Gps Cycle Computer - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hello Artemis/Orbit/P3300 dudes
Does anyone have GpsCycleComputer QVGA V2.39 working on their device.
I have the QVGA version 2.39 which has a new DLL for directly addressing the GPS port which can be selected instead of the winmo driver.
The winmo version works fine on the Orbit but the direct access driver doesn't and hangs the app needing a soft reset to clear it from memory.
I'm just wondering if anyone else can duplicate the bug so that I can report to the developer to assist him?
EDIT: KobiP has reported the same bug on another Artemis, use the WinMo driver for now I think.
Thanks
Kim

Direct Access to the internal GPS ??

Hello there,
Did anybody find out how to access the internal GPS of the HTC P3300 without using the GPSID (GPS Intermediate Driver)?
Although the internal GPS works fine for me with many programs (TomTom, Pathaway, Fugawi, VisualGPSce, etc.) I did not find a way to program the internal GPS using any of the common GPS tools (such as SirfTech, Aplsirf, CeMonitor, GPSTweak, etc.). In particular I'm very interested in enabling/disabling the SN and the SBAS Mode.
I'm guessing that programming the internal GPS via the GPSID is not possible (or not supported) while it might be possible by accessing the hardware GPS directly. However, I don't know how to do so...
During my investigations I found out the following details:
Based on the MS GPSID Reference the HTC P3300 must have a plug'n'play based internal GPS receiver, as there's no valid registry key found in the corresponding HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/GPS Intermediate Drivers section.
Looking into the HKLM/Drivers/Active section for a suitable pnp GPS driver I only found COM3 (SerialGPS.dll) which for me seems to be the corresponding hardware driver for the internal GPS. However, accessing COM3 always fails for me with any program.
Does anybody know how to get COM3 (SerialGPS) to work?
Or does anybody know how the GPSID talks to the internal GPS and why I can't do it directly (or how I can do it directly too)?
Any help and discussion is higly appreciated.
Thanks, GeenZ.
Have you tired to delete the gps driver in registry, and after a softreset tried to access direct on com 3 ?

I already have tried disabling the GPSID. This can be done either by the GPS control panel or directly in the registry by setting the key HLKM/System/CurrentControlSet/GPS Intermediate Driver/IsEnabled to "0".
The effect was that the virtual GPS COM port from the GPSID (COM4) was no longer available, but COM 3 still did not work.
Does deleting and softreseting make a difference to disabling?
How could I "completey delete" the GPSID in the registry?
Thanks, GeenZ
I'm interested in this too since I've found reading from COM4 using CF 2 is really buggy and hangs the device. I wanted to see if talking directly to the GPS instead of the intermediate driver would speed things up a bit.
Hi,
As I reported in this Thread I did not find any solution to get direct access to the GPS port.

it would also probably solve the problem of M650 users stucked with a different firmware version of this internal GPS which doesn't work under wm6
If you would take a look at my following thread
it explains the problem.
Alot of people think they cant connect to the GPS device, but actually it is connection but just nog receiving data the right way.

Problems with Activesync under WXP with WM6

Hi,
I have a strange problem. I have a Hermes running WM6 (org T-Mob). I can't install software or explore the device from my PC at work. It's possible to sync files, email and almost everything else (exception: I have Pylon Pro running to sync with Lotus notes Shows it's synced but no data is transfered) but other than that I can't contact the device. Explorer shows no contents and when the software window opens all I get is the frame with no content. I had WM5 running und upgraded in the hope of solving this problem but no go. Activesync works fine with my old device (MDA II) running WM2k3SE but not with the hermes. It also works fine at home running the same configuration. Here are the stats:
Hermes with original German T-Mobile WM6 Rom
Activesync 4.5
Windows XP Professional
Has anyone had a similar problem? Any suggestions? Our IS&T department can't find a solution.
Cheers

If it's working on your home machine it's unlikely to make a difference, but I find this - http://toril.ru/pda/akrndisadd.exe - very helpful when activesync stops working, and it's non-destructive (so it's worth trying).

Hi,
Problem is now solved. I did 2 things:
1. Made it Super CID
2. Ran the small prog from the post above.
I'm not sure which solved it but one of the 2 did.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers

Hi,
I take back what I said in my last post. The problem is solved but it has nothing to do with the 2 things I mentioned above.
T-Mobile sets "Settings>Connection>USB to PC>Extended Network Functions Activated" to on by default. Unchecking this box is what solves the problem.
It seems that with this active, Activesync tries to look on the LAN for certain components, which it cannot find. This causes the communication between Win. Explorer and the MDA to not work. It also stops you from opening the "Software" funktion in Activesync (You only get a frame with no contents and the hourglass).
I hope this helps someone. It certainly caused me allot of headaches.
Cheers

how to get Stowaway BT driver work with WM6

I'm using HTC Trinity WM6 and wish to use my old Stowaway universal Bluetooth keyboard working? i cannot find driver for WM6. anyone have it?
please help!! i love my BT keyboard and wish to get it work again.
thanks
Attached is the driver I use for my Kaiser WM6/6.1, dunno if it'll work on your Trinity or not.
If not here is the drivers page: http://corporate.igo.com/support/Drivers.asp. Just choose your manufacturer and model.
Note that WM6 comes with basic keyboard drivers -- you only need to install a driver if you want to use special functionality such as customized keys. I use the built-in drivers on my Kaiser with a BT keyboard (not the Stowaway, but supposedly compatible).
htc tytn II and sierra bt keyboard
everybody,
trying to connect / use my new sierra bt keyboard with my htc tytn II and nothing works,.... if i go through the htc the keyboard is detected, asks for a security code, does not recognise the one i put in, (although the instructions say pick one of your choice), and does not connect.
if i go through the keyboard CAB installed on the htc, still cannot connect,.... i am not exactly a 'newbie' but if someone could give a step by step direction on how to get this to work, i would be very grateful,....
thanks,
ek
sorry everyone, i used elyspar's CAB file on my htc tytn II,.... thanks for your help,....ek
found a vid on youtube very helpful,.... it's actually quite simple to connect, so maybe i need to retract, i am a newbie,....
here's the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8HAge9yJu4
no functionality though, just basic input, good for emails / word, but limited,....
guess i have to install the driver on my kaiser somehow,....
Hi everybody, can you tell me which driver i have to install for my Niki? It's not on the list...
Thank you very much.

I could use an Apple Alu BT KB with HTC TyTN (not II). Paired. Without any special driver. Remember to press Enter on the KB after the code. Now I have a new Touch HD and I get it paired but nothing happens clicking on the keyboard...
I will start installing drivers which I find here suggested and will report.
iGo stowaway BT keyboard and WM6
Hello all,
I originally posted this message in a Blackstone forum, but as this problem probably relates to WM6 in general I thought I would post here
I have an igo bluetooth keyboard and I am using Blackstone phone (running the usual WM6.1 proffessional. I installed the igo software and everything worked fine except that phone crashed a lot. Not so useful. I then uninstalled the software and paired the keyboard using the onboard Bluetooth keyboard drivers. All worked well for one run through and I was able to type away. However I have not got the thing to work again since, even after re-pairing the devices. Does anyone haev any thoughts about what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks.
Tom
Hello Guys, partly not to the topic hear....
I have an igo stowaway keyboard and a travel mouse and i have been using them with my fusi n560 (wm 6.0). Now I bought a Nokia 5800 mobile phone with symbian s60v3 touch. The keyboard came with multiple driver including both wm and symbian versions, but the mause came only with wm driver. Now the question is: do you happen to know how could I use my mouse with my symbian device? Sorry for asking symbian related question here....
Special Characters and the Sierra Stowaway
I have previously used the Sierra Bluetooth Keyboard and it worked flawlessly on my T-Mobile Wing running WM5... I recently tried to port the same driver suggested by ek... (PPC5) to the T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2, WM6.1.
It works on all keys, including the function keys, but cannot produce the specialty characters on the 5th, number-row, i.e., [email protected]#$%^&*()
Everything else seems to work fine... anybody come across a fix for this?
Thanks!
JSS
I've been interested in acquiring an Apple Wireless Keyboard for my PDA too.
But from skimming other people's post, looking at what was successful on the internet (e.g. the guy on youtube with the Mio who paired with the Apple BT Keyboard), it seems that all the success stories come from people running WM5/6
Anything 6.1 and above seems to not work in general, although you have some success stories like from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486595
Has anyone successfully paired with 6.1-6.5?

I have similar problems with my Samsung Omnia, WM6.1 and the German Stowaway Keyboard (QWERTZ) with the driver 4.51.
Just the keys !$& are not working.
Could there be a workaround like using ASCI numbers?
I tried ALT+33 to get a "!" but had no success.
Does anybody else has some suggestions?
Thanks,
Sigi

I solved my problem:
I installed the English driver 4.52
(I have an English ROM and use a German Keyboard)
The driver was changed from version Ger4.51 to Eng4.52 on several places and I think they solved some Bugs.
I resetted my Omnia after the installation.
Because the problem still existed, I resetted the Omnia once again, while the Stowaway keyboard was selected in the keyboard menu.
After that reset all the characters worked like the should.
Hope that helps.

ToggleBT not working on TP2

I've installed Action Screen Program thati i've installed with no problem on my diamond. Now on my tp2 this program seems not working, i've an error message (error number 1359) and bluetooth won't start.
Anyone has this problem???
nobody use this program?
Don't know if it helps but I had the exact same problem when I installed tomtom7. I had to do a hard reset to solve the problem. Must be a conflict issue with some programs
I have the same problem with PhoneWeaver and Mobile Shell 3.0
SBSH Software support are looking into the issue I can only think that the Bluetooth switching on the TP2 conflicts with third party software. If I get a resolution I will let you know.
Had a similar problem. Apparently the TP2 uses the Broadcom / widcomm bluetooth stack, not the standard microsoft one. This causes the ToggleBT not to work.
Changed the registry key (for the action screen) to point to BTManager instead. Under :
HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\App_8
Change Key "Path = \Windows\BTManager.exe"
Which will pop up the Bluetooth manager from the settings menu.

Vista Sideshow, Problems!

Ok, first off, i am hoping someone somewhere has experience of using the sideshow for windows mobile on their touch pro II.
I am experiencing a lot of problems, mostly i cant get it working at all. The problems start when i pair the device over bluetooth!
When i pair vista installs all the drivers it needs but cant find the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" drivers, and then when i explore the services vista finds for my touch pro 2 the sideshow box is there but un-checked, and then i check it and apply, and it has the same problem with not being able to find a peripheral device driver.
I then found the universal Bluetooth dotNet Sideshow drivers, and they installed successfully (i think). But now no device appears in the sideshow control panel in vista, even though in device manager is shows "HTC Touch Pro2 T7373" under the Windows Sideshow category.
Has anyone got this working? or has anyone encountered these problems? I would really like to see how sideshow is on my phone. Any help would be gratefully appreciated!
Ok, so i have solved it, even though over 45 of you lot looked and had no help, thanks for looking though. The solution was that the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" that remains unfound needs the driver updating in the way outlined here:
http://www.computers.nepalesemap.com/index.php?topic=3.0
Then the sideshow application on the phone finds the vista machine. Then the wanted gadgets can be activated on the pc.
My hope of using this as an "inteligent" remote control and more is and was valid, apart from the limit of support and development for the mobile sideshow package. It works, but it crashes every time a large list is presented. I have no doubt this is because it is a preview release, but the date of the 0.01 version is dating back all the way too the 20th January 2009; and there seems to have been no updates to the mobile client since.
Does anyone in this vast comunity use sidebar and not have this crashing problem? and also is there anyone here with any news on the development of this product as i am still keen and interested!
