nocurtains application and new Icons for the TF3D, however, the squares aroud the icons are still grey, is it possible to chande the color to match the theme?
If you mean like mine then I did it with the attached cab file (or at least I think it was that one that did it).
That´s it :d
How did you chenge the start icon? Have that CAB?
There's a thread about it here. I can't remember without looking but I seem to think the file also has various other icons altered. If you wanted a version with just the HTC logo altered I can do that for you? Or if you want the full coloured top bar I have a more recent version than in that thread that uses files just from the HD when possible.
I already have the colored topbar, but if you can post your version of the colored topbar with the icon changed it would be nice, can you also change the start to "iniciar" ?
Then can you post the cab for changing only the logo?
Sorry about the delay I got a bit sidetracked yesterday.
I've attached two cab files. One replaces the Start icon only (all the other icons are untouched). The other is one I created using just files from the Touch HD when possible (the other version knocking about seemed to use some differing files from the Diamond and also had two 80% battery indicators but no 79% which I've fixed). You need to install SDKCert.cab if you've not already got it. I've changed the word start to "iniciar" with a lowercase I. If you want it with a capital I let me know. I've been using the second one on my phone for a week or so but with Touch HD with no issues but other than me it's completely untested.
Also, the modified files are from a WWE ROM using English. I believe other locales use different files.
this thread will be moved to the theme , software and application section
It looks amazing
Please, send me the cab with Capital "I"
Can you explain me how do you make this cab files? To complicated for a noob?
Here's the same cab with full colour icons, HTC start icon and a capital I in Iniciar. You need to install SDKCert.cab if you've not already got it.
To create the top bar took a bit of figuring out at first but once I'd got my head around it it's fairly easy. All the guides are on the forums somewhere. I'll have a look to see if I can find the ones I used.
Once the files are modified creating the actual cab file to install them is very simple thanks to an excellent program called Quickcab that is also on the forums. You tell it which files you want copying to the phone and where you want them, create any registry keys that may need altering (this top bar has one key that changes the amount of battery statuses to 101). You then give it a description for Remove Programs and a file name and click create.
Hi friend! I liked your botton icons. Where can I pick this theme up? Does it include Stocks icon?
Thanks
It's from an excellent Diamond theme by DjOuBhAa called Simply Black. When the Touch HD first came out someone adapted the full theme but I only wanted the bottom icons so I took out the manilla files for the icons and made my own cab file. Unfortunately it doesn't include a Stocks tab icon (the original didn't either).
I've attached the cab I used as well as No Curtains to remove the top and bottom curtains and Pamas Transparant Slider to give a transparent slider and remove the background on the icons not currently highlighted.
It also looks very good on a lighter background
Hello, in the transparent slider i see an whit symbol only over the indizies-tab.
All others are ok. Can you help, that all tabs are blank, when sliding?
Thanks
Manfred
Thanks a lot for the icons and all the work you had.
There is only one other thing I would want it to change if possible, the battery icon, I saw one that looks better in my opinion, it´s somewhere around xda, but can´t find the link, please see post #2202 in the following link.

I've just double checked my Remove Programs and also my Cab folder and they're definitely the two I installed (apart from the actual icons) to get my slider as it is. The only thing I can guess at is if the order you install them in could make a difference? Maybe try them the other way around?

Time + Battery in Taskbar on 6.5 Roms?

Hello!
Is that possible to enable the clock and the battery icon in these Roms? In the same time, or battery on Manila and clock on others programs?
Also I'm looking for a great taskbar like Bryan's, I don't know if WM6.1 taskbar are working on 6.5.
Thanks.

how to enable clock and battery in title bar of wm6.1???
I have been searching a lot for a solution to enable BOTH the clock and the battery indicator in the title bar of stock ROM of my Sprint Touch Pro wm6.1, but I have had no success. Does anyone know of a good registry hack to do this?
Microsoft must be very stupid! Why do they make us choose between either have the clock or the battery? Don't they know that we need both? How about an easy way of letting the user choose which icons should be seen on the title bar?
I wish a nice programmer would come up a program to re-design the title bar and the comm manager so that clicking on the title bar would open up a nicer comm manager with big finger friendly toggle switches for all kinds of things or what ever the user want to be there. I would be glad to donate.

BattClock 1.2 is a good concept, but the clock and the batt are too small. Kind of strains my eyes. I wish this program was able to get an independent battery icon in the title bar instead of trying to fit the battery and clock in the same spot.
Hi
Alternately use pbar as task manager instead of HTC one, have batt clock, BT/ Wifi/ Phone on off options in taskbar with system info and few shortcuts of most opened programs. Been using it since WM 5 times. The best of lot
im just looking for it to work in 6.5 like it did in 6.1 battery when your in tf3d and the clock when you have any window open.

pbar does not work with TF3D on my Sprint Touch Pro. It freezes TP3D. So it is not an option.
A simple solution for having both clock and battery in title bar of wm6.1
New version of Ariel Battery v2.1 has the ability to be placed anywhere along the title bar of wm6. Unlike other battery applications, it is a simple application that uses very little CPU. It gives you a battery guage and it writes the percent remaining underneath the battery guage. You can adjust the colors of the battery too. It is just like the iPhone's battery icon, but you can customize this one's color and location along the title bar. Just click on the Ariel battery in the title bar of wm6, click tools, setup, and on top of menu find where it says, "Pos:" and use the left-right arrows to move the battery icon anywhere along the title bar you want. I wish Microsoft was smart enough to have included a little app like this in wm6. So thanks to the maker of Ariel Battery, my battery problem is now solved!!!
so could we have the clock only show in landscape with this ariel app?

What taskbar icons are you using? (WM6.5)

Hi! I'm trying to replace my taskbar icons and I can't find something nice. I hate icons that are TOO colorful or too small to see.
For example, I enjoyed these icons on WM6.1, even if the WiFi icon didn't work properly. But these don't work in WM6.5. I liked gtrab's X seris too, but I guess he discontinued them.
I would also like to have the SE logo as the start menu icon, and also the bouncing logo as a waiting cursor, with transparency (possible in WM6.5).
Of course, the icons have to be compatible with WM6.5 (21874) and Manila 2.1.1919.
Any suggestions?
Nobody wants to share their taskbar icons? I can't believe that all of you use WM6.5 with stock icons. Or WM6.1.
These are the ones I used to have on my phone until I decided to go back to the stock icons. I preferred using the 5b version for the numerical battery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520547
More or less the same as the ones u linked except these are for 6.5 . Can't remember if it had the animated SE logo or not tho. Probably not.
I use this one but no SE start logo or bouncing waiting cursor for you...
Thanks, Euqrad, I think that's exactly what I was searching for.
Mopal, I'll also try the dusk icons, they look nice and discreet.
Wow thanks Euqrad, this taskbar is perfect !
@darthmelk
Well you made me miss those taskbar icons so I decided to use them again and put together a cab for the taskbar iconset D v5b including the battery percentage fix from here which includes the SE wait animation from here. Works just fine on my X1i so I thought I'd pop it in here in case you wanted to give it a try.
Credits goes to the respective owners/creators of these icons and I apologize in advance if I shouldn't have done this.
That is perfect, it works excellent, exactly what I wanted!!! Thank you very much!!! My X1 looks nice again!

shellres.(The dpi of your device here).dll is responsible for the top bar.
to edit the icons you need to edit that one, it's responsible for the slider icons..
transparency is a function of the theme you use.
Have a look at HDwall for that part.

Also tried (almost) all cab's and "tricks" available.......unfortunately nothing worked.....I have QVGA.....
i read it has something to do with themes... now just know how themes work
If you are looking to make the taskbar and / or softkey bar of the homescreen in wm6.5 transparent then you are out of luck as I spent tons of time looking into this and it's not possible.
I did find one way that gives the look of transparency and it looks really cool., but it will require Photoshop / WM registry editor and some math. It's really down to replacing the .png images with sections cut out of your background image giving the impression the bars are not seperate from the background.
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo...v/thread/79a35cd3-91db-4941-b8a9-1106a9425615
One downside though: if you set it up in portrait and then rotate the screen it stretches the images... still looking for a way around that, but on a day to day basis I can live with that.
Note: QVGA top and bottom bars are 26px and VGA are 52 in WM6.5. I believe in WM6 it's 25px and 50px, but I cannot check that directly.
Try HERE, its as close as you can get to taskbar transparency.
For Icons, like it was said before, edit the .dll's.

The original question needs to be defined a little clearer, as this answer refers to the 'Windows Default' plugin on your Today Screen, while I referenced changing the top and bottom bars on the Today Screen itself. Hopefully one of these answers the original thread question.

But this only works if you use the 'Windows Default' today screen plugin as per both of the screenshots you attached. If you don't use that today screen plug in and use something like SPB Pocket Plus (screenshot I attached) you still have solid color top and bottom bars even if you loaded in a 'Windows Default' transparent top and bottom bar theme.
