I got flash lite 3.1 working in touch HD opera 9.5 built in wvga browser (build 2682), almost. I used Dvha79 cab. The problem is that for example in youtube it loads the player, but the stream doesn't start. And in google video player says 'buffering...' forever.
I got youtube working fully after hard reset and installing flash lite, so that stream actually starts playing, but... after first soft reset the stream doesn't start playing.
If somebody would know how to fix this I'd appreciate very much. Maybe it is something with registry settings, which are overwrited in soft reset???
I installed adobe flash player 7 ppc.
At first youtube seemed to work in opera but it caused opera crashes so I disinstalled.
Please Help...
GSM Arena states Flash support in their review (http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_touch_hd-review-300.php). I didn't think it existed. Waiting for a working solution.

Don't believe it is the case that there is someone out there with a magic solution - there just doesn't seem to be a version of Flash that works well within the current suite of available browsers...well, with Opera at least.
Every version I have tried has been flaky, unrelaible and brings other issues - such as the SIP popping up all the time.
I seem to remember someone posting something recently that suggested the manufacturers were giving it some attention, but until then you'll just have to be patient.

I'm pretty sure I have tried this - if I remember rightly it doesn't help with YouTube or iPlayer

I suspect they would just say that it is a known issue and that it will be fixed in forthcoming releases.
I think we are all stuck with that until Adobe get their fingers out and release a product that properly integrates with PPCs and their browsers (well, Opera anyway)
idk why ppl are so concerned abut flash. First of all flash is flash lite and its a beta at that so its not ideal. neither is watching an embedded video in the browser. so i dont see much of a need for the big stink about having it at this point in time.
and i agree htctoucher, theres obviously a reason flash wasnt implemented any official Opera build yet on any device or their beta on their site- probably because Flash isnt ready, so i dont see why a half-baked beta flash lite build is so important to people.
Adobe is brining Flash 10 to mobiles shortly so im sure at some point Opera will officially support it
i think at this point having the best Opera build we can trumps flash by a mile. if people want a good way to do flash, skyfire is the best solution

Found this by coincidence over on Development & hacking - seems to sum up the current situation quite nicely.
We're going to have to wait for Flash 10...

since i have install flash lite, my opera can't show youtube windows video..
sigh.......... any idea when they're gonna launch flash 10 for ppc? i assume we have to wait half a year for that ****? By that time everyting is upgraded to flash 11 for web content and we still can't do anything with the flash for ppc...................SIGH!

Hi there, I am pretty new here and at the beginning I would like to thank people who are responsible for launching and developing this superb forum.
My problem is that since I bought my HTC touch HD device I tried to instal many different versions of flash plugin to my Opera 9.5 2682 version, including recently launched official flash lite 3.1 but any time I tried to connect to any flash conntent on any website I always got an information that "you don't have a proper versoin of flash player". I mean that it didn't seem to be working at all, it never seemed that it works but is unreliable or generate some other problems.
Does anyone can give me some tips what I do wrong, please?

2.1 seems to be the latest version. You're right, some flash-intensive sites do moan about the wrong version, I suspect this is more to do with it being 'Lite' and so missing some essential the site is looking for.

I would have to agree with the above statement; however if you are concerned about viewing websites with flash content then your best bet would be to sign up for Skyfire Beta (just google it and you will find the site) and wait until they send you an invite to download the browser. Other than that we're kinda stuck.

If you're looking to play flv's, you'll probably want coreplayer or tcpmp with the flash video plugin. I believe there's a flash video bundle linked from this forum by the user, Technology.
As for flash lite, it comes standard on ROMs from T-Mobile and I think Ricky's has it. Which ROM are you using?

I'm using htc french original ROM.
I cannot change because my keyboard layout is different.
I want to see flash content on IE, not videos.

since most flash content on the internet is written for flash 8 and above. the default flash lite 2.1 will not work on 99% of sites that use flash. Sorry
Opera Mobile supports flash. (opera Mobile 9.5 that is, there is no "official" release yet)

I don't think you can really do anything with Flash Lite 2.1 alone. Download the FlashVideoBundle. It's in one of the threads here. Just enter "FlashVideoBundle" in the search and see what comes up. Also, download the codecs that are in the thread as well.

You can just check on YouTube. Type in "T-Mobile Dash" in the search and there should be several videos on how to flash your Dash within the bunch.
Or check the upgrade guide in the wiki. There are several video links in it.

I am an x-Trinity user (2 years) and an owner of a Diamond for almost a week now. I have flashed my phones so many times that I can't even remember and I always had the same problem after every flash.
RE-INSTALL MY FAVORITES APPS IN THE PDA !!!!!
Does anybody of you cookers has any solution available on how to avoid this? What I mean is could I somehow get an image of my phone apps before flashing and just recover the apps after flashing the new rom?

I am sure that this problem has bothered you as well and maybe we could find a solution to overcome it!

Or Spb Backup but I am not talking about flashing the same ROM. Personally I try to have the latest ROM available and most of the times is not from the same cooker.

i'm a bit frustrated not just over the app installs but getting back the settings. Used to use SettingsSaviour (app made by someone here on xda) but it seems to not work with the vga display.. things are all messed up. It would auto-install cabs, and reload back most general settings, etc..
anyone got a solution for this? i was spoiled using it so never rounded up all the provisioning xml files and stuff that i need to get the device back to the way i want it..
there are sevral tools on the forum to automate the re-install proces!
I myself do it with mortscript, works perfect.

I answered some question on this in the SASHIMI thread:

The next version due out in a few days should work on the Diamond.
There will be two issues:
1) Formatting may be a bit off, as I layed everything out for VGA devices.
2) Auto Storage Card install won't work, since I designed that based on screen taps for a QVGA screen.
Once the new version is released, try it out and it should work with the above exceptions. If someone out there wants to work with me on getting some better parameters for those options to get it fully working on VGA devices then we can probably do that.
You can post in the SASHIMI thread with any more questions/comments.

I just tried flashing the CT beta 4 full version rom on my device.. The flash went perfectly fine.. But after that when the device is booting up for the first time.. It gets stuck at the cuztomization screen !!!.. Specifically while loading the oper application files.. So i removed the battery and restarted the device... It turns out that everythin is fine.. JUST THE OPERA AND TF3D applications are missing from the device !!!... Any body got any suggestions or ideas... to get it sorted out ?!?!... please help !!!

You have to wait. It DOES take some time, since it's installing Opera.

Dude.. I think the problem is with the opera cab file.. Am tryin to replace it with the another one from the ROM.. let me see how it goes !!

Yup Im plannin to do that itself.. I have gone thru the thread which is tutorial on cooking rom.. tryin to put it to use... wanted to ask you one thing.. I have another opera cab file which installs on my device properly.. Shall i replace this cab file with the one which is present in the OEM package of the rom !?!?.. I mean just a simple relacement would be enough or should i do somethin more after tat !?!?

I just changed the opera cab file from the ROM.. there seems to be a problem with the one which that comes with the ROM.. I replaced it with the one that works.. I'll be putting up the this new ROM a lil later.. Just download and Flash that one.. Am sure you wont have the same problem.. Cheers !!
Be sure to PM the author of the "problematic" ROM so he can fix the problem.
If it's the CT ROM, check if this problem happens with the newer version too.

Yes Sir !!.. Will do that... But i dont think evrybody is facin the issue.. Seems like only ppl usin the indian device have this problem.. But will let the authors know of it in any case..

Ok, I got the exact same problem with my Diamond. It freezes on the first boot up specifically on the Opera files. I have waited for about 1 hour and nothing...
Did anyone else try this modified ROM and was successfull at it? Dpakrawal is yours still working just fine? Any complaints about it?

Yes it is working absolutely fine.. Are you havin troubles with this ROM (the one i posted above) ??.. or are you having trouble with the other stock roms ?!?!

As you can imagine, its killing me having this amazing phone in my hands and not being able to use it! :-(
Your ROM is fine, I tested it yesterday and it works. It went past the Opera issue and the installation and customization were ok.
The problem is: It doesn´t work for me. I am in Brazil and I need a ROM that turns my phone into Quadband and lets it have the 850mHZ band too.
Anyone have any idea where I can find a ROM like that? I know that the original 1.93 HK ROM has Brazil on the list. After the freezing on Opera, I would reset the Phone and it would get to windows (no 3D Touch though). In there, I could go into connection options and see both the 850mHZ band and the settings for all the phone operators in Brazil: Claro, TIM, Oi, Vivo (Vivo is the one I use, and apparently the only one this phone has issues with on the original ROM).
Is it possible to re-cook the ROM you posted with the settings for Brazil?

Well honestly i really dont know how to do it.. So dont think that would be possible.. But dont worry.. I could probably fix the OPERA issue with some other 1.93 base rom which holds good for brazil.. As you've said, the HK ROM has the brazil settings.. I shall fix the issue in that and hopefully that solves your problem !!
Give me like a day or two.. shall post it up for you asap.. And as a special treat.. Shall add any apps you would like to come with the cooked ROM.. :-D..
(Will be adding the CALL HISTORY TAB.. Lemme me knw if there is anythin else you would like to be added.. if you could post the link to download those apps.. It would make it a lil easier for me..)

If you can fix the issue with the Customization on the HK ROM, my guess is it would work just fine.
As for the addons, I don´t know that many of them. Can you name a couple that you think might be cool to have and I´ll take a look into them and tell which ones I like? I hope its not too much trouble, if it is, don´t worry about it, I can get the programs later.
If you have any trouble getting any of them into the ROM, don't worry about it. I can always get them later on, download and install them into my Diamond right?

Change of events.
I just found out that my Diamond is the Indian Edge DIAM140 version.
I have no idea if that makes any difference regarding the ROM or not.
I hear that the DIAM140 version is 2G only. Doesn´t support 3G.
Do you think this might be why it hasn´t been working?

Dowmload and install opera mini should support most sites
there is no official flash support but you can install:
(*removed*: *sorry, there was a file named myflash31.cab floating around but it got removed due to legal reasons*)
to add flash-lite 3.1 support. also you have to know: until the adobe flash player 10.1 is released there is no way for any mobile phone to support newer websites made with flash because flash-lite has no support for sites published with actionscript3/flashplayer9 (which is available since a few years now).
at least you videoproblem should be solved because flash-lite3.1 comes with most the latest codecs.

Abobe is gonna release flash player (version 10.1) for windows mobile within some time now, so just wait a bit.

If you want to see flash content / pages as you would on your PC then the only current solution is installing the Skyfire browser. Its freeware and you can get it here www.skyfire.com. Its not the most straight forward of browsers to use but it will let you see all those sites that you couldnt before!!

yap, actually the video walkthrough on mobileburn makes quite a deal out of that in wm6.5 flash player (shown as youtube vid as example) is running in browser. with 6.5 it`s supported by inet explorer even.

I have allready the newest version of adobe flash player on my device,and till 2 month ago all websites will shown witTheh all flash inserts perfectly...also with all browsers...
Since 2 month,when flash player 11 comes for pc,on the most websites i got the message: you need the actualy flash plugin for you're browser......
The link to adobe is senseless,adobe definied my browsers as safari( urgh)......so,whats wrong?
I tried all browsers that i found in the market,by the way i found the maxthon browser,a very brilliant one,very fast and a perfect visualization of all websites on the galaxy...,
But even browser I tried it's all the same......no flash support.....
So need all the browser new plugins? Or is it a problem of miui?
