Hey guys is some post i read about some files which could unlock my HTC Diamond (indian version) from the airtel lock and tried it.....it doesnt seem to catch the signal of any other sim card but there is no specific problem with airtel sim. So i was planning on using one of the unlock codes to try unlocking. therefore was just wondering weather any of u ppl could help me out by sending me the original spl file
these are the specs i use
Rom: 1.93.720.2 WWE
radio version : 1.00.25.07
Protocol version 52.29.25.12G
the worst part is that i dont know the version of my original spl.
and the other doubt i have is, if i restore my original spl thaks to you guys will it be locked by airtel???
if not how do i get it locked again???

being a newbe means:
1: how do I find out the version of ROM
2: How do I find the imie #? (do I need some special software to be able to see / extract it?)

Ive done the 1st steps after reading your instruction... I extracted the info and deleted the blanks... Im left with:

Does that mean I have to upgrade before I can unlock the sim?
...which sim should I use? (Dutch Telford or Israeli Cellcom) (I am in IL but not sure if Cellcom works with O2)

Well, unlocking SIM is not yet available for XDAIIi.
We are working on a program that can do that.
You can also go to www.imei-check.com to pay for unlocking.

I am new to this forum, I would like some help if at all possible with an xda 1. It is locked to 02 and needs something called a sid code?, I have read some posts on this forum and they do offer ways to unlock the code. But as I am very new to computers and also ppc's I am finding it hard to understand what I need to do, if anyone could send me simple to follow step by step instructions for a computer dummy that would be great. From the forums that I have read I am very worried that I will make my ppc un-useable, wipe it clean or make it die totally. Can anyone offer any help at all.

Should be aesy in your case....
1. Download http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/XDAunlock.exe
2. Copy file to your xda
3. Run the xdaunlock file on your xda.
This should be all to unlock it.....

T-Mobile Pocket PC 2003
I have a US T-Mobile PPC 2003 and I cant use my UK T-Mobile sim card in it. I tried usind an O2 card but it asked me for an SID code, so I tried to use the XDAUnlock program but it just wont work? Does anyone have any ideas? I also tried using the Bandswitch program but that does not work either?

I have run the Xda Developers XDA11UNLOCK tool v1.2 it reads after opening the comm port The phone seems unlocked already ,but when i put a simm card in not O2 T-mobil etc it states ,network is locked ask's for code which i input 2040248 push ,ok,It then states incorrect code you have tried 2147467258 times,please wait until time out.HELP PLEASE in simple language as I am not that computor literate THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! :roll:

I am doing it now and I am flashing my DASH with the Dopod ROM. I was holding off on flashing with the test rom before and I didn't do the SPL bootloader upgrade. I'll confirm if it works with BBConnect.
EDIT: Looks like it doesn't work with TMobile DASH...It returned invalid model ID error. I am going to try and upgrade the bootloader first and see.
It didn't work for me. It looks like my dash needs to be cid unlocked first. I tried to do the bootloader upgrade and it didn't work for me. My unit just sim unlocked. How do I go about unlocking the cid as well?

BUT just one question how come you have not been able to get your hands on the tmobile dash rom just asking do not take it the wrong way please?????
does this rom only supports USA or also other languages?

IMEI-CHECK will CID unlock it for $38 until someone writes a free app to do it.
38 bucks its too much money ! rather dante to spv developers and have them update the spv services to be capable to cid unlock the dash!
is there a change log for this ROM??
Hmmm.. I get an error [294] invalid Vendor Error. Weird Cuz i can Flash the HTC Excalibur test roms with no problem..
Here's the explanation of the error from the rom Readme file:
ERROR [242] : INVALID LANGUAGE
ERROR [244] : INVALID MODEL ID
ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
ERROR [296] : UPGRADE ONLY
One of these error messages will appear when you use the wrong RUU to do the upgrade. RUU will check if the Model ID and Language ID are compatible with the device. Make sure you use the appropriate RUU tool to upgrade.
So whats the difference in this rom and the test rom? How is it running any bugs? and the improvement

Does anyone know who wrote the program for the old XDAs and the Wizard? Perhaps they can update it relatively easily to work on the Excalibur. Is there any other way to fool the program into thinking this is the right device and force the upgrade????

I have an unlocked Dash and no go for me. Mine is CID unlocked via the $38 method as well as it is currently flashed with the previous excalibur rom.

I have an HTC Excalibur and i still can't flash this rom. I think the ROM is CID locked thats why..
I have an unocked DASH and was able to load up the dopod rom. first you have to load up the boot loader rom thats and the ftp here, then loadup the dopod rom. I've had my dash unlock since day one from imei-check.
it loaded up just fine. the big difference i've noticed is that now when I hold down a key the alternate keys charater appears like in the tmobile rom. The font is a little bit bigger, which don't mind at all. I'm using the dash on cungular currently. i've noticed my call clarity is a bit better and the recption is better.

I've been going through many topics recently on flashing the diamond.. but iam a lil bit lost since my diamond is not a standard version.
in India, HTC launched the diamond through Airtel (a leading cellular operator) which is only a triband version ! :huh:
only GSM/EDGE/GPRS NO UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA :angry:
i tried to download the official ROM update from htc.com , but on entering my serial number, it says the update does not support my device !
and there arent any update available on the Indian version of their site.

so my question is.. can i use those ROMs which are flying around ? or is it just the radio which i should be careful about ?
is the quadband support limited only through software (like the hardware already supports everything ? ) ?
ofcourse its a locked version, can i update the ROM and debrand it to the original version ? (unlocking it)

Install Hard SPL developers edition
Update Radio 1.00.25.05
Flash any ROM you want !

since iam new to this (iam not a total newbie, just new to the windows mobile flashing stuff, so hopefully i can grasp everything quickly) , can you point me in the right direction as to which version of Hard SPL i should use ? a search revealed lot of threads with lots of versions.. iam seriously lost !
and do you personally suggest any ROM ? (assuming you are also using the indian diamond)

Use Olipro' Unsigned Hard-SPL first. Then flash the Radio to 25.05 and further on, its your choice..

flashing wont unlock your Airtel Diamond, there are some ways by which you can do that.. search for diamond cid unlock.
i unlocked it by buying a code from htccode.com !
But would an unlocked phone get locked after using Hard SPL and updating the Radio and Rom?
