Hi,
I will get a new XDA terra (HTC P4350) in two weeks with WM6 installed. How is it possible to backup the rom ore to extract the rom for porting it to other devices? Or to give it to our ROM cookers? I searched the wiki and tried the OSimage but it even didn?t work on my wizard.
Any suggestion?

check this:

probably some things change, as instructions are for Hermes.... but the method with itsutils/pdocread should work.

Hi,
is there any way to get pure WM6 ROM, with no addons, no extroms - only WM6 OS and nothing else ?
And is it possible to extract (or get somewhere) separate .cab files for applications that come with various cooked ROMs ? (HTC touch app, Comm manager, ...)
thx a lot,
m.
When You upgrade to any WM6, the update procedure writes also the ext.rom, and later on the addons will be installed from the exrom. To avoid that, make a hardreset, and when the screen appears, that the addons would be installed within .. seconds, make a soft reset. With ExtRom_utility, You can make this rom visible, and You can backup the files located in the exrom to your PC.
I flashed a WM 6.5 rom to my MDA Compact III, but I want to go back to the original HTC WM 6.1 ROM that was on it.
I downloaded that, but I don't want all the stuff, just the OS.
Im going to flash it, but when do I exacly need to do the resets?
Or can I just delete the ExtROM, or whats in it?

I flashed it and I saw wat you meaned.

You can use HTCRIE to edit RUU_signed.nbh from WM6 ROM , then you can add or reduce the applications that you deem necessary Good Luck
Wow guys, this topic is like, 4 years old! I really appreciate the fact that you use the search function, but still, if a thread is older than a YEAR and there hasn;t been a post in it, create a new thread.
But if the thread has nothing to do with ROM development, as in this case, post the question in General.
I'm closing this.
Hi
I have a xda o2 zinc & have upgraded it to the new WM6 ... the problem that i am facing now is i dont know how to cooked or customize the rom. If i use winrar on the shipped WM6 rom exe, i only can see the files (see attachment img) & when i extracted it an error will come out "archive is corrupted" but actually u can use the rom to upgrade.
From what i read in this forum for the old o2 dev or the htc dev if u extract the shipped rom u could find a .nbk file.
As for mine i could not find any ... i tried using cooking kitchen tools but it could not work.
If somebody can help me on how to extract the rom ... i would be grateful ...
I will upload the link to the shipped rom soon
TQ

I've got an O2 Zinc that's stuck on the splash screen. I've got the WM6 rom upgrade but because Windows Mobile Device Center can't connect to the device when I plug in the USB cable I can't use the rom upgrade to flash the device. Does anyone know how to upgrade the rom from the mini SD card?
Please help by posting instructions on how to extract the rom, correct way to put it on the mini sd and flash it to the device. Any help would be really appreciated.
Hi all,
on my eten m810 I used for 6 months a cooked rom.
I've tried another rom but after that a problem rised...
I'm not able to use cooked roms because the phone hang due nand flash file corruption. Nand flash test reports only 2 bad block files
Why original rom work properly and cooked rom are not able to run anymore?
Any suggestion

Hi,
you may start by dumping the latest HTC original ROM for the Rhodium (2.07 EU and 2.10 ATT).
After that you may dump the latest HTC original ROM for the HD2 (3.14) and start playing...
There is plenty of tutorials on the Chef central forum
Do you have links?
