red button as well as "end" do not work after ROM update

Hi community - I updated to VP3G and now either the red button nor the end button finishes the call - this is bad - any idea what I can do ?

Tough to answer with any certainty without knowing more details. Could be your radio - I had that same problem with some radios. Since going with this ROM I have not had the problem. Also what apps do you have loaded?

peter, it is something you have done as no one else has had this issue.
What radio? What software have you installed? Using a different Dialer? Hard reset?
We need more information besides "it doesn't work".

And as long as we're giving advice, this forum prefers possible concerns or issues be posted in the already available thread.
For example; if you're having problems with Black Majik, no need to start another thread, just post in the already available thread.

Yes first I thought it is the radio so I switched to Radio 1.43 but the problem is still there. Now I found out it is more the case when I`m connected via GPRS that the button as well as the "end" software button dòn`t work ...
Applications which I use - no extra phon software, but magic button or the as follows: sk software, skype, sprite backup, webis etc.

It's your hardware controller card, gone bad. After some time all of your front button will stop responding. I had the same problem, sent to Dopod service center and got it fixed.
Its not any of ROM issues what so ever. Its a common defect of some earlier batch, as told by the techies at the Service Center.

Heh, I made the same assertion once and was told on no uncertain terms that I was wrong.

It seems that it is not the hardware because it is wonderful working when I`m not online with GPRS or 3G !
So what elese can I do ? Should I try another ROM or can I just install an updated file for the GPRS issue ?

please remember this is a Dev forum and I believe you answered your own question try flashing another ROM and see if that fixes it. I have no idea about updated GPRS software - you mean a radio ROM? just flash another OS and see if that works its not a problem with 3Gvp's rom but maybe you had a bad flash

Hmmm... that's an interesting twist on the problem I've never heard before. I would suggest a) hard reset b) reflash my ROM c) flash another ROM. I'd probably also go with a Cingular version of the radio for now ... 1.40 or 1.48.

VP - shouldn`t I start with a new radio rom version before I reinstall your ROM ??? At the moment I`m using the 1.43 version

Up to you, but I thought you said you'd already changed radios. I'd probably go for the hard reset and see if it works before installing anything else.

Hi VP, your advice worked - I changed to ROM 1.48 and now when I dial the online connection is stopped and reactivated after the phon call.

Active Sync Error
VP - it´s again me - pls can you look at my problem: My Tytn is telling me -in the meantime several times a day -that I have to resynchronize and after I got the warning to resynchronize there comes the next warning that there is no IP number !

keyborad mapping while in call FIX

This will allow you to type normally while in a call, without the numbers being locked on in other applications. I could not find this anywhere so I did so tinkering and found this key to be the problem. I saw many other people that had the same problem here is the fix. Quite simple.
Just change the following key.
\ HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\
“enablekeyboardmaping” to 1

this worked for me. I am running
WM6 5.2.1620 build 18125.0.4.2
ROM 3.61.502.1
the AT&T version
after I changed this it worked right away no reset needed

It's already built into the ROM im using so I can't check.

before i changed this key it did not work after i changed it it did. so i just changed it back and the numbers didnt come up. i will post the other keyboard cab i found as soon as i can.
i thought i had it
i will also try setting to 0 and soft rebooting just to make sure.

Can you re-confirm the key, sans typos (no offence thepcguy85 )

after reboot the keys did not revert back. so now i am puzzled, l also loaded this cab with keyboard mapping. please note this cab is only for the AT&T 8525. but i am not sure if it was this cab or not.
we may be able to pull the setting out of this cab if it is the fix.

The cab is the same old 8525 keyboard mapping fix.
The key referenced in the OP has typos at the very least.
The ROM referenced in post #7 is the latest AT&T ROM, in which the problem has been fixed.

it was not working when i first Flashed the ROM this is however to the best of my knowledge.

Many many people have asked him what he did in his 3.61 rom thread. You may read his full response there, but, in short, he cannot replicate it.

I checked to see if this would work but my OEM/PhoneSettings Doesn't even have registry key as An Option.

If your saying This , Then that means it has more to Do with Just the Build. I thought it Was the Build that The vp3G ROM was using that corrected the Error but if Fun_Key ROM is using the same Build than It's more than Just the Build .I"ll try Combing Over the Registry Keys in the vp3G ROM and then maybe get some Answers. I"m sure it's been done But what else can we do right now....

Right now...load down vp3G's ROM and try and pull out as much of the AT&T as I can!

i dont think funkeys is based on 3.61 cuz i was diggin thru the reg and found 3.60 as a ver not 3.61.....hmm

I made some mix, but most part should come of 3.61. When I first built my rom there were some issue that denied me to use a full 3.61 through pandora.
But this is in fact a good hint which could allow me to troubleshoot the key mapping issue.

schap's 4.20 Sim problem

when i turn on my phone it doesnt ask for my PIN so i have to turn phone off then on and go to phone setting then it ask me for PIN.anyone else have this problem.
And often freeze up as well.i try 4 different radio rom already but problem still exist!anyone else experience the same?

If I were you I would post your query within the thread. You stand a much better chance of getting it answeed there.
Re freezing problems, have you tried just running the rom on its own to see if you have compatibility issues with your device and/or running software that won't work properly in WM6?
You will need to give more info when you ask your questions in the Schaps thread.

if i post in the schaps 4.20 thread it will just get lost somewhere when i cant find it.but now i have gone back to 3.60 much more stable and faster in every way.but of course it doesn't look as good as 4.20 lol

Rom for HTC 8525

I just updated my at&t 8525 and well i got the i guess official rom its kinda laggy on my phone which is alright but ive uploaded some programs on it and i got my sms threaded which im loving just wondering what would be a good rom for it and would it be the same affect as me updating the official one so i dont brick my phone and mess it up cause there too much to be getting a new one thanks in advance for any help

If you want one that is simple, safe, and made for at&t, you should go with VP3Gs last rom. Its nice, and stable.

I would use Binkys or MRH if I were you, thats what I use on my 8525. But in reality with SPB Mobile Shell you can use almost any ROM which is what im doing now.

I ran his roms for about a year.
While they are VERY good roms, if you're up for manually inputting Data, SMS settins, and tweaking a few other things, the new 6.1 roms FLY.
I am using this one:

It explains everything you need to know to flash ROM's. Then you will need to flash many different ROM's and see which one has what you want. No ROM is the same, and everybody wants something a little different.

I havent tried the new ROM that he just posted but I flashed his rom on the 17th of June and it was SLOOOOW... I mean really slow - boot menu etc and it also sucked the battery down fast w.o WIFI and BT on. Really buggy for me. So, I switched back to a Schaps win 6.0 Rom - stable for now. But if you say this new one works pretty good and is stable, I will give it another shot.
Also, I cannot find out how to fix my QUERTY effin Keyboard. The blue buttons are all effed up - i.e. @ is ? etc... I have seen people talk about this encounter, but I do not know how to fix it. Has this happened to you at all? If so, do you know how to fix it?

so if i get one of these other roms i gotta flash it is there not any already on here made for the 8525 thats already flashed for cingular i mean im not getting this

I'm running his version in my signature and it is fantastic.
With his rom there is a utility that lets you change the keyboard settings. It's called Advanced Config or something like that.

I cant talk for AT&T but I use CRC v11 .. very good
Remember most importantly step 1 is to use HARDSPL V7 this will prevent your mobile phone becomming a brick. You can find details about flashing and hardspl in MRVANX's sticky at the top of this forum.

Schaps advanced config .. search and you will find it v2.1.0.0

so is there any unofficial roms out there that are faster and stable then then official one that is already flashed i mean what do i have to do just explain it to me i gave up a iphone for this and its alot better but iw anna make it faster

First of all! Great forum! You guys have build a great community and I like it. But I hope you can help me with this. i know there are a lot of threads about this, but because all the different type of phones/android versions ect... I don't know what to do...
My question, how can I get Adroid running on my HTC Touch Pro 2 (Rhodium). I have the standart version, so not a branded one.
I've tried to install it but android won't launch. Maby one of you could create a mini tutorial or a noob tutorial, because I think there are more people like me (with less knowedge of phone tech) who want to run android on their phones. I hope you could help me!

Haret is part of the android program. (haret.exe)
You can either use a file explorer to navigate to storage card/android/haret
or with the .cab installs (anything after 2/22) you will get an icon in your start menu.

yea thanks i did a little digging and was finally able to understand that

i dont know why posts like this are started. its so easy to use this perfect cab file! nothing else to do. if people would read just 10 minutes in other threads all questions should be answered...

And second I can't charge my battery with the usb cable is this also a known problem?

Disable your pin in WinMo as stated in my release notes.

NO there is no android version with working wifi for rhodium yet...

I have Android installed on my phone and it works fine except one MAJOR thing. I messed up the touch screen calibration and now I can't use the touch screen in android and I cant figure out how to recal the touch screen in android.
Got it. i just deleted the ts calibration file from the android project folder and started android again.

Ok man maybe you can help me out with the problem im having. I go to file explorer and i launch Haret.exe and it immediately takes me to the linux booting page with the penguin at top. But it soon stops saying "Cant access tty. Job control turned off. And it doesnt move from there. What am i doing wrong?

delete all the contents from the .cab file you downloaded, make sure your memory card has wiped any remaining files from the original download, re-install and make sure you are downloading the correct .cab file for your handset, install to memory card and try again.

Someone else will help them out. It's not that serious. I can tell you one problem here that I encountered was a thread would be started and trail off into someting completely different never answering the first question. After reading pages upoon pages you get nothing. Some people like myself have real lives and real jobs and dont have time to sit here and read every post. If you take it so serious maybe you should sticky an informative how to guide and maybe that will stop people from bothering you so much.

I was actually on XDA for about 6 months, reading, before I finally decided to even MAKE an account, because I didn't want to be "That Noob". It was about another 6 months to a year before I posted anything at all. As you said yourself, most questions have already been asked a million times. This means that it is only a matter of reading, before you find someone that has asked the same question. In most cases once you find the question, and read a little further it leads you to the answer. He was smart enough to post in the correct sub-forum, which means he must have read through the forums a bit anyways. It wouldn't have taken much more work to read the top 3 sticky threads in that same sub-forum, and find the answer to the question.

I can get the whole thing to load however I cannot ever get the start screen (touch the androind to start) to ever let me touch it. The only thing that works is the keyboard input. Any suggestions?
