Could someone post some files from different ROMs?

Hi,
I'm currently trying to change the word completion feature on my XDA2 (English ROM) to German. Could someone with a German ROM post his mssp2_de.lex file?
The idea is to change the Spell Check key in the registry and see if this would work...
Oh, and another request: Could someone post all the themes that are included by default on a WM2003SE device? (I'm looking for a landscape version of the 'default' theme from WM2003).

i know of a project where they did the same but
the lex only do dictionary in word not in mails and sms thats from somewhere else
that that was required was taking the
mssp2_XX.lex file from a pc with word97 (not sure why it had to be 97)
copying it to the pda and overwriting the
mssp2_en.lex file there
though some people have been reporting it imposible after 2003 or something
here is the reg to the dic name and location btw
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Speel Check\Main_Dict

Thanks for posting the key (I already knew it, but I wanted to test it first).
I don't think, it's possible to overwrite this file because it seems to be a ROM file. But chances are good that copying another file to the \windows folder and changing the regsetting could work.
Anyone could post the German mssp2_de.lex file from his PDA?

Hi guys,
after many days of testing I'm releasing my kitchen for i780.
It is very basic: no gui, only batch Windows scripts.
What you can do with this kitchen:
A) Convert your Part02.raw dumped rom to bin flashable PDA rom
B) Create a dump folder to cook your own rom and recreate a bin flashable PDA file.
Please notice that there's no tool included to edit, add or delete modules and files from rom dump.
You must use one of the tools available here in forum to do this or do this by hand.
Donwload the zip file and extract everything.
READ CAREFULLY THE README FILE IN THE ZIP ARCHIVE
This file explains how the procedures work and what you need.
PLEASE TEST THIS KITCHEN AND REPORT YOUR RESULTS
I thank chaimd for his bintonb0 tool, tadzio for his tools and Juggler for conv3 sourcecode.
I also thank Topogigi for his original procedure.
I modified conv3 tool to make it work with i780 rom files and made split and merge tools.
If you want to try this kitchen, I thank you!

Issue 1: it seems there's a problem with Part02.raw conversion. It screws up connection settings. Problem is being investigated.
[Partial solution]: it seems that this problem is due to both size and language: I used an English rom to convert an Italian Part02.raw.
Using an Italian rom seems to solve the problem. But you must check the new rom size: if it's too big it gets cut down and it doesn't work.

thats easy .. heres how to do it
fire up mirage on ur pc and chose the eboot+phone+pda option and select ur file ..
then dont connect the samsung to pc.. instead use file explorer on pc nd go to c and copy the three files to some other folder.. cancel the mirage on pc then

I love your footer about the 8502 being a mistake. I also own one. what a dissappointing and relatively useless machine it is, and I can't find a buyer...

I have tried with dump of HC1 italian but I have more problems.
The more little is the desappear of office folder but most important is the deseppear of remote connection e wifi connection.

In another thread, people were talking about a xip part needed to switch from wm6 to wm6.1

Convert Part02.raw to .bin

Thanks for your effort to create a kitchen for the i780! I wanted to create a backup of my Dutch i780-rom (PDA: i780XKHA3) and I managed to dump part00.raw, part01.raw and part02.raw.
Now I wanted to convert part02.raw to a flashable .bin file so I could reflash this Dutch rom if I want to go back to factory defaults, but the warnings make me a bit scary to test the .bin I created, so I wanted to ask some questions first:
-The .bin has to be as large as possible, I have the i780pda_WWE_test2.bin which is 78.512 kB and my Part02.raw is 79.104 kB. The .bin I get when the conversion is finished has a size of 78.512 kB. Does this mean some data of my original dump is lost? (I kinda understand your conversion tool replaces the part02.raw file of a flashable .bin rom with another part02.raw which in my case is the Dutch part., but is all the information still in it?)
-My second question is if it is a problem if I used an English .bin with a Dutch .raw?

Thank you for using my kitchen.
First of all I ask you to use version 0.2 BETA: it contains some important corrections in conv3 tool.
Now:
1) Part02.raw is usually bigger than required. So we are interested into its shrinked size. I think that your 78512K bin file should be good.
In 0.2 kitchen it is explained how to check bin size is enough for new data.
2) It's not clear whether you'll have problem with a bin of a different language than raw file. As for my experience, I always got connection problem when I used a different language bin. You can try and then have a look at connection settings and at wifi Internet-Work settings. If you find no connection defined or you can't connect through wifi, than it doesn't work.
You should use a Dutch bin to be sure you'll have no problem.

i am waiting for update of english wwe rom for p320
i had purchased this phone in indoa then i upgraded to some zzt rom which was unfortunately chinese ..
i qureid the asus support center and they were not helpful they suggested to send it to service center...
then i found that they had posted russian and french roms version 4.10
.. i tried to upgrade to french rom but i cudnt for the first trial it said that u cant upgrade to any rom of different language ..:-(
then i tried to use the chinese rom update file and the rom of french and it was upgraded to french now atleast i have french where i can understand something atleast better than chinese roms...

Could you tell how you made it by using the chinese rom update file with the french. I got the 4.10 chinese HK rom and the french one.
What are the step by step procedure ?

P320 ROM WWE is now available on asus support website.
Alternatively, you can download it directly from their ftp.
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/Mobile_Phone/P320/
If your P320 is originally a Chinese machine, and you want to flash it to other language, just follow what rajivenator did.
1) Download both Chinese ROM and English ROM (or other language you need)
2) Extract the zip files and you'll get a "2577" folder for each ROM.
3) Copy the "autorun.exe" of the Chinese ROM and the .bin file of the English ROM into a "2577" folder anywhere you like.
4) Then copy this "2577" folder to the micro sd card and put it into P320.
5) Normally it will autorun and what you need to do is to follow the on-screen instruction.
6) If nothing happens, open File Explorer and go to the "2577" folder and click autorun.exe.
Hope it will help some of you.

Download and extract this file, and then copy 850_GAX_SD.bin (hidden) to root of SD card. Plug SD card to PPC and switch device to SD boot loader by holding Volume down button and
click Reset, still holding Volume down until you see card checking.

I have purchased this Asus P320 from france thinking that it would be a dodle to change the language to English, just a simple swap of roms. But it seems alot more complicated than that, I have read an earlier post which gives me an idea of how to change the roms but this was for chinese to french. It wont seem to work getting it to go from French to english. Any Ideas on what to download or do? I have followed these instructions on here but change it from french to english; like take the auto installer from the french rom firmware and take the WWE rom but it still says that it is wrong language and if i try reseting it with holding the vol down key then it says that it has failed to boot from the sd card Am I doing the right thing???

You must download it, open it with TotalCommander (or other program with hidden files visibility), copy the file 850_GAX_SD.bin in the root of SD and play!!!

Didn't try that out to be honest , i will give it a try ASAP , but the totalcommander is another software that i need to get i guess in this case.because i tried already the same steps that the regular chinese ASUS owners would do , but unfortunately , the time i get to the step where i do the volume button down and reset , it fails.

Nope, it restarts and fails, what I am doing is downloading from that link you have and taking the 850_GAX_SD.bin file and placing it into the 2577 folder on the SD card along with the Autorun.exe of the Fra (french) rom which i downloaded from the Asus Download section on their website, Is that right? or am I missing out a step
Iv noticed something about the french rom files is named 850_GAX_SD_Enc.bin instead of the others which are named 850_GAX_SD.bin ....is this how it should be?

any Ideas on any of that?

[i780] FR rom connection fix

I want to create a bin file with my dumped rom (HHC2 FR), with the Samsung i780 kitchen 0.2 beta, but there is a connection issue.
Like famusc wrote in his post, the problem can be fixed by use another bin with the same language for the conversion. But all the bin I found has this problem.
Does anyone have an old french rom which works fine ?
If not, do you know how to fix this issue ?
Is it possible to fix it with the use of another rom language for the conversion ?
If I find a way to fix it, I'll upload it here.

We have the same problem with the German rom. It seems that we can't use the kitchen to cook the rom and have to find another way. But here comes the problem. Maybe someone could give us advise....

I am inclined to port my WM6.1 release to "some" euro locales (Germania, Italino, French etc) I have ideas on how to do that but I don't think I have the time to selectively port the required MUIs.

I understand that, but maybe you can give us hints on how start filtering the MUIs or what you think we have to do. Just replacing the zylonite_keypad_Us.dll and the S00x files brings the result that the layout changes but the mouse and the touchscreen seem to not get along with it...
What do you think???

Changing the keyboard driver alone will not be sufficient. You need to have supporting MUIs to make them work in harmony. The MUIs need to be salvaged from pure Fr (for example) rom which runs on the desired DPI. IE, the MUIs must be extracted carefully out from the donor rom and then placed in the kitchen with the proper rgus that correspond to the Lang ID. But finding intact MUIs can be a problem in itself. Was there any official release for i780 Rom in Fr?

I don't know if there was in France, but in Germany we have an official release and I have the dumped files extracted from the clear german rom too...

So I assume that Germanic keyboard is applicable to Fr as well?

No don't think so because in France they got azerty and we here in germany have the qwertz layout. We just have to change the Y and Z... I don't know if it makes that easier... So you think that replacing the zylonite_keypad_Us.dll or editing it is not he right beginning...?????

I think you are on the right track, just that you can't rely 100% on that alone. If you are familar with rom cooking, then you can explore with sourcing out for MUI files from other roms (not necessarily i780) and do trial and error in cooking them.

Ok thanks for helping... I will try some MUIs from other ppc. But I think the problem is that the zylonite_Keypad_Us.dll is Samsung made think...

I have the raw files, the bin file and I just want to make change to this rom.
The connexion issue is : there is no connexion at the first start of windows mobile, IE and WLM don't work...

I only want to correct this bug, can anyone help me ?

Predictive Keyboard Spanish WP7

Friends, here I bring a breakthrough ... install the architect to achieve predictive Spanish (rom is for those with no alternative in English language).
It is very simple, install the xap (need to have the phone unlocked), after installing the program will touchexplorer to my ringtones folder and rename the file, sticking out the extension. wma
would file this name: dictionary.0409.dat I cut and pasted in the windows folder of the phone (asking whetheryou want to replace and say it did) .
Restart the phone and ready ... the Spanish dictionary ...
I can pick up other languages​​, but for now only supported by windows ...

I have a only two languajes in my phone: english and german, then when I try to install your application it doesn't appear any file with the *.wma extension in the ringtones folder. When I've explored the windows folder (with touchxplorer), and there are only two files with the name dictionary...-> one ...0407... and other ...0809... but not ...0409... Hello again. Thanks for your answer. Yes the phone is unlocked with chevron and the folder name is 'My Device/My Documents/My Ringtones' (in the phone). But the problem is I don't have the archive 'dictionary.0409.dat' in the windows folder, I have 'dictionary.0407.dat' and 'dictionary.0809.dat' (maybe english and german), when I install the aplication the archive 'dictionary.0409.wma' isn't copied in the phone, nothing is copied... After installing the application, go to the menu of installed applications and CHEVRON RINGTONE appears and you click on ... doing that you add the file to the specified folder.

rename the file, but that time the numbering indicates the language that replaces ... In your case you can rename the 0407 or 0809
example, the renamed file change 'dictionary.0409.dat' for 'dictionary.0407.dat' and overwrites

Now it works fine, I have english and spanish (instead of german). Thanks a lot

Hi all, having some problems here...
when trying to deploy the app using the developer tool, get a message of phone to registered on market place or some thing like that, have tried to register the phone using the registration tool on win developer and doesnt work.
did you all had to register phone in order to load XAP files? is there a walk around?
I will try the windows phone device manager, cause i'm having probs on this PC.
Any help will be much appreciated
