sddialer.exe, which has been tested and works on the apache/6700 has one small issue that makes it useless for me and others...using the popular program "mortsaver," it cannot run!
this is because when minimized, sddialer closes. if it could just be programmed to still work and allow voice command while minimized, it would be perfect!
mortsaver, if you are not familiar with it, keeps your phone locked when it turns on...and then turns it back off. mine is set to turn back off in 10 seconds. the problem is that it uses a screensaver to show you some info and turn off the touchscreen...so when i hit the button on my headset, it launches sddialer.exe, and immediately mortsaver pops up (effectively minimizing sddialer) and sddialer closes down...so you don't have time to execute a voice command.
any help with this issue or a fix in sddialer would be so great as there are currently no other good options for me!
thanks,
-jeff
I've had this problem for a while, but I'm pretty much fed up with it to this point that I've decided to ask about it. I don't know if this is restricted to the TP2, but I'd imagine it's probably a Windows 6 problem more than the device.
The issue is that when I play any full screen application (one that covers the top and bottom menu bars), typically games, sometimes it loses it's status as the active window but still remains in front of everything else. This means that where ever I pres on the screen, it will select whatever is behind the game and therefore gives me no ability to select the game itself.
This is most prominent with the keyboard button in the bottom bar. It's not uncommon for me to have to press something on the edge of the screen in one of these applications only to have the keyboard pop up and garble all of the graphics. Once this occurs, there is no real easy way to go back. I have to open up task manager and either close the full screen app or activate it again. Another time this becomes a big issue is if I'm on the program tab of TF3D (which frequently you are after you've opened an app) and basically anywhere I press just starts opening applications left and right.
Does anyone know why this occurs and is there a fix for it?
Hey guys,
I'm running a Lumia 800 with the 8107 OS so I thought the disappearing Keyboard issue should have been fixed. However sometimes, when I write a mail or message it happens that the Keyboard still vanishes. I was not able to reproduce the Problem in parts. Could you please try the following and tell me what happens:
1. Go to the Home Screen
2. Open either an app from the home Screen or from the programs list
3. As soon as the Programm Shows the loading Screen hit the search button
4. Tap on the search box and wait
5. The Keyboard should now dissapear after a few seconds
This works best with Applications that take some time to load, like Facebook or Board Express. Instead of opening the Search App you can go into every app that opens the keyboard. I also guess that Network related callbacks are responsible for the dissapearing keyboard. You can try the following as well:
1. Open the Facebook App
2. Wait for it to load and Display the recent items
3. Hit "..." and "Refresh"
4. Tap the Search Button and open the Keyboard
5. After a few seconds the Keyboard disappears.
It would be great if some of you guys could try to reproduce this problem.
Regards
Chris

The keyboard isn't disappearing in that case, the app is loading, and you're intentionally trying to type before it's fully loaded to get this behavior. The disappearing keyboard issue would occur MID SENTENCE while typing something as simple as a text after the message had already loaded. What you're doing is intentional and happens everywhere.

Well, this are only two Scenarios where the Keyboard dissapears. However sometimes while composing a longer message for instance, it goes away. And I don't think this behavior is intended. Imagine you're in an area with bad coverage and hit refresh. This refresh can take around 20 or 30 seconds so you decide to write a text. Halfway in the text, the Keyboard will disappear while you are writing. At least that occurs on my device.

I'm not sure what to tell you then. I know that the disappearing keyboard was solved for me. It's pretty much a given that on any device, because this used to happen to me on Android and WinMo, that refreshing incoming data will cause your typing indicator to disappear once the data has completely loaded. You can try this on Internet Explorer on your computer. It might be a hassle, but that occured before Mango's keyboard issue. As far as typing a long message, I've typed 10 page texts and haven't had the keyboard disappear once. When I had the disappearing keyboard, it would disappear every 3-4 words, sometimes quicker, and was quite annoying.
i think its not an internet related problem, it is caused by ram issues...if i play with angry birds with dehydration hack, then i switch to an incoming message and quickly reply, the keyboard disappears after 2 sec...lg o7, sorry for bad english..
Updated to 8107 last week and haven't seen the disappearing keyboard since. I call fail on this thread.
Haven't had any issues with disappearing keyboard since 8107, although it was frequent prior.
for some reason, it took two updates for my keyboard to stay. I did an update last week...and for whatever reason, i had another update last night, which appeared to be the same one I did earlier that week...don't know why.
but since, i've had no keyboard issues.
I second the one who said this thread is fail.
The method you gave is a way to force the page to refresh, so as soon as the page (or in this case the app or Bing search) loads with the keyboard, the background agents from the opened app causes the page you are in to refresh as well, thus the keyboard disappears.
The incident before, is when you are already typing a message for 10 seconds or so, then the keyboard will suddenly disappear for no apparent reason. In some occasions, it disappears again when you type on the message box as if the keyboard is doing a "double take" disappearing action = annoying.
That's exactly what I said. He's purposely trying to type while data/agents/pieces of the app are still loading or refreshing. Obviously the keyboard is going to disappear once its done. Go to a website on the phone, and start typing in a text box before it fully loads. Once it fully loads, it'll disappear. This is common knowledge and happens on every platform I've ever used...
Thanks for pointing up that this is intended. I thought it would be odd if an app in the Background could hide the Keyboard in a completely diffrent active app. But it seems as this behaviour is a Feature and not a bug.
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday my rad new Xtrons Android headunit was working almost* fine and today, after following conventional wisdom and letting my 15yo nephew pimp it, it's in all sorts of...well fckd.
Keen on some help from the collective wisdom. Before anyone helpfully suggests a factory reset... well, that's been done, sooo many times. When your nephew CHANGES the factory settings, it becomes a cycle of hell.
Unit is an Xtrons PB86MTVP. 8" HD, Android 6.0' Octa-Core 64bit 32GB.
Current main problem is that the touch screen inputs are reverse and diagonally opposed. What the hell do I mean by that? If I want to type on the qwerty keyboard or simply tap an icon, I have to use my cunning and hit an area or button diagonal and opposite for it to work. If I can get past this issue then maybe I can move to the next one which is that the unit doesnt power on/off with the ignition.
To be clear, things tried (multiple times in some cases) include
Reset via reset button
reset via software app section
undoing car battery
pulling unit back out and disconnecting
turning on and off again
swearing
So, who can help? got a silver bullet?
TIA
Joe
You could go to settings start right down the line set your home screen back and you should have a setting there for different keyboards also that should get yoy back to normal

thanks for the reply djkeylenux. I've got the right keyboard though, thats not the problem. the problem is the touch input on the screen, no matter which screen I'm on.
Well beside calibrate witch I thing you tried you could also go to developer options take a kook at running process see if there's something running causing the problem,
I think you lost the MCU settings.
Go to settings and then into Factory Settings menu. Password is 126.
Then in keys tab re-calibrate the screen. During calibration you will first see a "+1" in one of the corners. Tap it with your finger. Then in opposite corner "+2" will appear. Tap it too. Then accept and apply ypir settings and the unit will reboot. The touchscreen will work correctly then
In the same screen you can also re-configure the touch buttons and physical buttons of yoir device.
It looks like someone potentially did an MCU upgrade/flash. If there was no backup of the settings then you lost it all. Which also means you might have lost bluetooth connectivity as the bt module type on first page of factory setting might be wrong too. Also canbus and other things might be affected. I recpmmend to check out the discussion threads on MTCD devices here. Someone with the same unit might tell you the right settings.
Hint: If you have trouble tapping the icons with non-calibrated screen. Try connecting a standard USB mouse to any of the USB ports.
I just found out today that whenever I try to get into the Connected devices menu in settings, it will either:
A. Get into the menu right away but then freeze for about 5-10 seconds before I can click on anything else within that menu (Bluetooth, Cast, etc)
Or
B. It will get "stuck" at the main settings menu for a few seconds then a black screen shows up for several seconds and then it will finally enter the actual Connected devices menu
No other menu I go into lags or hangs up like this menu whatsoever. I have shared a link of a video as to what I mean. Also, anything I do within that menu will take several seconds to respond or activate/deactivate. It's not necessarily a deal breaker or anything as I only use Bluetooth anyways (which I activate from the quick settings menu anyways). But it's annoying nonetheless. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not sure if I may have disabled something important via Titanium that causes this or maybe something happened when I OTA'd to the 5 January 2018 security update.

I'm not seeing that at all. I do have the January update. What I did find crazy is how good that battery life is. Over 18 hours off the charger and close to 4 hours screen on time and still at 83%?
