HELP - UNLOCKING T-mobile MDA to work for Cingular

Hi, i read through the forum, and i have no clue what you guys are talking aobut, allthese nuber, im a NOOB, and i admit, but i was hoping someone can guide me in a direction, I have a T-Mobile MDA, with ofcourse T-Mobile Service, and i want to use this phone for Cingular Service, can anyone help me unlock my phone for Cingular, thanx a lot!!!
T-Mobile MDA well they have a few so you need to work out what device and rom you have. Then you need to read wiki about that device. Then check the forum based on what you have read and what you would like to do.

Lets pretend I am rookie

'cause I am. I just bought a used HCT 8125 from Ebay. Guy said it was unlocked............. it is not. I put my sim in I get the network locked screen asking for a code. I am VERY new to this and need a (as simple as possible) instuctions on how to do this myself. I could send it back and he would do it but I am with the military overseas and shipping takes FOREVER. I do not have active sync software and version 4.5 is not compatible with Vista. How do I unlock this phone???? HELP
rom version 6.0.0.2 wwe
rom date 9/26/07
radio version 02.25.11
protocal version 4.1.13.12
C'mon......... all you experts and NO ONE can help me????
Hi,
If you have an 8125 it will be locked to Cingular.
You have an HTC Wizard and as such your question would be best asked in the appropriate forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=248
You can find plenty of information there on how to remove the SIM lock (it's not hard) and you will get a much better response from Wizard users.

There are 2 versions here:
## Removed URL since they were for the Titan not Diamond, My bad ##
I hope you didn't try flashing those ROMs - they are for the Titan!
Assuming you posted in the Diamnond section because you have a Diamond, then you will need a DIAMOND (Victor) ROM.
A little bit of knowledge is dangerous, no?
Got one, thanks guys!
Sprint rep here
Hey man, you can take that phone into a Sprint store that has technicians and have them re-image the phone...i had to do it to mine. They will have no problem doin that for you.

I don't think you guys (Sprint/Verizon/CDMA) have any ROMs available, let alone a HardSPL. The current ROMs in the ROM Development area are for GSM phones only. Don't try to flash a GSM ROM onto your CDMA phone. Otherwise, you could turn your phone into a simple paperweight!
oooooh! I had a post saying i was having trouble flashing the HardSPL, noone told me i couldnt do it on a sprint phone. I guess ill just wait.

HTC Touch PRO2 CDMA USCC, please help

I've got this touch pro2 cdma on US Cellular.
please advice if I can sim unlock this and if I could do some custom ROMs.
I've tried to read some stuff but it's hard to figure out all this.
There was a version of USCC to unlock some stuff but it said (not recommended)
pls advice
thank you
A SIM unlock will not allow you to flash a custom ROM. You need a HardSPL unlock to do that.

i was looking into hardspl and when it came to USCC it said (not recommended) ... that's why i got confused.
would you like to be a little bit more explicit pls?
i appreciate your reply
i would really appreciate some help
Don't know anything about USCC, but HardSPL will void your warranty and done wrong can brick your phone.

Miami: I believe USCC is an abbreviation for US Cellular. I'm not sure what the other "C" stands for, though.
gotttijr: If I understand you correctly, you're saying that you asked US Cellular about putting a Hard SPL on your device. If that's the case, then OF COURSE they would tell you not to do it! Changing the ROM of your device VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY. You are doing this at your own risk. You don't have to tell them about doing it, though. There are tools to get it back to its stock conditions if you ever have to send it in for a warranty repair/exchange.
Hard SPL DOES NOT unlock your device to another service. If you want to do that, then ask your carrier for the unlock code. Tell them you need the code to be able to use it in another country, and they will normally give it to you with no problem. Hard SPL allows you to flash custom ROMs and other radios.
This is as far as I take you, grasshopper. Search and read. The answers will come to you.

Are you saying you haven't seen the sub-forum clearly labeled Touch Pro2 CDMA and Touch Pro2, Tilt2 Android Developement?
Both of your questions are seriously the very first thread of each of them.

Android isn't stable on any phone not designed for it. Most of the people running it on a dual-boot setup have to live without some functionality and/or other quirks.

I got a USCC TP2 unlocked working with T-Mobile. Just follow all of the instructions given by the letter. Go over here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/cdma-tp2-upgrades/
Read the sticky threads. After unlocking and everything you can choose a new ROM that runs better than stock. USCC TP2 stick with CDMA ROMs and radios. Never install a GSM ROM or Radio.
Thanks again guys. So what rom would u recommend? There was the thread with radio unloc where it says for us celular not recommended. Can anyone advice on that one?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App

If I had a nickel for every time a new member asked "What ROM should I choose?" I'd be a very wealthy man.
Either flash a ROM or don't. Either way, only YOU can recommend a ROM for yourself. There are several for you to try. Just keep flashing ROMs until you find one you like.
No one can give you advice on an unlock thread without seeing it. Post a link to whatever you're talking about or move on.
