Address-autocompletion in WM6

Hi Folks!
Has anyone managed to get the To-Field autocomplete functionality in WM6 back to how it worked under WM5? Under WM5 it checked the name I typed into the To-Field against the Addressbook in "realtime" - under WM6 I now have to go into the Menu and select "Check Names".

I don't find anything negative in "Geek" and I would define myself as such but since I definitely did not mean to offend anyone and since It's sure that at least one person did take it that way I've changed my posting.

My autocomplete seems to work fine on WM6. I start typing the name and i get a list automatically pop up so i can just click it. I get this for SMS and email. MMS unfortunately i still have to click to and then add names manually but then i had to do that with WM5 anyway.

That's strange - for me it does not. Have you installed an extended ROM? Because I haven't and thats the only difference I can think of.

No problem mate! But still I will not call anyone Geek anymore since it's apparently not for everyone as positive as for me.

Nope, only cabs i've installed from an ext rom are the ones that get video calling working.
Pretty sure that it was working before then though......
With WMXL v.20 coming soon (no doubt you'll be upgrading) you may want to try a hard reset or perhaps a reflash to see if your problem persists.

Today Date PlugIn

Hi guys! just wondering if there is a reg tweak so i can get the time as well as the date on the date today plugin. it does it on some ROMs so i know its possible, just doesnt do it on my current one (DuttyThroy Ultra Ultra Lite). I have read through the wiki but to no avail!

You can find the TodayAgenda very ussefull, and the LVMDate too, but try to do a little bit research before, and ask in the right forum, this one is related to WM6 only...

They are both extra programs which i dont see the need to install seeing as it is possible to do it with what must be a reg tweak (Black RC does it, Schaps latest etc).
And it is the place for this question seeing as its WM6 related!!!!
Oh and i have researched a lot before asking. Believe me, i know how certain members treat noobs that ask b4 looking and i dont want to be set on fire!!

if you change your regional settings to united states you will get both, i dont think it works for united kingdom i think

If you only want the tweak, try with the Advanced Configuration Tool from Schaps.
You can find the tweak in the Hermes Registry Wiki too...

I dont think u understand what i mean, i want time and date on the date plugin NOT the top bar which is what Schaps AC does. I have checked the Hermes Reg Tweak guide and again it is the same thing.
If u click on the link for Today Agenda above and go to screenshots, u see what i mean. The very top plugin on the today screen has date on the left of plugin and time on the right.

And with Black X RC it had both time and date on the today plugin even when i switched it to UK region settings.

What you're searching for would appear to be the TodayTime plugin, available here. Back in my Wizard daze many cooks would include it in their ROM kitchens, not so much with the Hermes cooks.
And I disagree, this has nothing to do with WM6.

I really understand you, man...
If you take a look at the Schaps tools options, you'll find one called "Single line date plugin"...this is the one helps you. Also, Schaps tool allows you to change much things...
And in the Wiki page there's one tweak for this too...
Today Date Plugin on a single line
Add this registry setting to get the date todayplugin back on one line.
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today]
"AutoSingleLineDatePlugin" = dword:00000001

lol! i want the TIME on the same line as the date? where does the reg tweak do this? all it does is put all the date on ONE LINE!!! i want to ADD the TIME to the line whereas default is just the DATE

With my knowloedge you can't add time and date in one line today plugin with OS default plus any tweak...
But you can do with LVWDate or TodayAgenda...yes, i know you must install it, but you can't get all...

with all "Telstra" setting on it all tho i am on the "3" network im just looking into how do i go about chaning the settings on the handset so i can use "3" on it.

okay sorry for the misunderstanding,
the problem is that my phone is all "preset" to all the other carries setting for the internet etc.
i went into connections/Network Wizard all tho its not in there.
The phone is unlocked so i can put any SIM CARD in it.
so all im asking if there's a way to get my own settings on it.
and change the ones that are on there. because i can't use the internet at the moment.

oh.. if it's not found in the network configuration program, then you can do it manually..
easiest way is to setup a prov xml file with your settings which will load them all in to your registry. You can search the site for details on that.
otherwise, i think the cab on the first post of this thread **may** be what you're looking for. hope it helps

Caller Name display with Rogers on HTC S620

Ok guys, i need help.... I saw a LOT of threads regarding this issue, but I think i'm blonde, because i can't seem to make it work.... :-/
I'm with Rogers Canada and I just bought a HTC S620 unlocked with windows moble 6.... I see the number of the person calling, but not his name (and I do pay to get this service)
I know I can make it work by changing the values of the registry key, as I have read a couple of times in other forums, but... this is where i'm totally lost....
I'm on MAC, so I use Missing Sync to synchronize my phone, not Active Sync.... I tried downloading Mobie Registry Editor, as well as PHM Reistry Editor, but it does not seem to work (or i'm not doing the right thing...!)
Can anybody please tell me what i need to do (with a LOT of details LOL)

Did you imported the contacts from your simcard to the contacts in the phone ?
I think that will help.

Yeah, the name display appears when one of my contact is calling, that's not a problem, but I want to have the name displayed when it's someboby OUTSIDE my contact list who's calling.... The number of the person appears, not his / her name (i do pay for this service and the name did appear with my old phone).... :-/

Your service might not support that so your name will not show up. It only shows up if it is in your contact... Many cell phone providers do not have this option....

Mine does I am 100% sure... and i have read on many forums that since this phone is unlocked and not "officially" supported by Rogers, I need to modify the registry in order for the name to be displayed....

i just can's seem to figure out how to edit the registry, especially since i'm on mac...

The reg edits you pointed to seems as if no one got it to work anyway from what just read and i did read every link off and more.

Actually Stylez I am using Ricky and your Rose 1.5 ROM and Rogers Name Display seems to be working with this version. I was never able to get it to work with the orginal WM 6.1 ROMs but it tis working in the Rose ROM.

For those who don't know Rogers Name Display is basically Caller ID for your cell. It will display the name of the caller even if they are not one of your contacts as long as the Rogers network can figure out who the caller is.

Rose is an s740 to which now has it's ROM ported to the s620, Rose can be found im my sig, also NRG has the original available.
The guide to flashing is in sig too, also sorry about the confusion over gender

would by any chance have the link to the Rose ROW, the one I found and downloaded gives me an error message saying that a file is corrupted and it stopped the upgrade at 4% (thank god the phone still works....!) thanks a lot

If you look @ sig click Rose ROM link then go to the bottom of post one there is a little bit about how to flash & 3% and a link to the files to rectify this

Hope goraps can answer that one as i'm not a Rogers user as you could probably grasp from previous comments lol, glad you like the ROM, just want to say very impressive photo's

Few unfixed problems in the kitchen

Ok, I decided to write new thread because most of the rom makers I pm to didn't answer me at all. Some kind of secrets or whatever. I think we should help each other to improve our ROM's but maybe I'm wrong.
I have some issues in my owe ROM which I can't really fix. Maybe someone will know the solution
1. Some ROM makers wrote in their changelogs that now CommMgr is really closing without being on the process list all the time? How?
2. I'm using EZinput keyboard 2.0.33633 full qwerty and two keyboards should be available: full qwerty and phone keyboard. Only the first one is present in the system (the second one now is standard MS keyboard instead of phone keyboard 2.0 EZinput). Why? I changed the EXT package many times to make sure it's ok and all the time the same issue...
3. Is there a working method to change system rings to wav? Every time I do it then they doesn't work. Do I have to change also some registry value?
4. Windows Media Player dosen't play any videos. I changed mHub and mHubVO into some other versions but still no efect. What else could be the reason?
That's all what I'd love to know to make my ROM better

I know how to manually switch between those keyboards using registry entries [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\ezsip]
CurrentSIP set to a00 is Phone Keypad and d00 for fullQWERTY. But still it's impossible to change it in menu (WM6.5 21725)
That's all I want to share with, maybe it will help someone. Should I expect some respond? I don't think so :]

Dude, about the comm manager, I don't know which version of comm manager are u using. But I got my comm manager working good n closing when clicked on x button. All I can say is don't use any new version like 2.8 or topaz comm manager. Use the 2.7.1.4 version. It's OG diamond comm manager n works nice. I'm using the same version.

The keyboard is still my biggest problem. I wonder what's wrong that I cannot switch between Full qwerty and phone keypad in the sip menu bar.

Did u try the GEN Y sip menu..??
I heard someone there saying that if we have the touchflo installed, then only we can change between the phone pad n qwerty board. But touchflo brings some more diff probs elsewhere.
Surprising issue this.. Coz it works perfectly fine with ezinput 1.

My touchflo is completly deleted. All registry entries and app. because in WM6.5 it's totally useless.'

do u have a package of touchflo..?? If not, I'll mail it to you. Try to import it n see if it works. I had in the previous build of this kitchen.

i dont know..check gen y thread..u will definitely get moe help there. its surely been talked about in that thread.

I think I know the answer. Ability to change between keyboards wouldn't work on wm6.5 without HTC menuenhancement.

nope its not only that, u definitly need the touchflo package, but that package conlicts with wm 6.5
the only thing we can do is wait for HTC to bring out its first WM 6.5 rom for diamond2, then we can take the new touchflo or ezinput package from that rom
about the windows media player issue, make sure u have the DShow OEM in your rom

I do have it - DShow_2_0_19141126_0 - or maybe there is some newer? Or older working better?

there a slight newer one in my kitchen, here are the oems i use for multimedia:
- DShow_2_00_19143426_0
- mHub_6_57_080529_E0
- mHubVO_1_75_090515_X0
u should also check the following drivers in OEMDrivers:
- qtv.dll
- qtv_mp4_decoder.dll
try replacing those drivers

BTW which ConcurrenceMGR are u using? 1_5_19113219_0000?

Ok, it's me again
And again some damn issues in my kitchen
For last two days I was looking for the source of why my Face down mute ring stopped working. In registry everything is fine. Exept of registry, is there any dll library or something responsible for that? Also when I'm in windows file explorere and want to copy the file from IS to main memory (I do tap on "Copy")and then tap on the menu to choose the location then it crashed.
Any ideas for soulution those two problems?
PS. One more thing I forgot... I used to have my clock and calendar to set up automaticly the date and time after HR but now it seems to be gone... Is it up to network type currently using? GPRS/3G? Or maybe some registry value?

Thanks dude but it doesn't work. I was trying with both, 0 and 1 to make sure but still no effect. Friend of mine checked some others 6.5 ROM's and it seems that it doesn't work in any of them.

I found out that automatic time and date set works only if 3G/SHDPA network is available. So this question is out of date.
If anyone find the solution with face down mute ring then please let me know.
Another issue that I was hoping to solve is contact list popping up every time after SR. So in titanium softkeys registry I changed SK1URL into HTCActionScreen. And now... HTCActionScreen popping up every time after SR. Any solution for that?
