Probleme knowed
The problem is related to TomTom software. There are two methods to solve this problem.
(1) You can choose to install TomTom 6.1 which has solved the sound problem if TomTom V6.1 is available for end user.
(2) Find “BtCoreIf.dll”in Windows directory on your phone and rename it to "BtCoreIf.old”. Then, reset the device to solve the sound problem.
Solution 2 worked for me
I've the same sound problem but I can't find that file...
can anyone help me?
Tbh the easiest solution is just to install a diferent version of TomTom, i had that issue long long ago switched GPS and never went back...
Sound will come back with a hard reset (Default settings in Settings - System)

Hello there,
I have recently installed TomTom 3.01 with GPS update 3.07 and now I cannot connect my BT headset Bluetrek G2 anymore. Before the TomTom install everything worked fine.
I can still pair the headset using the setup wizard, but when it comes to finally connect it I get the error message "Failed to connect".
After hard reset and restore of system before TomTom install all works fine again. Seems to me TomTom somehow blocks the headset-profile.
I spent days reading through all the posts here, but couldn't find any answers.
If there's anyone out there who can help, any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx

You could try installing bttools.
Thanx for replying. I have installed bttools from this link http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html , but it doesn't seem to do anything. It just appears on the today screen, but none of the buttons has any function. My guess is it only works when the MS-Bluetooth stack is installed (like on the Himalaya), which by default isn't installed on the Blue-Angle. But thanks for trying...
Cheers
Hi all,
I have a strange problem: bluetooth manager works fine after a soft reset. I can my PPC the whole day and it will always start normally (read: the screen that shows BT shortcuts shows up). The problem occurs when I turn off the phone over night (flight mode). The next day I can't get the BT manager to show the shortcuts screen - BT can be switched on and off but neither the BT manager or the BT settings screen will show up (there is no error message!!!). After I do a soft reset everything starts working...
Has anyone come across this kind of a problem in the past? I couldn't find anything using search on this forum...
My device info is (DutchRetail ROM):
ROM: 1.40.00 WWE
Radio: 1.13.00
Ext ROM: 1.40.556 WWE
I have tried uninstalling almost all extra software that I have installed after a hard reset but the issue is still here.
Thanks for all suggestions on what else I can try.
Hi Poga,
Yep, I get exactly the same problem :-(

Do either of you have Goodlink software on your device?
same problem no goodlink
Same problem but no goodlink software
I also get another funny problem where sometimes I go to connect to my bluetooth access point from my phone and it just has the little pie icon saying it's doing something, then it stops and it hasn't connected (the connection icon stays the same) and I can't make any sort of connection. It then does this everytime I try to connect.
I don't know how i fix it, but I combination of many soft resets various flight mode turn ons and fiddling it eventually works. It's very frustrating and it's happened on every software version. Right now i"m running 2.04.00. I have a CDMA from Telecom NZ running radio HA_01_151 right now (but I've tried other radios).
Somebody else had this problem I noticed but nobody replied to his posts.
I've got the same problem I hope someday that someone makes a fix for it. I run the XDA IIs BlueAngel 1.40.00 Asian O2 ROM WWE. =/.
Same problem here - only solution I had was to go into settings/memory and then stop all programs running - then the bluetooth manager appears without the need for a softboot..
Pain in the arse. :!:

I do and I have the same problem. I've been suspecting that it may have something to do with that because when I reset and I can start the manager just fine before I start Goodlink, but after I start goodlink it's a pain. Once, I tried to start BT manager then it didnt... i forgot all about it then suddenly some 11 hours later it just popped up by itself. Goodlink had been running continuously.
Any ideas???
I sometimes have the same effect.
What I usually do to resolve it (without soft reset):
- I installed PocketNav (kills programs which run in the background)
- I select 'Close all but Ative' in PocketNav
Then the Bluetooth Manager works again.
Hope it helps.

This is due to memory limitation in WM2003SE. When it finds that the memory is not sufficient it wont run Bluetooth Manager or Wifi. I had this problem a lot until i have shifted to WM5 which has more than 100 mb when the device starts. I guess that is why M$ has built WM5 for that reason and also for persisten storage of course.
The "memory limitation" is indirectly the problem. The Goodlink, which is more than three times the memory hog as any other 3rd party app out there, is the direct problem. I could write a college discertation on the amount of bugs in this awful software. And yes, it is good for push email...but at the expense of everything else that is good about these multimedia devices we own. The typical "close-when-you-tap-the-X" software utilities don't shut down Goodlink on my device even though they successfully shut down every other software I own (over 40 titles). So I have to use MemMaid to kill its process. But Goodlink will restore itself in a matter of minutes as it ventures out to the server looking to synch mail, calendar, contacts. If there was ever a reason to bring back public hangings, it would be for the Goodlink windows OS development team.
I don't really see any issues with Goodlink eating my memory. Then again, I've converted from a strictly fun user to a strictly business user so the whole gaming and multimedia thing doesn't quite do it for me anymore.
Steiner,
I tried PocketNav to see if it would truly close GoodApp.exe. Although it does seem to shut the application down, the 6+MB exe still is open in memory. Using MemMaid it shows that it never really closes.
I also didn't have the Goodlink software installed . My solution to the problem was: I installed the Sprite Backup software and set it to automatically restart my PPC @ 6 am after creating a backup. So in a way, this problem was very benifical to me - I now have a fresh backup of all the software every morning and the device reboots every morning without my intervention (no BT errors, no WiFi errors, etc).

Good idea!!!
Hi
Does anyone know how to setup IGuidance to work with WM5? I dont know how to work the BT ports at all. In 2003se, i could use the "scan" for bt data and it'd find the itrek gps unit but now it results in "no gps found". alternatively, what other gps software will work other than tomtom? I dont have tomtom =(
I've got version 2.1 and it seems to work with WM5. I add the gps to the bluetooth and then I create an incoming and outgoing port. I set my gps to port 6. In IGuidance it won't detect the gps but if you manually choose port 6 it will work just fine.
Andy
iGuidance 2.1.3 locks up my Wizard after several minutes. Grrr...
I am having all sorts of trouble with my PDA2K (WM5) and iGuidance. Although I think it has more to do with my bluetooth than anything. When I first started trying to get it to work it gave me coordinates that I was in Africa... Anyway, I think I am going to go back to 2003SE.
I'm having a different problem with iGuidance v2.1.3 on WM5. It installs and runs just fine. I use BT over COM6 and it seems fine. The problem I have is that the coordinates are off. The strange thing is that when I run GPSInfo (a separate app) it shows the correct coordinates - iGudiance thinks they are different and thinks I'm in a different location ( a few miles away).
I gave up on it and decided to go back to 2003SE (iGuidace v2.1 that worked perfectly fine on that configuration a long time ago). I followed teh steps to format/clean hive and did the down grade but am having a different problem. I've seen other people running into similar issues but I've not been able to get around it
"BTTrayCE - bluetooth can no longer be used because the license has expired" - I have tried a number of things using different BT stacks, 2003SE builds, reset (soft+hard) etc. Same problem!!! Argh - I'm stuck. I really miss my GPS!
Hi krille,
I also had similar problems with my SX66 and iGuidance and finally decided to go back to win 2003 because it worked fine with it. In WM5 my BT GPS receiver was never able to make a connection with iGuidance. But now I am having a different problem. I cannot downgrade even though I followed all the instructions correctly posted on the BA_Downgrade page. The upgrade program ( MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe ) does not seem to identify the rom versions and though it gives me a successfully upgraded message nothing had happened. I cannot downgrade now and stuck with WM5. Did any of you experience this when downgrading and can offer me any help.
DEK.
I've been upgrading/downgrading with differnt ROMs without any problems
Make sure to disable activesync on the pc and copy the nbf files as described in http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Downgrade_WM5. Sometimes the verion info update to/from doesn't show between WM5/2003SE...
What happens when you click Update to continue?
BaUpgradeUt.exe worked
Thanks for your reply. I followed all the steps as described in the link you have sent but MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe did not upgrade (downgrade to 2003SE) though I got a message saying it did. Then I tried the file BaUpgradeUt.exe in PH20B folder and it did work. My device data file says my SX66 is in fact PH20B1 though. I do not know why MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe cannot update my ROM. Anyway I am happy now with my WM2003SE and iGuidance and BT all work faster with ROM update to 1.40. Now I am planing to customize my ExtROM to have all my personal settings and programs so that I want feel bad not having WM2005. Thanks for your willingness to help.

I need a little help. After I installed TomTom Navigator my bluetooth just stopped working. It wouldn't turn on or even recognize that there was bluetooth in the phone! I did a little looking and found a fix that involved renaming 2 DLL files. Now that I did that I can at least get to the menu that lets me activate it, but when I press yes to start bluetooth I get a message "Cannot start Bluetooth stack". Its not super important that I have it fixed now but ASAP would be nice.
Thanks in Advance,
Brian
any help? im still having this issue.
You need to remove these files:
BtCoreIf.dll
BtSdkCE30.dll
ttn6bt2003.dll
Then restart your device ande the original files will be replaced and BT will work again
thanks for the reply but i already deleted them and did a soft reset. should i download the stock DLL's from the internet to replace them? becuase when i went to go delete them again, the delete and rename options were greyed out.
my problem is, every time i started or soft reset my hd mini, i will get an error message..like this one " 'BTTrayCE' is not a valid Pocket PC application " ..i think its about the bluetooth thing inside the phoone because since i get this message i can't use my bluetooth to transfer/receive files.anyone knows how to solve this?
I've had the problem as well. Probably casused by tomtom installation. Google on tomtom and the error and you may find a solution.
I did (in the end) reinstall a ROM...
yes true.i once installed tom tom,,but i didn't know its because of them..now the problem solved after i uninstall tomtom and hard reset my phone.
