I'm currently using the full animated manila (1.1.30...or something like that) on my fabulous Dutty's v2 UltraLite ROM...and trying to modify some images, using Manila Editor, I've seen that are present some image files that in other tf3d versions are used by "mode9" (I think this is the file where are contained all manila "rules") to let the manila landscape launcher active...
So: anyone could explain what have to do (if it's possible!) to make launcher active in landscape visual on this manila version?
Thank you guys...
whew, it would be nice if someone could do this..
Landscape Manila menu
Hi all,
As far as I am aware, this has only been successfully implemented on the Diamond in Bepe's bElite ROM. He uses 'Gnes' - his own incarnation of GSen - to control the orientation. I don't believe Gnes adds any extra functionality as far as menus within TouchFlo3D, or even that is a requirement to trigger the landscape event, after all the Raphael manages without Gsen! I cannot identify why this rom's TF3D works in landscape (displays special menu), while other's do not.
Below are some relevant quotes from Dutty's thread which may be of some relevance:
ahirshfield said:
Dutty et al,
<snip>
26948339_manila (in /Windows) is an XML file used by Manila to control the tabs, options, menus and icons within TF3D.
We regularly change this file manually, inserting relevant XML code, to incorporate the Call History Tab, Active Clock Icon and Custom Calendar.
The replacement of this file by any users attempting to quickly gain Call History (eg. by .cab file) sometimes leaves other Menu functions inoperative as the XML changes slightly between versions of Manila.
But that is a different subject matter. (If anyone is having issues with Manila-extras I am happy to assist!)
One can use WinMerge (http://www.winmerge.org/) to compare ('diff') the content of the Manila XML files to identify particular strings which change from version to version.
This is also how we can manually identify and insert any XML required to incorporate 'Call History' and other functions into the rom's own 26948339_manila, without replacing the file with one built potentially for a different Manila version.
On inspection, the unaltered 26948339_manila file from v1.8 and v2.0 have identified the following changes:
The following image paths which I believe represent the landscape-menu available on the Raphael. This remains inoperative, so I don't know what effect these values have, if any:
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\BackgroundBorder.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\BackgroundTile.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Button.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\ButtonFocus.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Bookmarks.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Calendar.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Contacts.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Email.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Notes.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Messages.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Icon_newTask.qtc" />
<PreloadImage Path="HTC\Assets\Images\LandscapeMenu\Icon_webSearch.qtc" />

Have you reverted to a different Manila build? This would also explain the larger font sizes on Home Screen, Messages, etc, and the additional 'landscape' image paths. I attach both unmodified versions of the 26948339_manila file for your understanding and trial with the 1.8 rom's Manila version. <snip>

The "Landscape" image paths in the 2.0 XML noted in my first post, which are missing in the 1.8 XML, seem to indicate that 1.8 manila may not have been from Raphael? This does not seem to affect any functionality on the Diamond though. (Until of course you can get the Raphael's landscape TF3D menu working in your rom! ;-) <snip>

Unfortunately Bepe is absent from his own thread at the moment, so would not be able to shed any light on how this is working in his rom.
Meanwhile, Dutty is creating what is IMHO the best Diamond rom available, incorporating bleeding-edge versions of every OEM application including TF3D. His latest Manila is from the Raphael, hence the existence of the mode9 Landscape image paths, however it still doesn't have the actual landscape functionality. I am unsure whether Dutty is considering or even interested in implementing this Raphael functionality in his Diamond rom.
In the meantime, Fabliv has done some great work on manipulating the old "Action Screen" to mimic the landscape-style menu albeit via Manila soft-key and in portrait:

Manila Landscape Menu on Diamond - by Swtos & Alphazero?
It seems Swtos and Alphazero have succeeded in implementing the Manila TouchFlo3D Landscape Menu on the Diamond. They have a Rotation-controlling application called Flip_It which sounds similar to Bepe's Gnes.
Here is my post to them for assistance on understanding this solution:

I would like to know the place where the landscape-icons refer to (like calender.exe, or notes.exe).
I can change images and referrers, so I can add other icons (would like a comm-managerbutton there for example).
What manila-file is used for landscape-menu?
landscape manila with stock touch pro rom
Does anyone know if you have to install the modified manila (landscape) to get flip it to work correctly? My ROM (the stock uk touch pro ROM) already has a landscape menu, but it doesn't trigger when the screen is rotated - you have to slide out the keyboard.
I have been using changescreen, but while this is excellent it doesn't support triggering manila landscape mode. I tried installing wildberry's flipit, but this did nothing - not even screen rotation.
Does anyone know :
1) are there issues with flipit on the Touch Pro?
2) If I persevere and get it working, do I have to install a modified manila to get the landscape manila menu to show?
Cheers all, so much great work on this site :-D
BTW, one of my own discoveries - if you turn on font anti-aliasing on the TP, it causes serious freezes (i'm talking minutes) rotating the screen. I've always turned this on on my wince phones, took me months to find the problem - eventually found a forum somewhere that told me what gwes.exe was (its the aa prog) after it crashed on my phone. Haven't seen this issue posted anywhere else - is there an issues section for Raphael where I should post?

Oh..and I will not attempt to make it work for other Hermes not running official WM6 from Dopod. You can try it by backup your phone registry first, if it work, GREAT!. If it dontsimply uninstall it and restore your registry. As always, use it at your own Risk!

Now before you start saying something stupid why dont you show me if there is an EXACT same file from my images and those of yours and mun? I would be surprise if you can find ONE(ofcourse except those graphics that we can use from kaiser without any further tweaking)
If you are talking about resemblance...all the graphics are all ported from the original Kaiser it should look a like. The original Kaiser dialer DONT belongs to ANYBODY.
I would expect you to came back here with your prove OK? JUST ONE GRAPHIC. If not then that said it all.
p.s. I do notice you "promote" your dialer twice here today right after I release mine.

duron is just a bit paranoid about this whole thing thinking that photoshop works is his biggest talent that none can do....
BTW I did think about designing to look exacly the same as Kaiser but it did not work. The hermes dialer has different layout. The Video Progress button screen for example will overlap. We might think that the "right" part of the main dialer is "cool" being covered with " dummy grey button", but that part of the screen has its own purpose for Hermes(picture display and Long Names and Numbers also will extend to the far right). It is not supposed to be covered.
So duron, what are you going to say....! I dont need your dialer...there are many flaw if I may say it frankly.
Hi All
Since getting a Touch HD iv'e been trying to make some of my favourite programs look ok with the WVGA Resolution.
Here are 3 skins i have either made or modified that work well all keeping the Touchflo 3D Theme.
The first is an S2u2 theme (just copy the gfx folder to the s2u2 dir) and use the clock dir
Second is a quick basic Launch manager theme (copy the defaultwvga dir into the skins dir of lm
last is a Pocketcm theme , This is not my theme but i adapted to work on WVGA , The theme was created by Oumpahpah called Dark Diamond II - 2, I just resized some graphics and made the buttons work on the contact details page, I also edited the ini file to resize some of the screen placings.
There i 1 small glitch which i have yet to iron out on the sms page but it does not interfere with the working of the sms page it just bugs me its there (a white line around the SMS box)
you need to extract both the zip and the dir into the pocketcm dir and choose the
Modified Dark Diamond II 0.25c VGA theme
Also check here for a nice TF3d calendar mod
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=423647
It works great and ive also managed to move the tab using the diamond TF3D editor
also from a diamond thread ive managed to change the calendar link from the homepage to thumbcal and the all people shortcut on the contacs page to pocketcm
I just wish HTC would allow us to show more Appointments on the home screen it seems a waste of the lovely screen not to fill it up
Hope these help
Edit Fixed the SMS glitch Ver2 uploaded of teh PocketCM Theme
Edit Added Thumbcal Skin (skin.diamond_WVGA.zip) just put the zip into the Thumbcal Dir
the other skins work ok but i noticed that the lines were not even on the vga Skin so this fixes that along with the images are now the correct size
New Calculator SKin
Found a great VGA Calc Skin by L.Sylvain but i admended it for WVGA
Install the L.Sylvain cab file then extract the SpbCalc_P_VGA.png file from the SpbCalc_P_VGA.zip and copy it into the windows dir
Edit 20-11 Resized the Landscape too - copy both files into the Windows Dir
Edit 21-11 Small update to the Calc Skin - Changed the pressed keys to Green which is more in line with the Touch HD Theme
08-12 removed the original calc skin as there are better versions now
The final skins are later in this thread
Calc with Grey Pressed buttons SpbCalc_P_WVGA_grey_Final.zip
calc with Green Pressed Buttons SpbCalc_P_WVGAgreen_Final.zip
Both have a condensed but i think easier layout on portrait
and a full layout on landscape
Wow, the calendar and it's tab looks VERY nice! It's late now, but I'll definitely give this a try tomorrow..thanks!
hi machmandp
do i get it right?
I can get the calendar tab in tf3d on the touch hd following the instructions given on the link you supplied?
Do I loose any other tab of the original tabs by performing thid modification?
Thanks in advance for your replies!
Ascenca
Hi
I can just give my experience and i lost no tabs when i added it
I dont use the stock tab which is why it's missing from my setup but it's available (i tried it)
Machmandp - you are an absolute star! I piddled around with the dark diamond skin when I got my HD and got so far with it but then got stuck. I've been hoping someone would sort this out as it is a very appropriate theme for the HD. Limited testing so far and although I can see your (very minor) issue on the SMS screen, everything else looks very good...so many, many thanks. I'd be interested in any further tweaks you make to this skin.
I might pick your brains on linking to different calendar/contact apps, but I'll try searching again first.
Thanks again
I put it on and took it off again because I did lose a tab - programs. I don't have time to play with it right now. It also seems to be static - in other words you get a tab displaying a calendar page but you can't actually do much more than look at the dates. You can't open and interact with the calendar for example.
Mind you that's on a very limited try and I'm happy to be corrected.
machmandp - did you by any chance slot your version into where the stock tab would have been? Also, what do you do with the locale file - I was getting IDS_Calendar_... in front of everything. Can you do more with the calendar than just look at it?
If you get a second, can you point me in the right direction for the diamond tweaks for calendar and contacts - I'm drawing a blank so far
Cheers
Hi
the link for the editor i used for the contacts and calendar links
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407777
make sure you read the whole thread as it has info for the touch HD later in the thread
I did put the calendar where the stock tab used to be but i have enabled the stock tab and it still shows so i have lost no tabs at all.
As regards to the local file you just need to download the lacales.zip from the thread and put the correct locale file into the windows dir (mine was en-us)
yep it's very static at the moment but as the page evolves i figure that it's a good thing to have it working and then i'll just have to replce the actual manila files without having to edit any again, also it's still pretty good as a quick veiw calendar
I am working on the Pocketcm skin so hopefully i'll get rid of that glitch soon
Thanks

Hi, in anticipation of getting hold of my Touch HD (when mobiles.co.uk eventually ships it on O2!) I'm been tinkering around with my Hermes.
I love the look of your S2U2 skin. I've tried to replicate it on my Hermes back down to 320x240 screen.
All seems to have worked ok except I can't get rid of the coloured overlay that S2U2 puts behind the clock. I've changed the background picture to be the one that I use across all devices (the nice blue sunray looking one from Windows 7) but it ends up with this semi-translucent bar with the clock figures and date in across the top half.
Which image file do I need to make transparent to make that go away?
Hope my post made sense.
I'll try and get some screen shots up to show what I mean.

More Daft Questions...Sorry!
@machmandp - I have a little more time now so I'm going to have a play.
First off, I'm going to follow the Calendar hack to set up PI. Seems simple enough from the links you provided.
Then I'm going to look at linking PCM Contacts to the People Tab. How does that work for you? When you tap the contact picture does it link to the correct contact in PCM Contacts? Do the links to call or send SMS under the picture still function?
Lastly, I might give the Calendar Tab hack a go again. I followed the instructions quite carefully and am bothered that managed to lose my Programs tab. Did you copy the XML straight out of the original post? Did you mess around with the Page Order at all? Were you able to use the built in tab configurator to manipulate the tabs including the new calendar tab?
Hugely appreciate all your help so far - you've already made my day today with the fix for the PCM Contacts skin - and I'd immensely grateful for any more guidance you can offer.
Hi
Yes i copied the xml from the page but with the HD having an extra tab i put the number of the calendar page as 11 not 10
As regards to moving the tabs i had to use the diamond TF3d Configurator from the diamond forum, This works fine.
The link to Pocketcm is only for the All people softkey and not for any of the contacts but i find this works well
Hope that helps

screen orientation is only a minor detail since xml file is easily changed to fit any screen orientation or size, the only time its a problem is if you want it to work for both portrait and landscape in a single xml.

I would start by asking shadowmike about it, but its probably not much different. I would then follow install instructions and cabs he has posted on his forum. His cabs were taken/modified from the port for all devices located in Development and Hacking forum here at xda. I know he changes the dpi, but you can do this with dash as well. The main deal would be someone taking the time to adjust the htchomesettings.xml file to properly display the pages and tabs on the dash screen. It wouldn't work on my blackjack, but then again, neither would the htc sliding panels from rose rom.
This is my beloved black/green original HTC Manila theme and maybe a "reference" for others manila skinner.
Black default HTC theme for graphics & default green highlights for all colored components (checkbox, buttons and so on)
no screen needed as we all known default htc black theme
developed and tested with itje's latest build, currently T-mobile one from 6.1 2.604 kitchen. Feel free to try on other roms, it should work, but keep in mind that results may be different.
why 2 cab? to separate "static" graphic elements form indicators, selectors and so on. It's a huge work, done once for all (I hope ).
guap Manila Default Black.cab contains only "static" graphics (tabs, bars...)
guap Manila Green Hilights.cab contains only "skinnable" items (selectors, checkbox, buttons) to keep simple for others to change colors on their own without having to search all of them.
If you want i.e. to make a "red" theme, just edit files in Highlights.cab and you're ready
Or if you want to have black back on your t-mobile manila but keeping the blue/gray selectors and indicators, you can install only Default Black
How to install: disable manila, install cab (always to device if asked!!!), then re-enable manila. Soft reset shouldn't be required, but has to be the first option in case of weird behaviours
All cabs are unistallable and shold be an harmless process, but ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP with something like sprite backup or spb backup.
Other goodies
guap Green Fingermenu.cab for default green fingermenu
guap Green UsbToPC.cab for default green UsbToPC popup
guap Manila Green EnlargeStartMenu.cab for green EnlargeStartMenu
guap Manila Blue T-Mobile EnlargeStartMenu.cab for restore t-mobile colors on EnlageStartMenu (as this requires registry entries, isn't sufficient to uninstall the green one)
guap Manila Green Taskmanager.cab for green TaskManager (tnx to itje)

@BobAndrews: not from me at the moment. I released separate cab to encourage other users to make their own skin starting from standard green package
with a script (even in photoshop afaik) should be simple to change saturation to all files at same time

thank you! Stupid me, i was looking in HKLM near the enlargemenu... -_-'
Realized that this is still missing the new modifications to the dialer..
but those have to be done in the registry, which is a lot of work.
Dont blame ya if you dont want to do it
Nice one, Is there anyway to get the clock white ?

wich modification? This is related to manila only, manila isn't supposed to have a dialpad
can you post a screen?
@tomzibad: of course, open package with m9editor, extract clock png (they are clearly recognized ) and make your own color
Is there anyway to change to selection colour for the notification manager?
When I click it, it's still the same colour that I got rid of everywhere else. I still have a weird blue/grey/purple colour. And I would like the green in the notifications manager.
uhm maybe I missed it. Take a look in the latest kitchen, components are sort by directory, should be simple to find the misssed bmp for notification manager

Which kitchen should I use to find this? Anyone in particular. Thanks for the tip ^^
thanks guap for your cabs, very useful.
I installed them to remove t-mob customizations in the rom i use. I wanted to rollback to default HTC classic scheme.
But after applying the cabs, the UI remains the same, strange to me, even the flip-clock (I don't like t-mob white-on-black clock). Your cab contains both square backgrounds, as well as digits, suppose the digits are white and the background is black in your cab file?
Pls advice, howto revert to black-on-white flip-clock?

Wow! Looks nice! And it adds transparent tabs and wallpaper to all manilla pages!
Thanks!
Hi. I have problem with distorted graphics on the email tab (email account select). Any1 has experience with this problem? I am using green buttons, selectors etc. and Itjes 7+ final or Smabergs 6.2 ROMs
Dear knaplullig, guap
I noticed a problem, after installing Plain HD TF3D.cab,
my start menu stopped working (before when tapping on 'start', I had programs menu, not the classic start menu).
Which .manila file is to blame?
Dear All,
anyone, who uses this Plain TF3D tweak, do your start menu work ok?
Mine (I had programms when tapping 'start' -- before installing Plain TF3D cab) just stopped responding to taps. Winkey on Hw keyboard works (old-style start menu).
Anybody has suggestion, what has to be corrected in order to have responding startmenu back again?
FOUND!
I've found the file which froze startmenu.
It's 5c9aa261_manila. Can it be fixed somehow?

Did you find a way to fix this? I tried installing it and had the same problem. It won't remove either so I may have to reflash
not to reflash you just have to re-instal and then remove the program.
also you can try this threads solutions.
hi there.
i cooked my phone with Miri`s WM6.5 and tried to get more style from the TF3D using MAX TF3D theme maker
i used lots of components to try and make the BG4ALL to work
i also used other BG4ALL releases in this forum and nothing worked
just gos the title screen transparent, nothing works normally, the home screen appears broken, nothing is transparent and the icons in programs just look like they are behind a smoke curtain
can anybody supply a solution for this
in MAX TF3D the maker (used last version) the home components don`t work at all same problem, not even dutty`s.

what version of miris do you use? he also have one with manila 2.5 and that would maybe be the problem
V22 with manila 2.1.38403.2
Install MaxTTM
Add one of the BG4All components from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4038398&postcount=839 to your MaxTTM/Components dir where you installed the app.
Run MaxTTM, select TF3D 2.1 Home Layout from the drop down list, select a BG4All layout you like and press 'Deploy'.
Close the TRefresh warning and press TRefresh button in bottom left.
Close MaxTTM and wait for TF3D to reload
Go to the settings tab and set a wallpaper
I'm not using Miri's rom, and he updates his manila version quicker than I can keep up... It is possible that a new layout might be needed to be made to work. However the version you're using is being used by other people who have no problems...
is it possible with manila 2.5 version to mke anything ?Maybe transparentslider or another tabicons...
thanks

Yep. I've started disassembling it and cataloguing what files do what. Mostly theyve just changed names, so you can rename older edits to work with it (tab icons etc). I'm loathe to work too hard on it as these are very early alpha builds - the final release might be completely different!
10x millski , that worked perfectly
