Problem with CRC r13.0 ROM - no voice transmission! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hi all - from some reason, after a non consistent time, any phone calls I make do not transfer my voice - it'd dial the number, the recipient will answer but hears nothing. A reboot may not fix it - but a few will eventually. Calls I am receiving are perfectly fine.
Any ideas?

hi, post this on CRC's thread or do a search there (no need to create another thread)

dodgy microphone crc 13 rom fix
Hey i had the same problem and found it hard to find a fix, so i installed resco audio recorder and set it to record phone calls, now the microphone kicks in every time! its a dodgy work round but it works well if your desperate. tho its worth opening and closing the audio recorder occasionally to reclaim program memory, and deleting the files through the program only sends them to the recycle bin if u use resco explorer, so delete through that. sorry if this is the wrong spot to reply, but i've been at work all night and want to get this info out! good luck and thanks to all

Uninstall SRS WOW HD
I had this problem when I first used CRC's ROM. I don't think it's the CRC's issue to fix, per se, but I determined it was the SRS WOW HD app under System in his Device Update that was the offender. Once I removed that, my phone's mike started working again. Never investigated the app to see if anyone else reported a problem. I just figured I didn't need it so badly as to lose my ability to talk on the phone (and let people know I was actually able to hear them).

Yes, most of the time when people have issues with there sound, its SRS WOW or its a hardware issue.

Please post in the approrpiate thread.

Trouble with Route 66

Hi all,
I just received my HTC s620 last week. I tried is to install Route 66 that came with it.
The application quits after selecting the appropriate map. I found out that Route 66 does work when I hard-reset the phone and install it. Then it works.
But when I turn on my GPS-receiver (Fortuna Clip-On) and then start the application it hangs. The only thing I can do is turn the phone off and on.
I already tried the latest patch/update, but nothing works. I've contacted Route 66 but I haven't heard anything et.
Can anyone help?
Thanks a lot!

i am using route66 with no problems. maybe try re-installing and contacting your supplier. have u tried overclocikng your dash . it may halp.

How do I overclock my device? And can overclocking destroy the device?
hi, as far as i know it is not 'dangerous' if you are over clocking within certin levels. 230 i guess is ok and it really makes a difference.
go to this website http://surrealnetworks.com/mpx/DashApps.htm
and download PowerControl+OMAP. there are instructions there
and report back !

I know I'm bringing up an old thread, but I'm having the same issue with my route 66 and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. After a few days of using it, it will just begin to quit as soon as it opens. I can't uninstall and reinstall it, because it will do the same thing. The ONLY thing that seems to work is a hard reset, which is not a viable solution. At first I thought it may be a memory issue but it doesn't launch with 21-22megs free even after a soft reset.
And yes I am running OMAP+ Power Control now just to see if that would help but no luck. It must be writing to some file or the registry some info that is making it quit each time.
Funkydude are you still in WM5 ?
nope. I'm using WM6.
edit: I think an update to 7.0.3489 may have fixed the problem.
All, I have route 66 working ok with WM6 on my Dash/S620 but initially I had all sorts of problems with the application crashing. Route 66 support will not help as the application is not designed for WM6 (so they told me recently) so it's down to us to sort out issues and find workarounds.
On another forum, I found a thread that suggested that having some/lots of SMS text messages impacted the application. I thought it was rubbish too but after I deleted my SMS messages and the messages in deleted items folder, the app worked ok. I could not believe it but it really has helped.
To use route 66 I make sure I have closed all other apps down using Oxios (or task manager if you don't want to use Oxios) and also delete all SMS. After that, it works fine.
It seems unreal I know but it really did help me out!
Cheers
Jonathan

Hi all!!
I had trouble with Route66: it didn't start!
But after deleting all my SMS it work!! It's strange, but true!!
I had similar problems. I just uninstalled it and went with the MUCH cheaper and much more stable smart2go. I highly recommend this gps application.

FM-radio software mutes when switching channels.

I have a problem: When switching channels the sound of my fm-radio mutes. The sound comes back when I make us of one of the buttons.
This is really anoying if you are a channelskipper like me...
Am I the only one with this problem?
Does anybody knows what causes it and how to solve it?
Many thanks in advance..
yo dwaaz,
i have the same problem with my MDA Compact III, but it doesnt bother me s much. i just noticed its there and took it for granted. would love to solve it though.
Anyone knows whats up?

I do have a life also..
Tnx for your quick respons,
I know it's not the most important thing in my life, but it's really not userfriendly, don't you agree...
I use my radio reguraly, and I know it's something with software...
A hard reset will fix it, but it returns within a few days.
At one point I noticed the occuring of this problem. I was listening to my radio when I received an call.
Without answering the call I pulled out the headset to answer it with the phone to my ears. When I finished the call the problem with the fm-radio returned.
I'm using this software:
1. Spb Phonesuite
2. Spb Mobile Shell
3. Spb Pocket Plus
4. Smartmovie
5. Betaplayer
6. Sprite Backup
This is my standard configuration.
Any similarities with your software profile?
Another reply
Noticed that if you use the predefined stations(and the sound works) you can choose other stations without any problems.
When the sound is muted(due to the problem) this will not work. Also channelsearch(not preset autosearch) doesn't work. It won't find the stations
I saw WM6 is released. Maybe the problem will be fixed with this update.
Or does anybody has a fix? Am I (with a few other users) the only one with this problem?
Maybe this will work?
I saw an fm-radio app for an Eten device.

Will this one work? It uses tmc
Hello dwaaz,
have you downloaded the software? The Link to ms mobiles works but when I push the download link i only get error!

Problem with browser
This link should work.
I tried it again today.

hello dwaaz,
i only get "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found."
Please download and mail it to me.
Great thanks
Your email is not public, please let me know so I can send it to you.
Hello dwaaz,
i sended an private message to you.
Have you / or anybody else testet the software on an xda orbit? Does it work?

FM radio problem partially solved?
I discovered something.
The problems with the radio only occurs when you have disabled the sound for "Events(warnings, system)" in settings/personal/ sound en messages.
In my case, when I enable these sounds (anoying screen taps etc.) the problem is gone.
It looks like the system needs a sound at the end to be able to switch the channels.
Kinda weird isn't it?
Regards,
Dwaaz
PS. I know it's not caused by any third party software, because there isn't any on it.
this message is for nothing. I had problems with my connection en post the same message twice.
Has anyone been able to extract the radio software?

Callers can't hear me

So recently I've been having this weird issue where callers call and I'll answer but they can't hear me. It happens when I call out too. I'm not using any headsets or anything, but it seemed like it started happening when I started turning on bluetooth and leaving it on. But if I have my headset on, that part works fine, they can hear me. I had a custom rom that I cooked myself that seemed to work fine until then.
So I figure I'd ditch my own rom thinking maybe I screwed something up while cooking it, so now I'm using PDAVIET DV's most recent rom. I tested it all yesterday and it seemed fine, but then that night I got a few calls that couldn't hear me again.
This morning things were fine again, after I shut it off then back on. I made a lot of calls out and in from another cell phone, and it worked fine. Then while I was waiting for a phone interview, it didn't work again. Is anyone else having this issue? Or does anyone know why it's happening?
I'm starting to think may it's a sleep issue, because the only thing my phone did in the time between my this morning's testing and the phone interview, was it sat idle in standby mode.
Any Ideas?
Which radio are you using and who is your carrier?
What OS are you using? Does a soft reset fix it?

My own custom WM6.1 19209 rom, but also happens on DVH 19701 also. Soft reset doesnt seem to help, but power off, and back on does help until phone goes back to standby.

I just realized I have a sound issue also. I almost always use my bluetooth headset, but yesterday I tried just talking on the phone and the other person could not hear me. I reset the phone and it worked again, but only for a while. I noticed though that when it stops sending my voice to the other person, I can still hear myself in my earpiece. I even loaded Voice Recorder after it quit sending my voice over the phone and it recorded my voice just fine, so I know this is not a hardware issue. Has anyone else experienced this?
EDIT - I did a soft reset, and it didn't fix the problem. I disabled 3G, soft reset, and it worked again for now. Could this be radio related?
EDIT 2 - Disabling 3G wasn't the answer. I did that again and it didn't work this time. Might try a different ROM and see if the issue persists.

This sound issue appeared to me after I installed google maps or new dialpad. I can call to people but after I while talking sound is fading and in the end others can not hear me but I can hear them. Soft reset helps for a while but this issue appears again in next call after few minutes.

Here's what I have installed:
Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.11
Total Commander

Touchpal

Garmin Mobile XT

HTC Album
HTC ConnectionSetup
HTC Voice Recorder (installed to test that mic was still working)
Listpro
Kyphur Comm Button Toggle Fix
Live Search
Mortscript
Newsgator Go
Resco Radio
Schaps Advanced Config
SKTools
SPB Suite (Diary, Mobile Shell, Phone Suite, Wallet, Weather) All newest versions
Sprite Backup
Vito FunContact
Windows Live 10.6.0034.0800
I removed Google Maps and SRS WOW after reading others posting in the thread that caused them problems. I have not been able to test if it is fixed yet.

Ok just consolidating our issue into my original thread from last week.
I've resorted to not installing all my usual software, and only have this installed so far:
Schap's 2G Dialer
Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool
6 Button Comm Manager
HTC Home Plugin
ELF Calculator skin
Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.11
HTC Connection Setup
no2chem nueLED
And so far (for two days) I haven't had any issues... here's the software I have yet to install that I usually install:
ATIFix
Cyberon VoiceCommander or MS Voice Command (thought it was one of these but it turned out not)
GoogleMaps
MS Office 2007
WindowsLive10.6.0034.0800
SRS_WOWHD_bt_fixed
TCMPv0.81
FlashVideoBundle
I was thinking maybe it was because of bluetooth being on or something too.
SRS WowHD do that issue. Download another version of that program and phone will be all right.
Mine has gone all day and it seems to be working. I think it's the SRS_WOWHD_bt_fixed cab like wikiri mentioned.
I have flashed official AT&T-ROM, then hardSPLv7, then PDAViet 19900-rom and after that radio rom 1.47.30.10. Mic works sometimes but most of the time it does not. I do not have any issues with roms no hard-reset or anything else wierd but this mic thing.
My PDA is just repaired and switchboard has been replaced and some other components. They said everything should be working and it is tested.
I have installed only ConnectionSettings.cab and latest live-messenger. Mic does not work on phone calls or when recording something.
So could this still be hardware issue?

My phone is doing the same thing.
How do you fix the SRS_WOWHD_bt_fixed cab?
Is it a patch or a setting you can manually change in the Phone.

Bluetooth Devices Lost

All,
I've just upgraded from WM5 to WM6 with HTC Home RevROM, which is excellent, however, I have this strange issue.
First, I paired my laptop through Internet Sharing over a Bluetooth PAN - works perfectly.
Second, I paired my Jabra BT2020 earpiece.
As soon as the Jabra was paired, the list of devices under Settings->Bluetooth->Devices was empty. Not even the words "Add new device" is present........
I have checked, and I can still continue to use my laptop through Internet Sharing, and I can also use my Jabra earpiece to take phone calls.
Switching the phone off/on and Soft Resets do not solve this problem. Only a hard reset will solve it - but then of course I have to re-enter everything - which I have done, only to have the problem re-occur, hence it is repeatable.
Has anyone else seen this issue and could help me with a solution. I have searched the forum (and Google) to no avail.
Many thanks,
BrianP6

Hey man, Unfortunatly this is a bug with my current kitchen, I believe he is using parts of it for making roms. I'm working to fix it soon in my kitchens.
Peace,
Josh
Thanks for the quick reply Josh,
Do you have any ideas at the moment as to the cause? Is it the number of connections, type of connections....... so that I can avoid the bug cropping up.
Also is there a workaround that you're aware of....
oh, and nice work chef
Cheers,
Bri.

This bug appears only when 2 or more devices get paired.
I've been trying everything, even abusalza himself suggested some module replacement. i'm working on replacing drivers and certain folders in sys in my kitchen but still nothing yet... so far not yet, but it's fixable, i just gotta figure it out.
Thanks Josh,
I guess you'd know this anyway, but for completeness and for the benefit of the whole forum.........
Even though the paired devices are no longer shown in the Bluetooth Devices window, and you can no-longer use your HTC to pair more devices, then so long as you carefully initiate the pairing from the other device, it will be recognised, PINs will be requested and devices configured appropriately. I have just done:
Audi A4 in car kit
Laptop via Internet sharing
Jabra earpiece
None appear on the Devices window, but all (so far) appear to work perfectly.
Cheers,
Brian.
I have had a similar nagging problem with my Motorola S9 and Hermes 100/Cingular 8525. After a new flash, I can pair the headset and the phone relatively easily. During first pairing, I am *not* prompted for the headset's PIN. Over time, switching between phone and music functions becomes more unreliable. Icons disappear while the headset is in use. Discontinuing a call with the headset results in audio resuming through the external speaker instead of the headset, etc.
Eventually, out of the blue, the headset will fail to pair; and I will receive a prompt to enter the PIN number for the headset. I enter the PIN and the phone refuses to accept that it's the correct PIN. From that point on, I'm screwed until I reflash the phone. It never works properly anymore.
This has happened across multiple ROMS, including some of Josh's that I've tried. It happened again the day before yesterday with one of TAI_Sw's ROMS I'm currently using. In this case the profile in Bluetooth settings appeared to be corrupted. The profile no longer read "Motorola S9". Instead it showed a series of block characters (like unsupported fonts). I was able to delete the profile, and, after multiple resets (hard and soft) the phone finally redetected the headset and we went through the configuration wizard again. It's been mostly working well since then.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Yep, I have experienced everything you mentioned at one time or another, even the square characters showing up in the device list.
I have gone all the way back to test Faria R32 ROM. It's amongst the best I've found for A2DP with the S9's along with some of PDACorners early ROM's. The drawback are that it doesn't have the 1% battery increase .dll cooked in and also still exhibits the "numbers for character during a call" bug.
It does have nearly 31 MB of memory free after fresh install though. (using 4MB pagepool - default is 6MB)

It frustrated me enough that I started building my own rom!
I released one version here that I have been running for quite some time with no issues in the bluetooth at all.
I need to tweak it a bit more to make it "polished" but it is very useable and stable. I just wanted to run it for a while to see how it is going to act over a longer duration before I continue to fool with it, and I have been rather busy here lately.
Well, if you have a magic potion, please share with the community. And, by the way, this is the only device I pair to my Hermes; so this may be different from the problem Josh and others have described.

i just installed your new v15 color(thanks very much for that release it looks great) and i definitely want to pair 2 devices with the phone. this has worked for me in whichever random wm6 rom i found on the web last year and i have been trying to find the right rom for me this week so my question: is this a random bug, is there a trick to doing it right or am i just plain sol?
Hmmm - doesn't happen on my ROMs...
The suspect things I'd be looking at in SYS are:
Bluetooth
Bth_A2DP
Bth_HID
Try replacing those folders with known good ones and see if the problem still happens...

No Magic potion! lol
I basically did what CRCinAU described. (His rom doesn't have the issue, and feels a bit faster than mine. But, I was looking to create "My perfect rom").
But I also replaced files in the redist folder with "bt" in their name, with files from a known working rom (anryl's 20755). Like I said I wanted to run the rom for a while, now I just need to go back and tweak and clean up some things in the rom before I make another release.

it is a really odd issue and seems to only affect the hermes... Here is the deal, Some chefs when porting sys grab the cplmain.dll to get the build number and keep some other items in their kitchen sys for stability purposes... I have noticed in my experience when porting, if the cplmain.dll does not match some other components with the same build number it will cause this issue. usually resist, shell, os, folders have been containing these sensitive items. so in short, if the issue is occuring cplmain.dll in redist folder does not match other components in your sys causign the conflict.
edit, and oh. i've tried replacing all bluetooth which had no effect.
So to fix this, the chef needs to report sys correctly and recook the rom.

Need help with audio_policy.conf

Hey guys!
I installed Cyanogenmod just a few days ago for the first time.
I was (and still am) very happy with the replacement, but I ran into one issue related to sound. Before I installed cyanogen (on the default ROM) I had an issue with the Skype app: my voice sounded like a chipmunk. I thought it was a Skype problem. After installing this problem was FIXED! I was really happy. But then somebody called me on the ordinary phone and THEIR voice was distorted terribly and I was unable to hold conversation. I googled feverishly and found an "audio policy.zip" in a forum post related to a similar problem. It said I was to flash that file. And I did. Voila, the issue was indeed fixed! BUT, now Skype doesn't get audio input from me at all, and Viber also has a similar problem. So essentially I fixed one problem but got another instead. My guess is that the audio policy file wasn't perfectly configured for my specific phone, and...
that's what I need help with. Either to get a pre-configured file for my specific phone, or for somebody to help me configure it manually. This is what my current file looks like: pastebin.com*ZaTXd1UZ (replace * with / ). Please help.
