Restoring 6.1 on dash? - HTC Excalibur

Recently, my phone has been slowing down/ freezing/ or taking long to start up.
Rather then trying numerous times to try to fix it(I've tried several already) I've decided to restore( or "re-flash) with kavanas rom again.
Now... heres my question:
How would I go about doing this? Do I just connect my phone have run Kavanas installer again? Or is their a special "Bootway" (Like holding the two softkeys like in wm6)
Please get back to me,
Ricky

Yes sir just reflash the same way you flashed the first time.

Which version are you using? the remake or the original one by NRG?

I'm using the remake, they seemed to have perfected it as far as having everything I like included in rom. Don't know if nrg has but they got rid of all the bugs in new version!

Oh yeah
With some 6.1 roms you have to flash a official rom first then reflash the 6.1 rom the fix issues with freezing up and a losing everything because of resetting. I had this same issue a few months ago.

I would do it just in case. You never really know until you start having problems. So to keep my issues down I do it every time.

HUMOR: You know when you are getting old

Some of you might find this amusing.
You know you are getting old when:
You download a new rom, go to install it and get a error on RUU Wrapper.exe. You think it maybe an error in the download so you delete the download and re-download again. Only to get the same error. You do it for the 3rd time and it still errors.
Thats when you remember you rebuilt your laptop a week ago and forgot to re-install dotnetfx 2.0. DOH!!!!

Nah - you're getting old when the first thing you do is copy and rename the RUU_Signed.nbh to the SD Card and hard reset....
You are getting old when you think this device you are downloading ROM for will still work after this long. I want to change but I am out of funds.

No, no...
You are getting old, when before re-built your laptop you make a list of software to be re-installed...
If you didn't that - you are still young and optimistic!

No. You know you're getting old when PV DVH releases a new ROM and you think - No I won't bother flashing this week. v21 still works fine.
(If that happens again, I think I'll book in at the nursing home)
You know you are getting old when..
.. you had a great reply in mind for this and you can't remember what it was!
You are getting old when you collect all all of these new roms put out and to flash one, forget where you stored them.
You know your getting old when
you get home from work, get the kids to bed, and sit down to start flashing , testing and cooking and start to fall asleep before 10pm!
You know your getting old when you start worrying your going to brick your phone rather than just flashing away like crazy
you're getting an old chef when you release rom everyday, build them, uploading , and forget to try them

Hey chap
You will have to back everything up that ya wanna keep as your gonna loose them when ya flash. If ya dont like what you have flashed too then yeah just flash back to whatever ROM you wanna go back too, but again, back up what ya wanna keep. Hope that helps

Exacto, but wouldn't worry to much about going back, i'm sure that once you have had a taste of what WM6.1 has to offer, WM6 will become a distant memory, maybe even a bad dream.

I would recommend follow the tutorial on how to flash your phone, and this will eliminate a lot of problems that other people have had. The link could be found below in my signature or on the excalibur page because it is stickied there...

I recommend ROM WM6.1 Kavana 080408

very stable, It rocks!!

I'm ready...

Ok. I think I am ready to try to play with this phone of mine.... finally.
I have found the instructions for unlocking my phone, getting the new rom in it, and I think I am going to give it a try. Before I do though I would like to have the original rom for it. This phone is my primary contact number for both my personal life as well as work. I need a contingency plan.
Can I backup my phone's rom before I start? Can I download the original rom somewhere? I am running on Bell Mobility and I don't want to have to make a HELP post after the fact.
Thanks in advance!

As you cant backup your phones ROM itself, find PIM or Sprite backup and you can install either of those to backup your mail, contacts, texts, etc
As for the Bell Stock ROM, you can download right from the source HTC themselves here http://www.htc.com/ca/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=69&act=sd&cat=all
Just make sure when and if you flash your ROM you flash your Radio version to a needed level first ex. if your radio is currently 1.2.3 and the Custom ROM you want to flash to is a Bell ROM needing Radio 2.3.4 or higher then make sure you unlock, flash your radio, then flash your ROM
Hope that helps and remember flashing your phone is like meth can be addictive and will take over what little life you have LOL

did you ask the same question twice... come on man this aint right... do your homework and you wont have to ask these types of questions. Prior to flashing a theme that you may or may not like you should learn how to revert back to your original setup... Like I told you in the other thread its time for some reading up on how everything works in here before you go tinkering around with stuff again.
