Using another Home Screens will solve your problem. Check this out: http://www.kooldezine.com/Q.htm
You can download bunch of cool Screens from that website.
Yes and how to apply all that homescreens also to the phone application? If I do that, the phone app is still green which is not very nice.

Well, you can change the settings in "Settings>Home Screen>Color scheme".
Then the color scheme won't follow your recent-applied Home Screen again.
Thank you all!!!
panagiog did you make it to apply a homescreen also to the phone application?
Guys please look into that attachements, pls start with:
006 - default HTC homescreen
000 - alternative "Cash" homescreen
001 - phone application after applied "Cash" homescreen: Still a green element from the default HTC homescreen there
003 - calling: Horrible
How please to change this??

Not at all,but i found from gfwyzxj new home screens.
By the way can someone tell me how can i put the allDay event plugin at the xml default green home screen(htc s620)?
I would highly recommend looking at a homescreen you have on your device. Once you find it, copy it to your PC and copy out JUST that section to the homescreen you plan on having as your default.
By going in and finding, copy, and pasting, you will get a basic understanding of how XML works. After that, you can keep an eye on other homescreens and "borrow" things you like from it.
We could do it for you VERY easily, but it would be beneficial and almost as easy for you.
Good luck!

Please see second post for some new icons and a fix for the selected item bezel problem that occurred with my original set of icons.
Thanks to all for your support and positive comments. I am really surprised at how popular this little thread has become. It seems a lot of people are interested in modding their today HomePlugin with new clock fonts, icons, etc. and there are some talented folks contributing some very nice graphics on this thread. Thanks for your efforts!
The new Kaiser Home Plugin is superior to the one we've been using til now, and it is available in color here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316107. The actual number digits are still white in the Kaiser version though, but the same "colorized" digits I posted below will work fine with it.
Hello all,
I really liked the HTC Home Plugin, but its stark white clock digits didn't go well (I thought) with Custel's Black theme that I have installed. So I made some files with different colored digits to replace the stock ones. I just replaced the ones in the Windows folder of my device with the ones in the archives below. Choose the color you prefer, extract the files and make sure that you don't have the plugin selected in your Today Items before you try to replace the stock files. You can either use Explore from ActiveStink or copy them onto your memory card and then transfer to your Windows folder. I also included the original digits in case you want to go back to basic white. Enjoy!
P.S. I'm waiting for permission from Schaps to post an additional archive with the improved Vista-like icons he uses in his ROM. The original icons provided by HTC are way too plain.
Here's an example of the EBlue
Note: I attached the transparent and "spotlight" versions for the button backgrounds. Use the Transparent Bezel to fix the left and right bezel problem as reported by Binyo later in this thread. The Spotlight with icons version is based on JUVS color icons for the Kaiser version. It gives a nice "stage light" appearance to the selected icon and a darkened shadowy icon for the unselected items. You can get the complete set of icons with the spotlight or just the spotlight by itself if you already have icons you prefer (I changed JUVS house icon for example, to one I liked better. You might have done the same.). These work with the original and Kaiser version of the plugin.
Thanks to Schaps for giving me permission to distribute his very nice icons!
HTCHIcons.zip - Here is a package of Schaps' Vista-look icons with some other files that give more transparency to the HTC Home Plugin. These are to be extracted and copied to your device's Windows folder to replace the stock ones. Screenshot is no longer attached, sorry.
TranspSpotlight Clor Icons.zip - These are the new "stagelight' version. See screenshot below.
Here's what it looks like on my today screen:
Looks good, thank you.
Very nice thanks for sharing.
Missing file
Good job! Thank you.
The only problem is when I tried to go back to the original color I find that the HH_HOME_seperator.png file is missing from the HTCHbkup folder.
Can you please post that file?
Thank you for doing that
Also, is there any way to make green digits? (like the metrix)
Thanks again.
Thank you Gmgonzal
Thank you for bringing a little colour to an otherwise drab today screen.
And ofcourse thanks to Schapp's for sharing his great work.

Sorry, I am assuming you already have Schaps' ROM, it is already enhanced. I made these for folks who wanted to use the HTC Home plugin with Schaps' icons no matter what ROM they used. True your clock is white, but other than changing the files at the source and recreating the ROM I don't think it can be done.
For Schaps and anyone else who is a big fan of purple, here's a set that goes well with Schaps' today image background...

Try using something besides the regular file explorer - like Total Commander or Resco Explorer - and changing the read only flag. It actually works - usually. Give it a shot. Good luck.

If you mean the background, I picked it up at this forum. Unfortunately the copy I have is only 320x240 and cuts off when in landscape mode. If I find a 320x320 version I'll send it to you.
Found one!
For anyone who liked the background *this is really getting off topic here, moderators feel free to move this thread if possible* I found one at www.wallpaper9.com that I cropped to 320x320 and modified by tinting it darker blue. I like the darker blue, but I'm including the original color too. In case anyone doesn't know this little trick: copy it to your device, then use the Pictures and Videos app to find it. Tap and hold for the context menu and select to set as today... This way you can set the transparency to 0, otherwise it gets washed out. You could also set the transparency to anything else you like of course.

Good stuff. Tx.
I know how to change the call progress background... but when someone calls me... a different image appears. I can't seem to find this image on the phone. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Phone Calls and SMS
* Change the Dial and In-Call Screen Background
1. Copy \Windows\BackgroundImage_Land.bmp and \Windows\_BackgroundImage_Land.bmp to your PC or a backup folder in case you want to restore these in the future.
2. Make images with dimensions of 320 x 186 with the same names as the files above above.
3. Copy the new images back to the \Windows\ folder and overwrite the old files.

In the latest HTC ROM, those files do not exist so HTC must have given them different names.
exactly... i've copied every image file out of the windows directory and don't find the call background image.
anyone else?
In case you haven't found it yet, in the latest HTC ROM you need to replace:
\windows\HTC_CallProgressBkg_320x186.bmp
Cheers
i did everything as said...made a new pic...named it the same thing...tried to save over or or copy back over the old file and its saying i dont have access or the ability to change that file.
am i doing something wrong? im running wm6 and on a t-mobile locked dash.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks!
that's not the image... that image is for when you're actually on a call.
the image that displays when a call is coming in but you haven't yet answered the phone is different. i've checked every image in the windows directory and it isn't there so it must live someplace else.

you have to save the file into a temp dir on the phone and then use a program like total commander to copy it to the windows directory. it'll overwrite then.

I thought this would be an interesting customization as well maybe some of the more technically inclined members here could give us some insight.
I have already posted on this site how to change your background. Just use the search button at the top of your page on the right side.
Any other questions, just pm me. It's easier than going through this forum's threads, plus it keep these threads not so clogged with repeated questions.
Have Fun.
How can i change the color of in-call screen??
Also, is it possible to change the call-in font color? For whatever reason, it's black and all my other fonts are white, makes it hard to read. I'd like to keep the background as is. But I guess I could change the background image to something lighter so the black font will show up, but I searched around and I don't know how to do that either in Ricky's.
I too have this issue with the black font on the incoming call screen very hard to read. All my other font colors are white except the inoming call screnn. I posted in the alphanuma thread asking how to change it but have not gotten an answer. Hopefully someone will help us resolve this soon.
This color is located in your xml. It is the homehighlitetext and hometext colors
If you want to change these it will apply throughout your entire phone. It will do what you are talking about, but beware these will affect the entire phone, and this IS the only way. Worked with it long enough to know.

This can't be the case because I look at the theme xml file and the homehighlitetext and hometext are set to #ffffff and all the text on my phone is white except the incoming call text is black and no where in the xml file do I see font set to #000000 for black Im using alphanuma wonder if it has something to do with that but its odd because when I make an outgoing phone call the text is white just not the incoming very strange.
i have the same problem. is there an answer?
Hey guys. Whipped this thing up to help people choose the panels that can be displayed on the homescreen. So far it only contains 7 entries, the ones I found on my phone. You can turn the panels off or on, by selecting a panel and typing it "off" or "on" respectively. After you make the changes, you need to reboot to see the changes. The last option will make that easier for you. Choose "Reboot", type "yes" and it will reboot for you. Let me know if there's any other panel names you would like me to add, or if you find any bugs. Thanks!
Look good but isn't this just like the chome settings (neoOrder) that is in Rockys ROM where you can enable and disable the windows you want and change which position they are in on the screen?

To Clyde: It's cool. Contrary to popular belief, there are still some users that are on Kavana's ROMs. lol I have no problem with rickwyatt's, but I found them to have too many apps and tweaks that I found unnecessary for me personally.
To Org (and anyone who'll listen): This is great idea for those who aren't quite comfortable with editing their .xml files to rearrange the slider panels (like me)! I've noticed that many users have a panel called "My Programs". What do I need to do to create this? I think it's a really useful tool to "slide" straight through the programs you use on a regular basis. I've already read tons of posts on this, but it's not registering. Thanks in advance, guys.
It's difficult to sit here and do a step by step, but I'll point you in the right direction and answer your questions later.
1) Download a registry editor or use the one on the phone.
2) First off, keep in mind there's TWO places in the registry where you need to make changes. One is HKLM\Security\Chome\DefaultSettings\CWelcomeCenter and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Chome\CWelcomeCenter
3) Look for a key that says "Disabled" and make sure it doesn't say "1". Or use my utility to turn the welcome center on.
4) When you're in the registry you'll find Page1, Page2, Page3 etc etc in both places. Each Page represents ONE slide. For each page you can makes changes such as... ACTIONURL is the path to the program you want to execute when hitting the middle button. for example "\program files\NRG\Chomeweathersettings\weather.exe" will run the weather program
SK2URL is the same, but for the right softkey. SK2Text is a label for that softkey. The "pictures" key points to the .png file you will be using as an icon for your program. Right now it probably says "2500". Change it to "\windows\weather.png" and you'll get the weather icon in its place, for example. The Title text is self descriptive... put in whatever you want the title of the slide to be.
I hope you can figure it out from here

I'm understanding how to read the code. Thanks for breaking it down. I'm just having trouble finding the .pngs for my icons and also (noob moment) finding the target file for certain applications. It's keeping me from being able to input the file address for ACTIONURL and SK2URL.
Not Hard to Find
Just think of your program, "Where is it stored?"
That should be your only question when finding your target file. That simple, you should look in your Program Files directory on your phone or you storage card, that will then tell you where the link is.
2ndly, you can find other programs in your startup folder. They will be listed in link format, but this is fine, the link can be treated basically as the exact file itself (as far as your phone is concerned).
Long story short, use these locations for your entries for ACTIONURL and SK2URL. Have a blast!

Anyways, you can easily mod any pictures, turn them into anything you want, .png,.tga,.gif,etc. Look around.

Hello everyone, i look for wvga honeycomb cab for my hd, i saw somewhere in the forum a cab who replace hexagon in 6.5 start menu like in the old build, but it only work in qvga devices. So i'm a jalous of that, what about a wvga version ? is there also a cab for us or what ? Thank
sorry if this thread already exist, but i search and i find nothing... i would like to know if it possible to make a cab to
i believe this is what u need
Unfortunately this only gives you the honeycomb shaped selector (instead of the glowing ball); it does not give you the nice honeycomb background.
Not so busy on the honeycomb actually but jsut think that if they want to remove it they should then line up the icons in rows rather than staggered for no reason...or give back the background so you can see the structure

Do you want the honeycomb background with 3 or 4 columns?
3 columns can have large or small icons. 4 columns has to be small icons. I have a few files you can try.
Cool, 3 columns with large icons would be wicked for me!! Glad to 'beta' test!

I was looking for the honeycomb menu too and found only the one where's teh highlight.
Would be really nice if somebody would post a cab
Sorry I didnt get back last night but attached is the files. Ive tried to get the icons as central as possible.
Change the file extension of the startmenu_gridscene file to .cpr.
Use Total Commander to move the 3 files to the windows directory and soft reset. You should have 3 columns with large icons. Try a fairly light wallpaper and youll see the effects better.
Let me know how you get on. Ill see if I can make a CAB if people are happy.
Thanks, will be glad to try, but the zip shows up either as empty when I try to extract or corrupt if I try to view it...

Change the file extension of the startmenu_gridscene file to .cpr.

thanks for the files... but it seems that the archive is broken or something....cant open it...it says its corrupt
You cant open the file with winzip or any other zip prog. Its not a zip file. I changed the file extension so I could upload it for you . Thats why I advised you to change it. Put simply -
Download the file, save it where you know it is (DONT TRY AND OPEN IT)
Navigate to the file, right click and click on rename. Change ONLY the zip to cpr and press enter.
Then put all three files (without changing the sizes) into the windows directory and soft reset. Thats it.
AHhhh...thought the file to rename was IN the zip. Trying again!

works great!
Ok, this is perfect, many thanks. Nice big icons (why have smaller when you don't get more, can see if you choose 4 columns however) and the layout now makes *sense* -- silly to have it staggered with no structure to tell you why. Slightest hint of lag on the first use after a reset but really not noticible, and then doesn't happen again...works perfect. Thanks again...
sorry for being stupid... but I dont have these 3 files...I only have the renamed one and nothing happens when I copy it to windows folder...?
The two images "thumbnails" are the other two files! Took me a minute too cause they said thumbnails instead of attached image...
There you go

I tried to upload them as files but when I pressed preview, it put them up as images. But at least youve got it working.
hi, how would I go about getting this working for landscape?

At the moment I have only altered the config file for portrait but if I have time I will look at the landscape config file. I might have a look to see if its possible to get 4 columns with large icons in landscape.
